2023: 9–8 record / 2nd NFC North

Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Season Odds

For the second time in three seasons, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski won the NFL Coach of the Year Award.

Stefanski won the award for leading the Browns to the playoffs without starting quarterback Deshaun Watson.

This NFL season, Watson is healthy and should be the man under center.

Will Stefanski, Watson, and the Browns win enough games to go over the total?

Check out Cleveland Browns’ win/loss season total, a deep dive into their schedule, and an over/under prediction.

Writer’s Predictions for the Browns Games | Schedule Breakdown

Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Total Odds

NFL bettors are backing ove:

  • Over 8.5 wins -138
  • Under 8.5 wins +112

So far, NFL handicappers are backing over, but it’s not by a significant margin.

The -138 payout is a tepid response considering the Browns made the playoffs last season with Joe Flacco as their quarterback and get Deshaun Watson back for 2024.

At +112, sports betting fans are signaling that many have decided to wait and see how the Browns perform during the NFL Preseason before jumping on the over or the under.

Based on the games Cleveland should win, that’s a smart move.

Of the Browns 17 games, just 5 look like easy victories.

2-of-5, versus the Raiders and commanders on the road, won’t be easy wins. S

o the Browns and their fans are in for an edge of your seat season.

Check out the five games Cleveland should win along with analysis of the games that will determine whether Cleveland goes over or under the 8.5 total.

Games the Browns Should Win

  • Week 3 vs New York Giants
  • Week 4 at Las Vegas Raiders
  • Week 5 at Washington Commanders
  • Week 12 vs Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 13 at Denver Broncos

Remaining key games on the Cleveland Browns 2024 NFL Regular Season Schedule

NFL Week 1 vs Dallas Cowboys

This game could set the tone for both the Cowboys and the Browns.

If Dallas gets the win, they will be on their way to a fantastic season.

If Myles Garrett and the Browns rough up Dak Prescott and the boys, Cleveland could be the team to watch.

Cleveland gets Dallas at home, but the Browns could struggle matching the Cowboys on the scoreboard.

Few teams will boast the QB and WR combination that Dallas has in Dak and CeeDee Lamb.

Dallas scores the road win.

NFL Week 2 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence got a massive contract from the Jacksonville Jaguars during the offseason Shad Khan, the Jags’ owner, said the pressure is on to win games.

That was a bad move on Khan’s part. Jacksonville isn’t the type of team that responds well to pressure.

Stefanski will have the perfect game plan to counter Josh Hines-Allen, Devin Lloyd, and the rest of the Jaguars’ defense.

Cleveland scores the road win.

NFL Week 7 vs Cincinnati Bengals

Browns versus Bengals should be an epic 2-game series.

In the first, Joe Burrow and the Bengals head to Cleveland to take on their Ohio rivals.

Burrow is ready to roll.

Cincinnati has a rebuilt offensive line and a new starting running back in Zack Moss who will keep Garrett and the Cleveland pass rush from teeing off on Joe Cool.

Expect a Bengals’ victory in a possible overtime game.

NFL Week 8 vs Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore had a fantastic 2023 season but the Ravens didn’t have a great season against the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns split with the Ravens in 2023, handing Baltimore 1 of their 4 losses.

This matchup happens on Cleveland’s field, which means Deshaun and Co. should be ready to take it to Lamar and his mates.

The Browns get it done.

NFL Week 9 vs Los Angeles Chargers

No doubt, Chargers versus Browns will have playoff implications.

Neither the Chargers nor the Browns should win their division.

Both, though, will be in line for a wildcard.

Jim Harbaugh wants to make an immediate impression.

But Harbaugh’s defense isn’t on the level of Cleveland’s.

Also, as good as the Bolts’ offensive line has become since Harbaugh became head coach, it’s still below the Browns’ O-line.

Stefanski finds a way to get to Justin Herbert while Watson keeps a clean jersey.

The Browns win a tough, hard fought, defensive struggle by 3 points.

NFL Week 14 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Cleveland versus Pittsburgh is one of the top rivalries in sports.

Last season, the Steelers and Browns split.

Cleveland won at home, which should happen again in 2024, and Pittsburgh won on Heinz Field, which should, again, happen in 2024.

No matter who quarterbacks the Steelers, Russell Wilson or Justin Fields, Mike Tomlin and his crew grab the win.

NFL Week 17 vs Miami Dolphins

After studying last season, it’s obvious that Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins had a late season letdown.

