The Chicago White Sox have been hammered by injuries this early season and that’s a big reason they are on a seven-game losing streak, their longest such skid in three years. The Pale Hose look to end that Tuesday in a home series opener vs. Kansas City. Let’s take a look at how the Kansas City vs Chicago White Sox teams are coming in to place your MLB Odds.

Why Bet on Kansas City?
The Royals enter off a 5-4 12-inning loss in Seattle on Sunday, the team’s fourth straight defeat. The Mariners’ Winker had an 11-pitch at-bat in the 10th inning, ending with a sacrifice fly that scored Adam Frazier to tie the game at 4. Two innings later, Winker fouled off seven pitches from Joel Payamps (0-1) before dumping his first hit of the game into right field. Frazier scored the winning run easily when Whit Merrifield’s throw was up the line.
KC’s Hunter Dozier hit a solo homer with one out in the ninth off Drew Steckenrider to pull the Royals even at 3. It was Dozier’s third home run of the season and first on the road. He’s now slashing .275/.288/.529 with three home runs over his first 51 at-bats of 2022.
Salvador Perez went 2-for-5 with an RBI double in Sunday’s loss. The slugging catcher has recorded a hit in five of his last six games, including three home runs. Adalberto Mondesi went 0-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases. Mondesi walked and stole second in the seventh and added another stolen base as the automatic runner in the 12th. He struck out in his other four plate appearances. The positives for the shortstop this season are that he is 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts and has yet to make an error. Other than that, his .301 OPS and nearly 40 percent strikeout rate are providing little offensive value. Nicky Lopez and Andrew Benintendi are batting a combined .333, but the rest of the team is batting .183.
It’s lefty Daniel Lynch (1-1, 5.40) on the mound here. Lynch earned the win in Kansas City’s 2-0 win last Wednesday vs. Minnesota, in which he allowed just 4 hits and 1 walk over 5.0-plus scoreless innings, with 2 strikeouts. It was the second scoreless start of his career and the first win by a Royals starter since the third-to-last game of 2021.
In 3 starts vs. the White Sox last season, he went 1-2 with a 16.20 ERA (15 ER in 8.1 IP), and his win came in his only previous start at Guaranteed Rate Field last Aug. 5, in which he allowed just 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks in 5.0 innings, with a career-high 7 strikeouts en route to a 3-2 victory.Lynch is 2-4 with a 5.13 ERA (23 ER in 40.1 IP) in 8 career road starts, including his first start of 2022 on April 12 in St. Louis, where he matched a career high with 7 strikeouts but allowed 6 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk in 5.0 innings, suffering a 6-5 loss…he’s completed 5.0 innings in 6 of his 8 road starts.
Why Bet on Chicago?
The White Sox have lost slugging outfielder Eloy Jimenez for 6-8 weeks with a hamstring strain suffered running the bases on Saturday. A ruptured left pectoral tendon limited the oft-injured Jimenez to 55 games last season. He is hitting .222 through 11 games this season with one home run and seven RBIs.
Missing four months last season clearly impeded Jiménez from playing to his talent level, so the big question hanging over this for the Sox is how much he can get back to himself this season if he misses two months or more.
Chicago has eight players on the injured list: Jimenez; pitchers Ryan Burr (right shoulder strain), Garrett Crochet (Tommy John surgery), Joe Kelly (right biceps nerve), Lance Lynn (right knee tendon tear) and Jonathan Stiever (right lat surgery); third baseman Yoan Moncada (right oblique strain) and outfielder Yermin Mercedes (left hand fracture).
Closer Liam Hendriks is dealing with back tightness following Sunday’s loss to Minnesota. Hendriks took the loss Sunday when he allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out one in 1.1 innings. Manager Tony La Russa downplayed the severity of the issue and indicated Hendriks said during the outing that he was fine. Hendriks has been somewhat of a hit or miss reliever so far this year as he currently sits with an ERA of 6.14.
It’s lefty Dallas Keuchel (1-1, 15.00) on the mound Tuesday. Keuchel was crushed in last Wednesday’s loss to the Guardians, giving up 10 runs (eight earned) on 10 hits over his one-plus innings of work. The veteran southpaw also walked a batter in the abbreviated outing and didn’t record a strikeout. Nearly all of the damage was done during a nine-run uprising to start the second inning — with a grand slam by Jose Ramirez delivering the biggest blow. The first 11 hitters reached base safely against him to begin that inning — nine on hits and two on errors.
Keuchel was 0-3 with a 6.60 ERA (11 ER/15.0 IP) vs. the Royals in 2021 after going 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA in 2020. The Sox lost the 2021 season series, 10-9. They recorded a 2.52 ERA in the first 14 games against the Royals and a 6.28 mark over the last five.
