All 32 NFL teams will be in action for Thanksgiving week after six straight bye weeks. This week kicks off with the annual Thanksgiving tripleheader and features a Sunday slate with significant playoff implications. There will be a lot on the line this week for teams trying to stay in the playoff picture. Take a look at some of the teams that are sure to lose in Week 12 so you can place your bets against the NFL Lines.
Who Are the Sure Losers in Week 12 of NFL Action?
New York Giants (+8) vs Dallas Cowboys
A week after their bye week, the New York Giants entered Week 11 with a 7-2 record in search of a second straight victory and took on a Detroit Lions team that many thought they would easily defeat. Based on the way the game went, you would never have known the Giants were favorites. Their offense turned the ball over three times, and they lost 31-18. The team has lost two of its last three games and failed to cover the spread twice.
The Dallas Cowboys on the other hand, look like a super bowl contender after blasting the 8-1 Minnesota Vikings 40-3. Dallas’ offense is one of the best in the league, with a strong running back duo and Dak Prescott leading the way. The unit has averaged 35.35 points over their last four games.
The Giants don’t have enough offense to compete with the Cowboys in this one. Additionally, 7-2 ATS in their last nine contests. Expect the Giants to be losers in Week 12.
Houston Texans (-12) vs Miami Dolphins
The Houston Texans opened this game as +9.5 point underdogs on the road, but after another stinker against the Washington Commanders, the Texans now jumped to +12 underdogs. The Texans look like they have thrown in the towel at this point, they have just one win in their ten games up to this point, and they look to be fighting for the first overall draft pick in the offseason.
The Texans have lost five straight games and posted an absolutely dismal performance where they mustered 148 total yards. Davis Mills threw two interceptions, and the offense ranks dead last in the league in yards. Did I mention they are also averaging just 15.9 points?
The Miami Dolphins will be fresh coming off a bye week, and the Miami offense is legit under Head Coach Mike McDaniel. Miami has a plethora of weapons, from Tyreek Hill to Jaylen Waddle, while Tua Tagovailoa comes in ranked first in QBR (83). The Texans will not come close in Week 12.
Denver Broncos (-2.5) vs Carolina Panthers
The Denver Broncos make the list this week, and oddsmakers got this one wrong; Carolina should be favored in this matchup. Denver has played way under expectations up to this point, and they have just one road win this season. The Broncos come into this matchup with the worst offense in the National Football League. Denver averages a league-worst 14.7 points and just 326.4 yards per game.
While Carolina certainly has their limitations, they play their best football at home, where they have three wins. Additionally, Carolina plays competitive football; despite having just three wins on the season, the Panthers have covered the spread in four of their last five games. Carolina has also won their last two home games, so the Broncos will have their hands full.
Over their last seven games, the Broncos own just one victory dating back to Week Eight over the Jaguars. They have covered the spread in just two out of their last seven contests. With all of this in mind, the Broncos will likely drop their third straight game in Week 12.
