Early French Open Updated Odds for the Field

The clay court season is in full swing, with weeks of big tournaments around the globe. With ATP events like Monte Carlo, Houston, Barcelona, Munich, and now Madrid in the rearview mirror, there are only two events left until the French Open. While many things could happen at the ATP Masters in Rome or the 250 events in Lyon and Geneva, the odds are clearing up for the second Grand Slam of the tennis season.

The French Open at Roland Garros in Paris runs from May 28 to June 11. The biggest question on the men’s side is who will play? The King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, has not played since January, and world No. 1 Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Madrid Masters but is expected to return to the Rome Masters on May 10.

The odds for the French Open are always changing with each tournament, and they have been updated after the Madrid Masters.

Let’s take a look at betting favorites for the French Open men’s event.

Djokovic No Longer The Favorite

Novak Djokovic opened as the favorite for this event after the Australian Open at +140. Those odds moved to +150 after he returned to action in March. But now, given his early losses in the Monte Carlo round of 16 and the quarterfinals at Banja Luka, his odds are +208 at MyBookie.

Djokovic is still the No. 1 player in the world, though that could change at the Italian Open in Rome over the next 10 days. If Carlos Alcaraz wins and Djokovic goes out early, Alcaraz will become the new No. 1 heading into Roland Garros.

Grand Slams are what keep Djokovic going right now, especially after he missed multiple tournaments the last three years. Djokovic and Nadal are tied with 22 wins at Grand Slams, and both will be looking for a 23rd at Roland Garros.

If healthy and focused, very few people in the world can beat Djokovic on any surface. Clay is his most susceptible, with only two French Open titles. However, most of those have been won by Nadal, and Djokovic is 259-65 in his career on clay, including an 85-16 record at the French Open.

Alcaraz Time

This spring has been all about Alcaraz. He now has four titles on the season, three on clay, He repeated at the Madrid Masters this weekend to go along with triumphs at the Indian Wells Masters, Barcelona, and Buenos Aires.

With those wins and a 29-2 record on the season, Alcaraz is now the betting favorite for the French Open at +108. Those tennis odds are down from +163 in April, as the Spaniard has gone 19-1 on clay this year.

Alcaraz won five events on clay in 2022 and reached the French Open quarterfinals, where he lost to Alexander Zverev. He finished last year with a US Open title before an injury caused him to miss the 2023 Australian Open. No matter what happens this week in Rome, Alcaraz will head to Paris as the favorite, and maybe as the No. 1 seed.

Can Nadal Get Healthy?

We haven’t seen Nadal swing a racket since January, and it’s growing very likely he won’t be ready for the French Open. He’s listed as the third favorite at +360, but that is all on name and not on reality.

Sure, he is 112-3 lifetime at Roland Garros and a 14-time champion. But Father Time is undefeated, and Nadal just can’t get healthy. It is nearly impossible to think he can go from not playing in four months to beating the best in the world in a grueling two-week event.

The Others

At MyBookie, everyone else is at least +880 to win the French Open. Last year’s runner-up, Casper Ruud, is +1875, and 2021 runner up Stefanos Tsitsipas, is +880. Italian Jannik Sinner has had a fantastic 2023 season, breaking into the top 10, and he’s +1250. Others to keep an eye on are Monte Carlo champion Andrey Rublev at +2600, Daniil Medvedev at +2500, and 2022 quarterfinalist Holger Rune at +1225.

Updated French Open Odds to Win for the Next Grand Slam

Previous Betting News

The next tennis grand slam is two months away as the best player in the world prepares for the grueling clay court tournament at Roland Garros. The French Open is the trickiest slam to predict as it produces longer rallies, slower play and takes away the serving power when compared to the other slams.

Held May 28 to June 11 at Roland Garros in Paris, France, the French Open is the second of four Grand Slams in both the ATP and WTA tennis seasons. The odds have been updated at MyBookie for the French Open after the first two months of action following the Australian Open.

