Top MLB Games for Next Week: Is it Worth Betting On Braves vs Mets Series?

Just a few weeks ago, the Atlanta Braves were struggling, and the New York Mets were trying to run away with the National League East. At one time, the Mets had a 13-game lead over the Braves.

Fast forward a few weeks, and how things have changed. Heading into the weekend, the New York Mets now hold just a 2.5-game lead over the Braves. Let’s find out if this series between the Braves and Mets are worth betting against the MLB Lines.

Will We Have a New Leader in the National League East?

Atlanta Braves versus New York Mets Betting Preview

Starting on Monday night, the Atlanta Braves will host the New York Mets in a key three-game series. Atlanta will be looking to take over the division lead, while the Mets will look to lengthen their lead in the NL East.

While the Mets have suffered numerous injuries and have gotten some good performances from some surprising sources, the Braves have turned things around.

After struggling to start the season, especially in the pitching department, the Braves have made a huge turnaround. While the Braves also had some injury issues, their starting pitching wasn’t living up to the expectations.

Now that the pitching has recovered and Ronald Acuna Jr. has returned from his torn ACL injury, the Braves are back and are ready to overtake the Mets. This series should be a very fun one to watch, especially if the division lead is up for grabs.

Monday Night Matchup

In looking at the pitching matchups, we should see some good ones. On Monday night, Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Braves. Scherzer looked great in his return from the IL, as he struck out 11 in six innings in a no decision.

Scherzer will be opposed by Max Fried. After he missed the start of the season with an injury, Fried has come back with a 9-2 record.

Tuesday’s Middle Game

A big surprise in Atlanta will start on Tuesday night for the Braves, as Spencer Strider will take the hill. Strider started the season in the bullpen, but he worked his way into the rotation. He’s 4-2 with 90 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched.

Strider will be opposed by Trevor Williams. Williams wasn’t supposed to be in the rotation, but with injuries to others, he’s been placed in the rotation. Williams is a serviceable veteran starter, but not much more than that.

Series Finale

Carlos Carrasco and Charlie Morton will face off on Wednesday. Carrasco has had a great season, while Morton has found his way recently after getting off to a slow start. This one should be a great end to the series.

Should We Bet On This Series

We think that this series presents bettors with a good source of income. Why do we think that, you may ask?

Well, the Braves have the momentum, and they know that this series presents them with a great chance to take over the division lead. We really like the Braves to take at least two out of the three games in this series.

The Mets are good, but they haven’t been playing near as well as Atlanta has. Ride the Braves in this one.
