Expert Analysis Beyond Betting AFL Odds for Round 11

Expert Analysis Beyond Betting AFL Odds for Round 11

The AFL premiership race ignites in Round 11! This week’s matchups hold the key to unlocking the top eight contenders, and betting AFL odds are already buzzing with anticipation. Let’s delve into the storylines, key player performances, and team form to help you make informed predictions.

There isn’t much to separate the fifth and 10th-place teams in the Australian Football League table. Defending Grand Final winner Collingwood is in fifth place with a 6-3-1 record. Behind the Magpies are five teams tied with 6-4 records.

All teams clumped up in the middle would like to avoid relying on AFL percentage to determine their spot in the standings. This round will provide plenty of opportunities for teams to separate themselves from the pack, and there is still plenty of time to move up the ladder.

Fremantle Looks For Statement Win

Collingwood opened its defense of the championship by falling flat on its face. The Magpies lost their first three matches of the season before rallying to win six of its last seven matches. Last week, Collingwood squeaked by Adelaide by four points.

The Magpies will look to score more goals consistently. Collingwood has been held to fewer than 100 points during three of their previous four matches. The Magpies are +102 to beat Fremantle.

Collingwood has had plenty of success against the Dockers as of late, winning three of the past four matches between the sides. Fremantle is -127 to win. The over/under has been set at 153.5 points.

The Dockers have won three of their past four matches, including a 72-55 win over St. Kilda last week. Fremantle has needed help at times finishing off scoring chances. The Dockers are a group that thinks quickly and is creative while attacking, ranking first in the league in handballs per game.

Brody Mihocek and Beau McCreery are supposed to return from injury, which should boost Collingwood to a win.

Betting Fremantle vs Collingwood Lines

AFL Odds: Fremantle -2.5 / Fremantle -145; Collingwood +108 / O/U 153.5

Geelong Has Hit the Wall

The Cats are set to return several key players. But Geelong can’t afford to have any of them show a dip from their usual form. Following a 7-0 start to the season, the Cats have lost three straight, including a 64-point shellacking from the Gold Coast Suns last week.

Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron will return, which should give Geelong’s offense a shot in the arm. Midfielder Mitch Duncan could also be back in the lineup. GWS has been in a bit of a freefall itself. The Giants have produced 69 points or fewer in three straight matches.

GWS has lost three straight. The Giants will need to improve offensively if they want to win matches. GWS is +155 to win, while Geelong is -195. The over/under has been set at 179.5 points.

Geelong should use the jump from returning players to pick up a win.

Betting Geelong Cats vs GWS GIANTS Lines

AFL Odds: Geelong -10.5 / Geelong -204; GWS +127 / O/U 181.5

Is Gold Coast a Contender?

The Suns have been bullying opposing defenses over the past few weeks. Gold Coast has scored 120 or more points in consecutive wins over North Melbourne and Geelong. The Suns, who are +195, hope to build on that continuity against Carlton.

The Blues are -250 to win the match. The over/under is 175.5 points. Carlton has struggled over the past few weeks, losing three of its previous four matches. This could be a space where Gold Coast could lean on its excellent attack to steal a win.

Betting Carlton Blues vs Gold Coast Suns Lines

AFL Odds: Carlton -16.5 / Carlton -270; Gold Coast +164 / O/U 175.5

AFL Betting – 2020 Premiership Week 11 Matches Picks

Previous Betting News

With the 2020 AFL Premiership season steamrolling into round 11, it’s time to take a look at which teams are in action and which teams are looking good in their respective matchups. With just three weeks of regular season action remaining before the start of the postseason, let’s get started with picks on the first four matchups of round 11 so you can put your bets against their AFL odds.

AFL Round 11 Picks – Events Preview

Port Adelaide (8-2-0) vs. Richmond (6-3-1)

Port Adelaide is sitting atop the AFL standings and comes into this matchup having won two straight and four of their last five, including a 55-42 home win over the Western Bulldogs on Monday. Richmond is in fourth place in the standings and comes into this clash having won two straight and five of their last six games overall, including an emphatic 82-41 home win over Brisbane on Tuesday.

Port Adelaide has scored the third most points in the AFL heading into this one (702) while limiting the opposition to a league-low 485 points defensively. Richmond has put 659 points on the board while allowing 534 points defensively. While Port Adelaide has been fantastic defensively, Richmond has scored 77 points or more in three of their last four, giving the Tigers the look of a team that has a legitimate chance to pull off the upset, even on the road.

Pick: Richmond 58 Port Adelaide 55
When: Saturday, August 8 at 1:35 AM
Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Brisbane (7-3-0) vs. Western (5-5-0)

Brisbane is in third place in the standings with 704 points scored and 597 points allowed. Unfortunately, the Lions had their three-game winning streak snapped in their embarrassing 82-41 road loss against Richmond on Tuesday. Western is in ninth place in the standings with 580 points scored but a whopping 629 points allowed. The Bulldogs have lost to straight after going 5-1 in their previous six games and come into this matchup off a 55-42 road loss against Port Adelaide on Monday. For this round 11 clash, I really wouldn’t think twice about backing a clearly superior Brisbane squad to get it done. The Bulldogs have allowed at least 86 points in four of their five losses this season and that just doesn’t bode well heading into this one.

Pick: Lions 92 Bulldogs 50
When: Saturday, August 8 at 4:40 AM ET
Where: Gabba, Brisbane

West Coast (6-3-0) vs. Carlton (4-5-0)

West Coast is in sixth place in the standings with 599 points scored and 522 points allowed defensively. The Eagles come into round 11 riding the wave of a fantastic five-game winning streak that includes a 73-64 home win over Geelong on Saturday. Carlton is in 13th place in the standings with 606 points scored and 621 points allowed. The Blues have alternated wins and losses over their last six games and come into this affair off a humbling 89-58 home loss against Hawthorn in round 9 on July 31. Keep it simple here. West Coast is on fire right now and playing some of the best footy of any team in the league while Carlton just can’t find the consistency they’re looking for. The Eagles get the big win to stay red-hot.

Pick: West Coast 82 Carlton 58
When: Sunday, August 9 at 12:35 AM
Where: Optus Stadium, Perth

Melbourne (4-5-0) vs. North Melbourne (3-7-0)

Melbourne is in 12th place in the standings with 541 points scored and an identical 541 points allowed. The Demons snapped a two-game skid by smacking Adelaide around in their 88-37 blowout win on Wednesday. North Melbourne is in 15th place in the standings with 597 points scored and 678 points allowed. The Kangaroos are reeling, having lost seven of their last eight games including a humbling 90-57 road loss against Geelong on Wednesday. With the Demons playing at home in this one and the Kangaroos struggling mightily, this one looks like something or a near lock!

Pick: Melbourne 68 North Melbourne 58
When: Sunday, August 9 at 3:10 AM
Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