Let’s take a look at favorites for the French Open, as some of the odds have shifted over the last month.

Updated French Open Odds to Win for the Next Grand Slam

French Open Details
Start date: Sunday, May 28, 2023
End date: Sunday, Jun 11, 2023
Location: Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France

Djokovic Remains The Favorite

Novak Djokovic got off to a great start this season with multiple wins, including his 22nd Grand Slam at the Australian Open. Despite missing the two ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in the U.S. because of his vaccination status, Djokovic remains the favorite at Roland Garros.

His odds have changed just slightly since February, down to +151 from +153 at MyBookie. Last year he lost in the quarterfinals of the French Open to Rafael Nadal and has posted an 85-16 career record in the French. Of his 22 slam titles, two have come at Roland Garros, in 2016 and 2021.

Alcaraz Odds Get a Boost

Back from injury and racking up the titles this year, Carlos Alcaraz has boosted his odds over the last month from +174 to +162. After winning on clay in South America last month, Alcaraz cruised to the Indian Wells title on the California hard courts last week.

His all-around game has improved, and he has put the injury behind him after missing the first major of the season. The 2022 U.S. Open champion is a real threat to win in Paris and cement his standing as the No. 1 player in the world.

Will Nadal be Healthy?

Rafael Nadal is the undisputed King of Clay and Ruler of Roland Garros. There’s no doubt about that, as he has claimed 14 titles at the French Open and posted a career record of 112-3. Yes, you read that right, 112-3.

However, Nadal hasn’t played since losing in the Australian Open as injuries have forced him out of the U.S. hard court swing and the South American clay court events he has long dominated. He’s hoping to return for the clay court Masters events in Monte Carlo, Rome, and Madrid to prepare for the French Open.

Due to his lack of play this year, Nadal’s odds have worsened at MyBookie. He was +220 at the end of January, +250 a month ago, and now sits at +258.

Swiatek The Women’s Favorite

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek won the French Open in 2020 and 2022. She is a big favorite to add a third title this spring, going from -110 in February to -115 now. Swiatek is 44-7 in her career on clay courts, including a 21-2 record at Roland Garros.

After falling in the fourth round of the Australian Open, Swiatek made two finals in a row, winning in Qatar and losing in Dubai. She also reached the semifinals at Indian Wells and opened the Miami Open as the top seed.

Jabeur a Contender

After Swiatek, there is a big gap in odds at MyBookie to the rest of the field. Ons Jabeur was +200 in February, but a rough start to the 2023 season has her at +860 now.  Jabeur has a WTA 1000 clay court title from Madrid last year but has never made it past the quarters at the French Open.

After winning at Indian Wells, Elena Rybakina jumped from +1450 to +1275. Last year’s runner up Coco Gauff, is +1225 after being +1200 in February, and Australian Open champ Aryna Sabalenka is up from +1450 to +1375.

ATP 2022 French Open Betting Analysis: Will Carlos Alcaraz Win his First Roland-Garros Title?

Previous Betting News

Born on the 5th of May 2003, Carlos Alcaraz is growing to become a sensation on the tennis court, and many experts are touting him to be the future of the sport. He reminds us of a young Nadal, who went on to win his first Grand Slam as a teenager. Would we see another Spanish teen take the tennis world by storm?

We look forward to what Alcaraz’s career holds. The teenager has been consistent with his continuous rise in the industry, and it hasn’t been easy for anyone that has faced him. He is not just a rising prodigy but has already shown signs of becoming a legend, even though he is only 19.

He was the first player to beat both Djokovic and Nadal on clay in a single tournament, and he went on to win his 2nd Masters 1000 title in Madrid. The teenager is on a roll, and he was even described by Alexander Zverev, a top tennis player, as the best tennis player in the world now.

And we don’t think he is far off. Therefore, with this rise to stardom and incredible skills, will Alcaraz win his first French Open title this year? Keep reading to find out what we think so you can get all set to bet against his French Open Odds.

