With half the season in the books, we thought it might be fun to look at the current odds for MVP. What will probably not come as a surprise is that it is all QB’s who are in as the favorites right now. What might be surprising to some, though, is one of the names that is missing from those top favorites. To this point, it has been a season to forget for Patrick Mahomes, and even if he lights it up in the second half of the season, he is unlikely to do enough to walk away with the award. The harsh reality is that we are probably going to see some players drop off in the second half, which could absolutely hurt their chances at winning the MVP. One of those players is currently up among the NFL MVP Odds favorites and is the player we will start with here.
Up to Date NFL Regular Season MVP Odds
Josh Allen (+325)
Allen is currently in as the joint favorite to win the MVP this season, but he has gone cold of late, with the Bills offense struggling and losing games they should really be winning. You do get the feeling that this is all a minor blip on the radar, but Allen is going to need to up the ante and get back to winning if he wants to pick up the award. As it stands right now, he is 8th in total passing yards with 2, 236 and has 17 TD versus 5 INT. His passer rating is sitting at 97.1, which is a good way off the lead of the top passer in the league right now.
Tom Brady (+325)
We all keep waiting on Tom Brady to act his age and slow down a little, but the GOAT still appears to have a lot left in the tank. He and the Buccaneers are coming off a tough loss, but his numbers are still about as good as you would expect. Brady has passed for 2,630 yards so far this season and has 25 TD passes versus just 5 INT. His passer rating is an impressive 108.6, which is surprisingly not the best in the league. Brady is 2nd overall in QBR, but he does lead the way in yards per game.
Kyler Murray (+700)
The Arizona Cardinals have been one of the better teams through the first half of the season and you have to say that Murray deserves a lot of the credit. He is 7th overall in passing yards, but we also need to remember that he does a lot with his legs as well as his arm. Murray missed a game this past weekend and has a passer rating of 110.4. He has also completed 72.7% of his pass attempts, which is best in the league.
Matthew Stafford (+750)
If you think that Matthew Stafford is a good bet to win the MVP, now might be the time to make that bet, as this is as good as his odds are likely to get. Stafford has been a revelation for the LA Rams and is at the stop of the QB ranks with 2,771 passing yards. He also has the best Passer Rating in the league at 111.0 and has 23 TD passes versus 6 INT. At 69.7, he also leads the league in QBR.
