Kansas City Chiefs Betting Analysis: Why Will They Win the Super Bowl?

The Kansas City Chiefs won their third AFC title in four years and now advance to Super Bowl 57 in the Arizona desert. There, they will square off with another top-seed, the Philadelphia Eagles. Currently, according to the markets, the Eagles are favored by 2 points. The game total has been set at 49.5 points, and the Chiefs are +104 on the money line.

In this piece, we will give you seven reasons why we believe the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, coach Andy Reid and the rest of the squad can hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Let’s take a look at seven reasons on why you should bet on the Chiefs so you can place your bets against their Super Bowl Odds.

Seven Betting Reasons Why the Chiefs Will Win the Super Bowl 57

Reason 1: Experience

As mentioned, this is the Chiefs third trip to the big game in four years. In their two previous visits, they are 1-1, beating the 49ers and losing to Tampa Bay. Many of the players on the current roster have been here and done that before; they won’t be overwhelmed by the bright lights and all that comes with the distractions of Super Bowl Week.

Reason 2: Patrick Mahomes

In keeping with reason 1, reason 2 is the Chiefs seemingly unflappable (and injury immune) quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is a proven winner, just look at his performance last week against the Bengals on a right ankle that has a high-ankle sprain. The guy is a winner with a refuse-to-lose attitude.

Reason 3: Andy Reid

Andy Reid has been a coach in the NFL for 24 seasons and has a career-winning percentage of .642. In fact, the guy has not had a losing record EVER in his 10 seasons ON THE Kansas City sidelines. He has been in plenty of big game and his postseason record shows that he knows what he is doing, as he is 21-16 SU in those contests.

Reason 4: Steve Spagnuolo

The Chiefs veteran defensive coordinator has proven to be effective and lethal when it matters most. Many speculate that the long-time DC tends to hold things back in the regular season only to spring them on his opponents when they least expect it when it matters most, whether it be different blitzes, fronts, or coverages.

In addition to coordinating the 2020 Super Bowl win for KC, he also was the defensive coordinator when the Giants won it all against a seemingly superior Patriots team in 2008. In fact, he is the only coordinator in the history of football on either side of the ball to win a Super Bowl with two teams.

Reason 5: Emergence of Pacheco

Drafted in Round 7, not a ton was expected of Isiah Pacheco, a running back from Rutgers. However, he has become a vital part of the KC offense after supposed starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire was injured.

Obviously not THE focal point of the offense, Pacheco has become a nice complementary piece rushing for 95 yards against Jacksonville. While he only accounted for 26 yards on the ground opposite the Bengals, he did catch five balls, mostly short dump-off passes, for 59 yards.

Reason 6: Look at the Numbers

In a statistical comparison, Kansas City has the NFL’s best offense in terms of total yards and passing yards. This is over a 19-game sample size, so it is pretty significant. Granted, Philly is 3rd overall and 9th through the air, but the fact remains, the Chiefs have week after a week been able to score points; they’re also first in that category, and gain yards, making them potent in the Big Game.

Reason 7: The Dog Tends to Howl

In the past 15 Super Bowls, underdogs are 10-5 ATS in that time. As was the case Sunday night in frigid Kansas City, the Chiefs relish the role of being disrespected and overlooked. While they were favored in that particular game, some pregame comments really fired the team up.

We can totally see the Chiefs using the Vegas and worldwide markets’ decision to make them an underdog as a motivating factor to come out and play their best football.
