The Cincinnati Bengals have quickly become one of the favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. After suffering from a Super Bowl hangover early in the season, the Bengals have come on strong late in the season. The winners of eight in a row head into the postseason as the #3 seed in the AFC Playoffs. They’ll start their Super Bowl journey with a date with the Baltimore Ravens. Cincinnati defeated Baltimore last weekend to clinch the #3 seed. Let’s take a look at the following analysis for your NFL bets.
Postseason Overview
The Bengals are the NFL’s hottest team. Much of this is because of the play of Joe Burrow. Burrow is quickly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has shown a penchant for playing well in big games, and he’ll need to do that in the postseason, as the AFC is a stacked conference.
Burrow has some very good offensive weapons at his disposal. With Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine at the running back positions, these two are good at running the ball and coming out of the backfield. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd make up arguably the best trio of receivers in the league. The offensive line, which has long been a weakness of the Bengals, has improved immensely over the length of the season.
The defense has gotten better as well, and this unit has made some big plays in key situations. We’re not sure if they’ll have to contend with Lamar Jackson this weekend, but if Jackson doesn’t play, things will be much easier for the Bengals defense. The Bengals are now a 7.5-point favorite over the Ravens.
Cincinnati’s Odds
In looking at Cincinnati’s betting numbers, they look like a good value bet. They are a +750 to win the Super Bowl. This team was there last season, and they’d love to have another shot at winning the Lombardi Trophy. They know what it takes to get there, and they will be hard to beat.
At a +375 to win the AFC, they know they’re going to have a tough time getting out of the conference. Getting out of the AFC is going to be the hardest part of winning the Super Bowl, as a majority of the top teams in the NFL are a part of the AFC. As we’ve stated, no team has a longer winning streak than the Bengals do right now.
Should I, or Should I Not Bet on the Bengals?
Between Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen, it’s hard to pick which one is better. All three of these gentlemen will be battling to win the AFC. Burrow has the clutch gene, and he has stepped up in big moments. He has some good weapons, and a defense to back him up. The offensive line could still be an issue, but has gotten a lot better.
We like the value that you get on the Bengals right now, and we wouldn’t hesitate to place some money on the Bengals. They’re playing like a Super Bowl team, and they are likely hoping to get another shot to play the Buffalo Bills.
