Trying to make wagers before the season begins and we get to see anyone play may seem foolish, but there are some instances where we can make picks that definitely make sense. One of those wagers is for the NFL Regular Season MVP. The reason why this wager is a little less risky than most is that we are usually dealing with a pretty small field of potential candidates. You can narrow things down even further when you understand that the last 10 winners of the MVP Award have been quarterbacks. Voters love the big numbers that QBs put up, which is why they tend to go in that direction. With all of that in mind, the current NFL odds to win the MVP should come as no surprise.
NFL MVP Odds Analysis and Betting Favorites to Win the Award| MyBookie NFL Betting Predictions
Patrick Mahomes | +630
If there is a more exciting player to watch in the league than Mahomes, I’m just not sure who it might be. The Chiefs have been dominant for a few years now, with Mahomes being the one to take them to the top of the heap. He won the MVP last season for the second time, and he comes into the new season as the favorite to win it again. Winning it in back-to-back seasons is tough, though, with Aaron Rodgers the last one to do it. Still, Mahomes figures to be great again this season, so this would not be a bad pick at these odds.

Joe Burrow | +700
You absolutely cannot downplay the role that Burrow has played in turning the Cincinnati Bengals into a legitimate Super Bowl contender. This is a team that has gone from the laughingstock of the league to a team that many people believe can hoist the Lombardi Trophy this season. The Bengals will go as far as Burrow can carry them, but in fairness, they have also added some weapons that are making his cause a little bit easier. A great pick at these current odds, but I also think the AFC North is going to be tough this season.

Josh Allen | +780
In terms of winning the Super Bowl, the window of opportunity is currently wide open for the Buffalo Bills. A huge part of their recent success is down to the transformation of Josh Allen. This is a QB that went from looking like a total bust to one of the elite players in the league. The problem that he has is that he is just one in a list of stacked AFC QBs, which you can clearly see by the odds we are discussing here. I feel like Allen is due to win this award, so I would definitely take a shot on him this season.

Justin Herbert | +1100
I have to confess that this pick is a little bit surprising to me. Sure, Herbert has logged some fantastic numbers with the Chargers, but the team has not really been able to build on that to become a true contender. I would have had Jalen Hurts, who is currently just behind Herbert on the board at odds of +1200, rated a little higher. I do think that Herbert will put up big numbers again, but it would be hard to vote for him if the Chargers don’t make the postseason. In fact, I would take Hurts ahead of a couple of these guys, and may just throw a few bucks in that direction.