The same thing could happen in 2024.

If Cleveland is healthy and fighting for a playoff spot in NFL Week 17, the Browns will take advantage because Garrett and his crew has the speed and toughness to handle Tua to Tyreek.

The Fins will play hard, but they will become dejected before the fourth quarter in a game the Browns win going away.

NFL Week 18 at Baltimore Ravens

This is a tough game to figure.

The Browns, Bengals, Ravens, and possibly even Steelers, every team in the AFC North, may need to have things happen in NFL Week 18 to secure playoff spots.

The Ravens will be the favorite, but Cleveland has proven they can take it to Lamar and Baltimore.

Still, at home and with something on the line, it’s tough to bet against John Harbaugh and Baltimore.

The Edgar Allan Poes write a winning poem.

Final Betting Analysis: Cleveland finishes at 9-8

After a solid 2023, the Browns don’t take much of a backward step when finishing 9-8.

The winning record may be enough for the Browns to make the playoffs.

The two most important games aren’t against AFC North rivals.

Cleveland must beat Miami and the Los Angeles Chargers later in the season.

If they can beat those AFC opponents, the Browns will win the head-to-head tiebreakers which should put them in a decent position to notch their NFL postseason ticket.

Cleveland goes over the win total and makes the playoffs this season.

Cleveland Browns Odds 2023: Calendar’s Betting Analysis for Home/Away Opponents

Previous Betting News

It’s a massive week in the NFL, with the 2023 Draft now very much upon us. This is the time of year where teams are focused on building their squad for the season ahead, with little thought being given to the teams that they will be facing once the regular season gets underway. As fans and bettors, we love to look ahead at what’s coming and start planning how we will play the games that we will be watching this season. The official schedule, with dates and times, will be released later in the spring, but even before that comes out, we do already know the matchups that are coming. For this piece, we are going to focus on the NFL betting analysis for Cleveland Browns and their 2023 schedule, so let’s jump right in.

2023 Analysis of Team-By-Team Opponents without Calendar: Cleveland Browns – Home/Away

Home

The Browns get one extra game at home this season, but whether that will be an advantage or not remains to be seen. Of course, they will have 3 homes games against their divisional opponents, with the Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers all coming to town, with all of those expected to be tough games, as always.

The Browns went 4-4 at home last season and have a pretty solid mix of winnable games and tough ones on their home schedule. They will face the Arizona Cardinals, who went 4-13 last season and 3-5 on the road. They will also a winnable game against the Chicago Bears (3-14, 1-7). The Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8, 4-5) are a team on the rise and will be a tough opponent. Who knows what the Browns will face when they host the New York Jets (7-10, 4-5), who are now led by Aaron Rodgers. They will also have very tough home games against the San Francisco 49ers (13-4, 5-3) and the Tennessee Titans (7-10, 4-5).

Away

If the Browns are to take a run at the AFC North this season, they are going to need to be a whole lot better than their 3-6 road record last season. They will, of course, have road trips to Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh, as they do every season, but what about their other road trips. Let’s look at their upcoming opponents, as well as the overall and home records of each team.

A trip to Denver is never an easy one, even though the Broncos are coming off a tough season where they went 5-12 overall and 4-4 at home. They will have a winnable game against the Houston Texans (3-13-1, 0-7-1), and a tricky trip to Indianapolis to face the Colts (4-12-1, 2-6). They will also have road games against the LA Rams (5-12, 4-5) and the Seattle Seahawks (9-8, 5-4).

All told, this is not the toughest schedule in the world if you base it on what each of these teams did last season. That said, we can see fortunes change dramatically, dependent upon what those teams do in free agency and the draft. Some teams that were basement dwellers last season might well take a step forward, while better teams might slip back. We will have a better idea of what this schedule actually looks like in terms of strength once we get to the preseason and see all the complete rosters.

NFL 2022 Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction

Previous Betting News

We have already made our predictions for the win totals of every team in the AFC North, but they were just quick looks. The goal now is to start breaking things down by team, and we are getting the ball rolling with the Cleveland Browns. In our divisional preview, we had them as going UNDER the 9 ½ win total, but how did we come to that? Well, the fact of the matter is that we are looking at a bit of a tricky situation with the Browns. Yes, they got an upgrade at the QB position, nabbing DeShaun Watson from the Houston Texans. The problem here is that there is still a possible suspension looming for Watson, so we don’t really know if he will even start in the opening few weeks. It may explain why they have not yet moved Baker Mayfield on, but time will tell. Of all the picks, this is the one that is perhaps the toughest, solely because of the Watson situation. If he is cleared to play from the start, this may change my pick to OVER. With all that said, it’s time to take a look at the Browns so you can plan your bets against their NFL Team Totals odds.

Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Total Prediction for the Upcoming Season | NFL Betting

Browns 2022 Schedule

The Browns have not won a season opener since 2004, but you do have to say that they have a shot at going 2-0 to start this season, with the Panthers and the Jets being the first 2 teams that they will face. That said, this was a team that managed just 2 wins on the road in 2021, so I would not say that a Week 1 road trip to Carolina is a guaranteed win.

Week 3 sees them host the Pittsburgh Steelers, and while they are facing a team in transition mode, these divisional games are always a crap shoot. I think they win in Week 4 versus the Falcons, but I think they follow that up with a loss to the LA Chargers in Week 5.

The Browns then have 3 more games before their bye in Week 9, and all 3 are tough. They will start with a home game Versus the Patriots, which could be a win, before facing the Ravens on the road and the Cincinnati Bengals at home. That’s a stretch that could well be 1-2, and while they might eke out 2 wins, I don’t see them winning all 3.

Weeks 10 through 12 are also tough. A road trip to Miami is a difficult one, but it’s also a game that the Browns could potentially win. You can’t really say the same for Week 11 and Week 12, as they will be on the road to face the Bills, followed by a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That looks like a pair of losses to me.

Week 13 is a road trip to Houston to face the Texans, which should be a win. They will then be on the road in Cincinnati, followed by a home tilt with the Ravens. There is the shot at a split there, so the potential for a 2-1 stretch here.

Week 16 sees the Browns host the Saints, followed by a road trip to Washington. They will then close out their season on the road to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Again, I think this has the potential for the Browns to go 2-1.

Win Total Prediction

Without knowing how the Watson situation will play out, I am sticking with the UNDER 9 ½ wins, but that could flip if he gets to play the whole season. Right now, I think 8-9 or 9-8 seems like a reasonable prediction.

Cleveland Browns Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Predictions

Previous Betting News

The NFL recently released the schedule for the upcoming 2019 season, with the bookies quickly following suit with their release of the win/loss totals for each team. This is one of the trickier wagers to play, as you just never really know who is going to soar and who is going to tank, but it sure is fun to look at those totals and make some predictions. For this piece, we are going to look at the Cleveland Browns win/loss total odds.

Cleveland Browns 2019 Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Predictions

Why Browns over 6 is a good bet?

It’s hard to believe that a 7-8-1 season could be viewed as a breakthrough season, but that’s exactly what it was for a Cleveland Browns team that couldn’t buy a win for many seasons prior to that one. Spurring this change in direction was landing QB Baker Mayfield in the draft, as that young man certainly looks like the real deal.

Rather than resting on their laurels and standing pat, the Browns chose to get very aggressive in the offseason market, with their biggest move being going out and getting Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants. He is a legitimate impact player that will serve as the perfect outlet for a QB that likes to move around in the pocket.

The Browns are now in as a favorite to win the AFC North, so it is going to be interesting to see how they react to being in a very unfamiliar position heading into the season.

Why Browns under 6 is a good bet?

While landing big-name players always means that you have the opportunity to win every week, it can also present some other issues. There are now some very big personalities on this team, with OBJ perhaps the biggest of all, so how are they all going to gel as they each individually look to be “the man” in Cleveland.

Being in as a favorite delivers some pressure that this team simply has not been used to over the years. How well they react to that pressure could well dictate how this season goes for the Browns. If they get off to a slow start, how long will it be before those big personalities start to clash?

Cleveland Browns 2019 Regular Season Win/Loss Total Final Analysis

You can say this for every team in the NFL, but I really do believe that a fast start is important for this team. Expectations are high, which means that people, players, and fans alike, could start getting a little antsy if this team does not deliver.

Winning the AFC North is still going to be tough. The Ravens and Steelers have both made some big shake-ups in their personnel, but both are still very good teams that could legitimately win this division. How the Browns perform against those two could well be a deciding factor.

I think that’s last season served as a solid foundation for this team, which is why I think they come out and build on that nicely. 10 or 11 wins should not be out of the question for the Browns.

NFL Betting Pick: OVER 9
