Betting the Wimbledon ATP Finals

The WTA Wimbledon Finals happens on Saturday at 9:00 am eastern.

For the second straight major, Jasmine Paolini has scored a trip to the final.

Paolini, though, is the underdog versus Barbora Krejcikova, a winner against Elena Rybakina in her semifinals match on Thursday.

Will Paolini or Krejcikova lift the Wimbledon plate on Saturday?

Check out tennis odds, analysis, and a free pick for Jasmine Paolini versus Barbora Krejcikova.

Why Bet on Jasmine Paolini versus Barbora Krejcikova

At no time during her career has Paolini played as well as she is right now.

The 28 year old Italian made it to the finals at Roland Garros losing to the world’s number one player, Iga Swiatek.

At Wimbledon, Paolini has stepped up her game.

There were many moments during the semifinal matchup against Donna Vekic where Jasmine Paolini could have given up.

But instead, she kept fighting.

On the verge of her first major title victory, Paolini will be at her best.

  • W – vs Madison Keys

Why bet on Barbora Krejcikova versus Jasmine Paolini

Favored Barbora Krejcikova has gotten better as the Wimbledon tournament has continued.

In the first round, Krejcikova required 3 sets and a tiebreaker to get by Veronika Kudermetova.

By the fourth round, Krejcikova was rolling, dropping Danielle Collins in straight sets.

Barbora then bested Jelena Ostapenko, who was on a roll herself, in straight sets and a tiebreaker.

After dropping the first set to Elena Rybakina, Krejcikova picked herself up and upset her heavily favored opponent by winning the next two sets.

Krejcikova has the determination of a major titlist.

She’s going to be ready on Saturday.

  • W – vs Jelena Ostapenko
  • W – vs Danielle Collins
  • W – vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro
  • W – vs Katie Volynets
  • W – vs Veronika Kudermetova

Final Betting Analysis: Barbora Krejcikova versus Jasmine Paolini

Krejcikova versus Paolini should be a fantastic match.

Both have grit and determination that can lead to a finals victory.

One, though, appears due for the win. Jasmine Paolini has proved during Wimbledon that her march to the final at the French Open wasn’t a fluke.

The way Paolini handled Emma Navarro in the quarters, Navarro headed to the quarterfinals after knocking out Coco Gauff, was extraordinary.

Paolini also impressed versus Vekic. After losing the first set, she rallied to win the next two and the tiebreaker in the third.

Jasmine Paolini wins the Wimbledon plate.

Wimbledon Women’s Final Pick: Jasmine Paolini

Williams vs Halep 2019 Wimbledon Women’s Finals Odds & Pick

Previous Betting News

Two of the best women tennis players on the planet throw down when active legend Serena Williams takes on Simona Halep in the 2019 Wimbledon Women’s Finals. The match takes place at the All England Club on Saturday, July 13. Will Serena rediscover her championship form? Or, will Halep win her second major of her career? Check out the Wimbledon Women’s Finals odds, a preview, and a free pick for Williams-Halep!

Williams vs Halep 2019 Wimbledon Women’s Finals Odds & Pick

When: Saturday, July 13 at 9:00am ET
Where: All England Club, London, England
TV: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN
Wimbledon Odds: Serena Williams -208, Simona Halep +152

Why Serena Williams is a good bet -208?

During her run to the Wimbledon Finals, Serena’s taken apart every opponent she’s faced. She has only lost 2 sets in 6 matches at Wimbledon. The first set she lost happened in Round 2 when facing Kaja Juvan. The second she lost happened versus Alison Riske in the quarterfinals.

Williams has been so good that she shows up an over -200 favorite to beat higher seeded Simona Halep. Serena went about her business in the impressive 6-1, 6-2 victory versus Barbora Strykova. When Williams is at her best, no women’s tennis player on the planet can touch her.

Why Simona Halep is a good bet +152?

Halep had a decent 2018, winning the French Open and finishing in the Australian Open Finals. She wasn’t nearly as dominant to start 2019. However, here she is, ready to take on the greatest women’s tennis player in history for her second major title.

Does Halep have any chance of beating Serena? A case can be made that Halep battled much tougher opponents on her way to the finals. The more battle-tested Halep could pick up her game enough to upset Williams on Saturday.

Williams vs Halep 2019 Wimbledon Women’s Finals Betting Analysis

Serena has looked good during this tournament, but it feels like this is Simona’s time. She beat Victoria Azarenka in Round 3, sent 15-year-old tennis phenom Cori Gauff home in the fourth round, and then got past Shuai Zhang in the quarterfinals.

She battled excellent player Elina Svitolina in the semis. Halep easily handled Svitolina 6-1, 6-3. In the semis, there’s no doubt that she battled a much tougher opponent than Serena Williams. The real knock is that Williams has owned Halep in the head-to-head, beating her in 9-of-10. We can overlook that because Simona might be hitting her peak as a professional. Halep gets the nod in what should be a great tennis match.

2019 Wimbledon Women’s Finals Pick: Simona Halep +152

Previous Betting News

Wimbledon is, quite probably, the world’s premier tennis event. There is something about the location and the dedication to history that make it a little more special than the other Grand Slam events. As such, players are often more driven to do well here, but the grass courts have proven to be tough for many over the years. You need only look at the 2018 Wimbledon women’s tournament this year to get an idea of just how difficult it is to win at this event. By the end of the 4th round, every single one of the top 10 seeds in the women’s tournament had been eliminated.

