It’s hard to believe, but in three weeks, we’ll be at the halfway point of the Major League Baseball season. With the expanded playoff format, more teams will have a chance to make the postseason, and we’ll see less sellers and more buyers at the trade deadline.
We’ve taken a look at the standings, and we’ve come up with a couple of Online Sports Betting that are bold and could leave you shaking your head. Let’s take a look at a couple of bold MLB Playoffs Betting predictions.
Bold MLB Bets to Make While We’re 3 Weeks Away from Midseason
American League Shocker
- The Chicago White Sox Won’t Make the Playoffs
Prior to the season starting, the Chicago White Sox were one of the favorites to win the American League. Now that we’re over 50 games into the season, we don’t think that the Sox will even make the playoffs.
The starting rotation has been a mess thus far. Lance Lynn has yet to pitch, Lucas Giolito has been decent but not great, Michael Kopech will have to be shut down sooner or later so he doesn’t eclipse his innings limit, and we fear that Dylan Cease will get injured.
Speaking of injuries, the lineup has been hurt by numerous injuries. Eloy Jimenez will miss a ton of time, Luis Robert has missed numerous games, Tim Anderson could be out for awhile, and Yoan Moncada is just getting back from an injury. The Sox haven’t been able to get timely hits, the defense has been shoddy, and aging manager Tony LaRussa has made some very questionable decisions.
Even though the American League Central isn’t very strong, and the Sox aren’t that far out of contention, we just don’t see them making the playoffs this season. Too many things have already gone wrong, and LaRussa seems to have already lost the clubhouse. The Sox not making the playoffs will be a huge disappointment to many experts and White Sox fans.
One Last Run
- The St. Louis Cardinals Will Represent the National League In the World Series
We can’t believe that we’re going to say this, but we think that the Cardinals will win the National League pennant. For one, they have nostalgia on their side, as this is the last ride for Adam Wainwright, Yadier Molina, and Albert Pujols. They also have a very strong lineup.
Nolan Arrenado and Paul Goldschmidt lead a very good lineup. Rookie Nolan Gorman has been brought up and has provided a spark for the Cardinals lineup. The pitching staff could use some upgrades at the trade deadline, but thus far has held its own.
The Cardinals know that they have a great shot at making a long playoff run, and we think that they’ll be willing to make a splash at the trade deadline. We know that they’ve shown a hesitancy to make a big move in the past, but this year is going to be different.
We just have a hunch that the Cardinals will somehow find a way to win the National League and make it to the World Series.
