After a grueling 18-week regular season and three tough weeks of playoff action, we’ve finally whittled the field down to the final two. In two weeks, the Super Bowl will be played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Ironically enough, for the second straight year, we’ll see one of the teams that occupies SoFi during the regular season in the Super Bowl.
The Los Angeles Rams, representing the NFC, earned a trip to the Super Bowl with a thrilling victory over the NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. This was their first win over the Niners in their last seven tries, so it was a much-deserved victory. Check out updated odds to win the Super Bowl for the Rams as well as an odds analysis so you can make your bets against the Super Bowl odds.
Odds On NFC Team Winning the Super Bowl
Rams coming in as the favorites
The oddsmakers have spoken, and they have made the Rams an early four-point favorite. The Rams will be playing the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals made it to the Super Bowl by way of Kansas City, as they had a huge comeback in their victory over the heavily-favored Chiefs on Sunday.
Joe Burrow seems to have the “It” factor and is quickly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He leads an explosive Bengals offense that will be sure to give the Rams some headaches.
Back to the Rams, Matthew Stafford was acquired by the Rams to get them to this point. Sean McVay had been longing for a franchise quarterback to run his offense, and the Rams mortgaged their future to get Stafford. The Rams don’t have a first-round pick in the draft until 2024 because of the deals they made to acquire Stafford.
They also lost a lot of draft capital in the deal to acquire Von Miller from the Denver Broncos. The deals all look good now, as they’ve helped land the Rams in the Super Bowl.
Odell Beckham Jr. great fit for the Rams
Another key deal that helped the Rams was the acquisition of Odell Beckham Jr. After being released by the Browns, Beckham chose to sign with the Rams.
Beckham has been a force since signing with the Rams. When Robert Woods was lost for the season, Beckham took over as the #2 receiver behind Cooper Kupp. Speaking of Kupp, he once again showed how valuable he is in the win over the Niners.
Kupp is a force, and he’ll be hard for the Bengals to stop. Putting him and Beckham together, along with the threat of tight end Tyler Higbee, and Cincinnati will have its hands full.
We’ll see if the spread moves any throughout the next few days. As far as we know, the Rams didn’t have any significant injuries yesterday, so that will be a help for them. They’re hoping that over the next few days in practice that everyone will stay healthy. They’ll have the advantage of being able to be at home for the next two weeks.
We’ll see if Matthew Stafford can win the big one. He nearly made a huge mistake late in Sunday’s win, but the likely interception was dropped. If Stafford can avoid the big mistakes and the Rams defense finds a way to slow Burrow and company down, things look good for Sean McVay and his squad.
