2024 Wimbledon Tournament
The 2024 Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing grand slams in recent memory with plenty of storylines.
Young stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner head into the event, which begins on July 1, looking to cement themselves as the best in the sport after having split the first two grand slams of the year.
While Novak Djokovic, the greatest to ever play the game, hopes to prove he can still compete with the next generation of talent.
There are several other aspiring grand slam champions who could make some noise next week.
Here’s a look at the top players in Wimbledon by nationality.
Spain
Based on MyBookie’s current betting odds, Spain is the nationality of the player most likely to be champion at Wimbledon.
That’s because Alcaraz, 21, is playing at a high level right now after winning the French Open and is the defending Wimbledon champion.
Alcaraz beat Djokovic in five sets in an instant classic in last year’s Wimbledon final and survived another five-set match in the final at Roland Garros, beating Sinner after trailing 2-1 through three sets.
He is the youngest player to win a grand slam on all three surfaces.
Alcaraz is the only Spaniard currently in the draw, but there are others hoping to earn a place via qualification, including Alejandro Moro Canas and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Italy
Sinner is the most obvious choice for an Italian to win Wimbledon in 2024.
He has the second-shortest odds behind Alcaraz at +330 and is arguably the best bet to win, even without accounting for odds.
He has taken his game to another level since leading Italy to victory in the Davis Cup last season.
Sinner parlayed that success into a dominant performance at the Australian Open, where he won his first career grand slam, and is 38-3 overall this season.
Those are numbers we’re usually accustomed to seeing only from Djokovic.
Sinner has four titles this season, including winning last week in Halle, Germany.
Two of his three losses this season were against Alcaraz, so assuming they meet at the All England Club he would be highly motivated to exact revenge.
Lorenzo Musetti, at +10000, has the second-shortest odds to win Wimbledon among Italians.
He isn’t a real threat to win the tournament however as he has never advanced beyond the fourth round at a grand slam.
United States
The United States might not have a top contender to win Wimbledon, but there are at least three players who could surprise and find themselves playing in a grand slam final in the next two weeks.
Taylor Fritz has the best odds among Americans at +8000, but Tommy Paul might be the smartest pick.
Paul has +10000 odds to win Wimbledon, but is coming off his second title of the season in the Cinch Championships, a grass court tournament also held in London.
He took a week off and should be rested and ready to go at Wimbledon, where his best result is a fourth-round finish in 2022.
Fritz isn’t a bad option, however.
He won in Delray Beach this season and is currently ranked No.
13 in the world. That ranking could improve if he wins the Rothesay International, where he was into the semi-finals as of June 27.
Ben Shelton is another candidate who has +15000 odds to win Wimbledon, but is a young player who seems due for stardom in the near future.
Serbia
No, we’re not advising any outright Wimbledon bets on Laslo Djere or Miomir Kecmanovic.
If you’re betting on anyone from Serbia to win Wimbledon it’s going to be Djokovic.
The aging superstar is still capable of winning any day of the week, although he has shown some cracks in the armor as of late.
He is 18-6 this season, which isn’t good for him, and hasn’t won a title yet this season.
He started to show signs of turning it around at Roland Garros, but was forced to retire after his Round of 16 victory.
If Djokovic is going to win a grand slam this season it’s most likely to be at the All England Club, where he is a seven-time champion and has won in four of the last five years.
He has also been to five consecutive finals, so it’s somewhat strange to see him only have the third-shortest odds to win this year at +350.
Australia
Alex de Minaur is the top player from Australia in contention at this year’s Wimbledon and he’s actually not a bad outright pick to win at +6600.
He has the 12th-shortest odds to win the tournament and is having one of the best seasons of his career with two titles and a 33-12 record overall.
He won in the Netherlands two weeks ago and reached the quarter-finals at Roland Garros before losing to Alexander Zverev.
Germany
Zverev has the fourth-shortest odds to win Wimbledon, with great betting value at +750.
He’s a great candidate to win what would be his first grand slam as well as he has been so consistent this season, reaching the semi-finals in the Australian Open and finals at Roland Garros.
