The march to Super Bowl 57 begins in earnest next weekend as 14 teams will vie for the shot to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Noticeably absent from the group are last season’s Super Bowl champs, the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams become the 17th team to win it all one season and then the next be on the outside looking in of the playoffs.
The NFL’s expanded playoffs, which began in 2020, will feature six games on Wild Card weekend, with all but two teams (Kansas City and Philadelphia) taking part as both the Chiefs and Eagles earned first-round byes and home-field throughout as long as they advance.
In this article, we’ll take a look at some teams that have a great chance of making it to Phoenix and ultimately winning it all for your Playoffs Bets. While late-season momentum has been important in previous years, it’s no guarantee that a team that played well down the stretch can prevail in the end.
AFC Most Likely Teams
In the AFC, we feel that there are two teams that have the best shot to represent their conference in the desert of Arizona. First is the Buffalo Bills. The Bills could very well be this season’s team of destiny in the wake of the horrific injury to defensive back Damar Hamlin. Hamlin, who appears on the road to a full recovery, will undoubtedly serve as motivation to the red and blue as they begin their playoff march.
Without being too obvious, we project the Chiefs as the other squad to make it to the Super Bowl. They are extremely battle-tested, have one of the game’s best quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes, and will benefit from home-field advantage throughout, along with a bye.
NFC Most Likely Teams
While the top two seeds in the AFC are at the top of our list, we are going somewhat off-script in the other conference and will focus on two teams who have great chances, despite not being presented with exactly the easiest road.
By virtue of their victory in the weak NFC South, the Tampa Bay Bucs have a home game in the opening round and have the potential to go as far as their quarterback Tom Brady takes them. There are no true standouts on this side of the bracket, and for that reason, we really fancy the Bucs to make a deep run, given Brady and the squad’s perfect balance of a lethal running game and abundance of weapons at TB12’s disposal.
Another team that should make some noise in the postseason is the Minnesota Vikings. Granted, they’ll likely be on the road after their playoff opener, but we believe in the Vikings. Their miraculous 39-36 win over the Colts shows that this team, which won 13 times in the 2022 season, has resilience and heart. Granted, Kirk Cousins hasn’t exactly been a superstar in the postseason, but this team has won in Miami and Buffalo, a pair of places that house playoff teams. We just have a feeling about the Vikes.