This opened the door for a few dark horses to emerge, although the final that we have been left with is one that, while somewhat surprising, is not a total shock. Angelique Kerber will be out looking for her first Wimbledon title, while the tennis betting favorite Serena Williams will be in search of #8. Kerber is the higher seeded of the two players, but that means little when you are going against a player who has made Center Court a home away from home during the course of her career.

2018 Wimbledon Women’s Final Odds: Serena Williams -200 / Angelique Kerber +170

WTA Top 10

Why bet on Angelique Kerber?

It is certainly fair to suggest that grass would not be the surface of choice for Kerber heading into a final, but she appears to have conquered the turf over the past few years. This will be her second Wimbledon final in the past 3 years, with her last visit ending in defeat to Serena Williams. It has been a rather smooth path to the final for Kerber, and not simply because the better players were ousted before the later rounds.

She has made short work of most of her opponents, with her best performance coming in the semi-final, where she beat Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets in a little over an hour. Kerber plays a more defensive style of tennis, which she is going to need against Williams, who is once again starting to flash some serious power.

Why bet on Serena Williams?

Despite the fact that Williams has won this event 7 times in her career, she came into this one as a bit of an underdog. After all, this was just her 4th tournament since returning to the tour after giving birth, and her previous events were not exactly memorable. It seems that those tournaments were really nothing more than warm-ups for this one.

In fairness, though, Williams did benefit from all those seeded players getting knocked out, as she did not have to face a seeded opponent until the semi-finals, although she did win that one very easily. Williams has admitted that the pressure is off here because no-one thought she would be making it to the final. It’s hard to bet against a player who has a career mark of 5-2 against Kerber.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

This is the most that Serena has looked like the player she was before taking time off to have a baby, and that is bad news for Kerber. Williams loves this tournament, and while it may not be smooth sailing, I think she picks up Wimbledon title #8 on Saturday.

Tennis Betting Lines on Possible Williams Sister Final at WimbledonTITULOH44444

Previous Betting News

American tennis is a joke on the men’s side with no USA player even close to being among the top players in the world. But the women’s side still has sisters Serena and Venus Williams among the best in the world — with Serena perhaps the best ever. And the sisters could have another meeting in the finals of Wimbledon this weekend if both win their semifinal matches on Thursday. The two have met in four previous Wimbledon finals. Serena is a heavy favorite to advance on sportsbetting odds, but Venus is an underdog.

Closer Look at the Tennis Betting Lines on Possible Williams Sister Final at Wimbledon

Venus wasn’t supposed to reach the Wimbledon semifinals considering her age, recent health and performances, but here she is. At the age of 36, Venus on Tuesday handled another younger opponent, unseeded 28-year-old Yaroslava Shvedova 7-6 (5), 6-2 to advance to the semifinals at the All England Club. Williams, a five-time singles champion there, was playing her 12th Wimbledon quarterfinal. Her opponent, 96th-ranked Shvedova, was playing her first.

In her 19th Wimbledon, Venus tied the Open era record with 71 Grand Slam appearances. And then she became the oldest woman to advance to a major quarterfinal in 22 years, when Martina Navratilova made the final at the age of 37. Venus is in a Grand Slam semifinal for the first time since the 2010 U.S. Open. In the six years since then, Williams was found to have Sjogren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease. She also struggled with a back injury.

No. 8 Venus is a +195 underdog against No. 4 Angelique Kerber, a straight-sets winner over No. 5 Simona Halep 7-5, 7-6 (2). In a match with 13 service breaks, Kerber led that statistic 7-6 and, despite failing to serve out the match at 5-4, Halep’s level dropped away in the tiebreak that closed the 91-minute match. Kerber’s duel with Halep was a highly competitive and high-quality affair between two of the great movers and defensive players in the women’s game. Kerber remains the only woman in the tournament yet to drop a set.

Kerber leads the head-to-head against Venus 3-2 but the pair hasn’t played since 2014 and has only met once on grass, at the London 2012 Olympics.

Serena is a -1200 favorite against Elena Vesnina (+750). Serena, the top seed, beat Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 6-4. Williams, the six-time and defending champion, had 11 aces and won 36 of 40 (90 percent) of her first-serve points. She did not face a break point and converted the only two she managed against Pavlyuchenkova. Unseeded Russian Vesnina thrashed Slovakian 19th seed Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-2.

At 34, Serena is five years older than Vesnina. Serena has now won 22 matches in the past four Slams, far ahead of her competitors. With two more here, she would collect her 22nd major singles title, matching Steffi Graf’s Open era record. Not only is Serena the oldest player to win a Grand Slam in the Open era (last year at Wimbledon), but she is also the oldest player to be ranked No. 1. For the first time since 2009, Serena and Venus have each reached the semifinals of Wimbledon.

Expert Betting Prediction

Love to see an All-Williams final. Serena should roll in straight sets as she’s 4-0 all-time vs. Vesnina, but take Kerber in three sets on betting odds to beat Venus.