He lost both matches in five sets and seems as though he’s due to break through, especially with his off-court legal issues out of the way.
Jan-Lennard Struff has the second-shortest odds to win (+12000) among Germans at Wimbledon.
Russia
Daniil Medvedev is the only real threat from Russia to win Wimbledon and he’s another player who seems due for grand slam greatness this season.
He lost in five sets in the final of the Australian Open to Sinner after having a 2-0 lead and is a strong grass court player.
He reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon last year.
He has +2500 odds to win this year.
Fellow Russian Karen Khachanov has +10000 odds to win, but isn’t a real threat.
His best result at the All England Club is a quarter-final finish in 2021 and he is coming off a disappointing first-round exit at the Queen’s Club Championship.

2023 Wimbledon Betting Analysis of the Top Players By Nationality
Previous Betting News
Wimbledon is fast approaching, with qualifiers ongoing this week and ATP and WTA grass court events being played in Spain, Germany, and the UK. The third Grand Slam of the year is shaping up to be a good one as Novak Djokovic, on the men’s side, looks to complete leg three of the calendar Grand Slam. In the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka look to win their second Grand Slam.
That means our Grand Slam winners this year have come from Serbia, Poland, and Russia. Will European nations reign supreme once again at Wimbledon? Or can players from North America or elsewhere win at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club?
With that in mind, here’s a look at the top contenders by nationality for this year’s Wimbledon so you can get all set to bet against their Wimbledon betting odds.

Serbia | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
While we won’t see a Serbian woman win Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic is the overwhelming favorite to win the men’s tournament. He has -147 outright odds to win the event, which isn’t too surprising considering he is a seven-time Wimbledon champion and has won each of the last four tournaments.
Poland | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
Iga Swiatek, the 2023 French Open winner, will look to give Poland its first Wimbledon winner. She has the shortest odds to win at +360. Agnieszka Radwańska, in 2012, is the only Polish player, male or female, to make a Wimbledon final.
Hubert Hurkacz has the best odds among male Polish players at +4900. A Polish sweep of the championship would be remarkable but is highly unlikely, as Hurkacz is having somewhat of a down year compared to 2022.
Spain | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
Carlos Alcaraz, the apparent heir to Rafael Nadal as the top male player from Spain, has the second-shortest odds to win Wimbledon at +290. Alcaraz is better on clay than grass but proved himself worthy of those odds with a grass court tournament win at the Queen’s Club Championships last week. Roberto Bautista Augt (+10000) is another Spaniard in contention in the men’s draw.
Paula Badosa (+3900) has the shortest odds among Spanish women to win Wimbledon. Garbiñe Muguruza was the last and only Spanish woman to win Wimbledon.
Russia | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
If any country has a chance to sweep the men’s and women’s titles at Wimbledon, it’s Russia. Daniil Medvedev (+1400) has the third-shortest odds to win the men’s tournament, while other Russians in contention include Andrey Rublev (+4500) and Aslan Karatsev (+15000). Karen Khachanov withdrew due to injury.
Sabalenka, the 2023 Australian Open winner, has the third-shortest odds among women at +430. Other Russians in the women’s draw include Mirra Andreeva (+2600), Ekaterina Alexandrova (+2900), and Veronika Kudermetova (+3000). Maria Sharapova is the only Russian player to ever win Wimbledon.
United States | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
Pete Sampras, in 2000, was the last American male to win Wimbledon. Taylor Fritz (+2600) has the sixth-shortest odds to win this year’s event. He’s joined by Sebastian Korda (+3100) and Frances Tiafoe (+7000), both of whom could also go on lengthy runs at the All-England Club.
Coco Gauff, a 19-year-old American, has the sixth-shortest odds among female players at +1550. Jessica Pegula (+2200) is another noteworthy contender who reached the third round at Wimbledon last year.
Italy | Top Players to Win Wimbledon
Two Italian men could find themselves in contention this year. Jannik Sinner (+1625) has the fourth-shortest odds to win, while Matteo Berrettini (+4100) is just outside of the top 10. Both players excel on grass, but Berrettini has struggled and dealt with injuries this year.
