We are probably going to see those battles go all the way down to the final week of the season, which is now just about a month away. With so many teams still in the hunt, the vast majority of the games on the Week 15 schedule come with playoff implications, which may well explain why the bookies have so many of the games on the board as being almost too close to call. We will talk about straight up wins and spread picks in our parlay picks for Week 15 of the regular season, but for the purposes of this piece, we are all about the point total. Let’s take a quick look at 3 games we like if you plan on wagering NFL on the total this weekend.
TNF Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders
We took some chances with our O/U parlay picks last weekend and ended up going a perfect 3-0, so let’s try that tactic again. We are taking a real risk with this one, as both teams have very much been trending on the under. The Chargers have seen 10 of their last 11 games go that route, while the Raiders have also struggled. Las Vegas lost 3-0 to the Vikings last weekend in a final result that is more like a soccer score than one we usually see in the NFL. All of that means that the bookies have this matchup in as potentially low scoring, but I think it is low enough that these teams might well be able to go OVER the 33 ½ points.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts
Part of our winning parlay last weekend had the Steelers going OVER in their game against the New England Patriots. I think we get back to normal this week, with the Pittsburgh offense looking even shakier than usual with Mitch Trubisky under center. Overall, the UNDER has hit in 9 of the last 11 games for the Steelers, including in each of their last 6 games on the road. The Colts are on a run of 3 straight games where the over has hit, but they will have a tougher time against a very stout Steelers D. Let’s go with the UNDER on this one, as I expect a tight, low scoring battle.
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
As it stands right now, there are only 2 teams officially eliminated from playoff contention, one of which is the Carolina Panthers. This weekend, they will host the Atlanta Falcons who, despite being 6-7, are still in the hunt to win the NFC South and make the playoffs. I expect the Falcons to come out on fire as they look to take advantage of the struggling Panthers and boost their playoff chances in the process. This is another matchup where the under looks like the obvious choice, but Atlanta has crossed this point total in 5 of their last 6 games, so I think we might well see this one creep OVER, too.
