NFL Playoffs Odds: Dallas Cowboys versus San Francisco 49ers

Why bet on Cowboys versus 49ers?

Heading into the playoffs, the knock against the Cowboys was that they struggled on grass. The thinking made sense because in week 18, the Cowboys fell to the Washington Commanders with a rookie quarterback in a game on grass.

In their first playoff game, though, the Boys put the grass worries to bed. Dallas throttled Tom Brady and the Buccaneers 31-14. Dallas not only showed they could play on grass but that they could handle the GOAT on his field. Because of the impressive victory, the Boys head to San Francisco with a ton of confidence.

Why bet on 49ers versus Cowboys?

No HC makes halftime adjustments as well as 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Seattle took a 17-16 lead over the 49ers into halftime of last Saturday’s NFC Wild Card matchup.

Shanahan made the necessary adjustments and the 49ers dominated Seattle in the second half. SF outscored the Seahawks 25 to 6 for an impressive 41-23 victory. Shanahan’s ability to make the right adjustments means Dallas has a steep hill to climb to keep this to within 4 points.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Final Betting Prediction

Dallas impressed big time in the victory over Brady and the Bucs. But we should be honest with ourselves. The 2022-2023 version of Tom Brady pales in comparison to the 2020-2021 version.

Also, Brady threw a pick on a key Tampa drive. If the Buccaneers had scored a TD, they would have gone up 7-6 on the Cowboys. Who knows how the game may have unfolded?

On Sunday night, the 49ers send the best defense in the NFL to the field. Nick Bosa, the likely NFL Defensive Player of the Year, recorded 18.5 sacks this season.

Bosa will have Dak scrambling to get out of trouble on almost every passing down. When it comes to SF’s offense versus Dallas’ defense, the Niners have the edge. Brock Purdy is playing like Tom Brady circa 2001.

The main reason for Purdy’s success is because he can pass and hand the ball off to two of the top rushers in the league, Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel. San Francisco should pick apart a Dallas secondary that has struggled, save for Brady laying an egg, since Anthony Brown went down due to injury.

The bottom line is that SF is the better team. Not only that, but the spread line makes the 49ers an overlay. We should be able to turn this one off before the end of the third quarter.

NFL Divisional Round Pick: San Francisco 49ers -4
