Things are a little different in the World SBK, though, as each Superbike weekend is comprised of 3 races, so while time is indeed starting to run out, there is a lot that can happen over the course of 12 races. Alvaro Bautista

Even if he fails to win another race this season, Bautista may well already have done enough to secure his 2nd straight World Championship. He has won a staggering 18 races this season and has a 74-point lead atop the rider standings. While he looks to be in very good shape, keep in mind that he had a similar showing in 2019, when he went on a tear early on before falling apart later in the season and ending up 2nd overall. He has cooled off a little as of late, but Bautista still has 2 wins in his last 6 races, so he can still pick up the occasional win and maintain his lead at the top. Ine the 3 races in France in 2022, he won, had a 2nd, and failed to finish in the other race. A repeat of that would be solid enough.

Toprak Razgatlioglu

Given that Razgatlioglu won the SKK World Championship in 2021, we all know that he is a guy that knows how to handle the pressure of a championship battle. While he has failed to finish 2 races this season, he has not been off the podium in the other 22 races to this point, which is why he is still in with an outside shot of running down Bautista in the final few weeks of the season. He has won 3 of the last 5 races, although being forced to retire in the final race in the Czech Republic hurts a little. He took 2 of 3 in France last season, so watch out this weekend.

Johnathan Rea

There is absolutely no doubt that we are down to a 2-horse race for the World Championship this season, but that does not mean that every other rider is going to simply shut up shop. There is money to be made here, and they will all want to finish as high in the standings as possible. Rea is one of the greats of this sport and will certainly not quit, winning his first race of the season in the Czech Republic last time out. The wins are now few and far between for the former champion, but he is a guy that is always a decent bet to be on the podium, which is something you might want to consider this weekend in France.