Will Carlos Alcaraz Win his 1st Title? | French Open Betting Predictions

Carlos Alcaraz’s Year So Far

The year has been good for Alcaraz, and he is on a roll to becoming a great tennis player. Last year September, he became the youngest US Open quarter-finalist of the Open era. But this year, Alcaraz won his first Masters’ crown in Miami and also got his second Masters 1000 title in Madrid. Therefore, it is gearing to be one incredible year.

Although he had to pull out of the Italian Open to rest his sore ankle, the year is looking good for the young man. And we think he has what it takes to go far in the coming French Open. With Juan Carlos Ferrero as his coach, he will only get better, and we expect to see him compete in more Grand Slams.

French Open Records

Unlike his idol, Rafael Nadal, who won the Roland Garros title two days after his 19th birthday, Alcaraz would have to wait a few weeks before winning his first Grand Slam. However, it won’t be easy because the top two would want to show that they’re still at the top of their games, and Nadal would want to assert his dominance in France.

As he is still at the start of his career, Alcaraz doesn’t have many records to go with at the various Grand Slams. His best record yet is his quarterfinal appearance at the US Open in 2021, making him the youngest player. At the Roland Garros, he has only reached as far as the 3rd round, and it is the same with the other two grand slams.

Main Competitions

In this year’s French Open, Alcaraz will be looking to take things further and win his first Grand Slam title. He is already winning the Masters’ 1000 titles. Therefore, he can do that at the biggest stages. However, he is faced with many tough oppositions. As a result, he would need to be on top of his game.

One of the biggest threats to his title hopes is Rafael Nadal because everyone knows that the French Court is Nadal’s playground. He has dominated the competition since 2005, and only three players have been able to take the title away from him. So, with Nadal back from injury, it won’t be easy. Other competitors are Novak Djokovic, Stephanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev.

Our thoughts

Carlos Alcaraz is still young, and he has plenty of years to build on his skills and dominate different Grand Slams. He sure is the future of the sport, and at a point, he would be at the top of the pile. However great he is now, he is not there yet, and we don’t think this would be his year at the French Open. But we think he might reach the semis this time around.

Previous Betting News

The tennis world is about to switch to the clay courts after the Miami Open ends this weekend. The clay court season will dominate the landscape through May, culminating with the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris from May 28 to June 11.

The French Open is the second of four Grand Slams in both the ATP and WTA tennis seasons. Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka won the Australian Open back in January. The odds for the French Open are always changing with each tournament, and they have been updating them as we head into April.

Let’s take a look at ATP favorites for the French Open lines at MyBookie.

Djokovic Remains The Favorite

ATP Player: Novak Djokovic
Country: Serbia
Majors: 22

Novak Djokovic entered into an all-time tie with his 22nd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Oddsmakers say he will make it 23 at the French Open this spring. Even a small hiatus from play in March can’t stop him from being the favorite at +150, down from +153 last month.

Djokovic missed out on the U.S. swing of the ATP Tour in March because of his vaccination status; missing out on Indiana Wells and Miami cost him the No. 1 ranking in the world but not his status as French open favorite at MyBookie.

Djokovic will be a tough out in any tournament this year. He is on a mission to cement his legacy and make up for the lost chances when he wasn’t allowed into tournaments during COVID. The 2016 and 2021 French Open champion is 85-16 at Roland Garros and lost in the quarterfinals last year.

Alcaraz A Close Second

ATP Player: Carlos Alcaraz Garfia
Country: Spain
Career titles: 8

Youngster Carlos Alcaraz is having a great 2023 season as he returns from an injury over the winter. He missed the Australian Open but has already reached three finals since returning to the tour. As a result, Alcaraz’s odds of winning the French Open are down to +163, right behind Djokovic.

Alcaraz has a title on hard courts and clay this year, and if he wins again at the Miami Open or the Masters on clay, he could surpass Djokovic as the favorite before the first match in Paris.

The No. 1 player in the world could end up as the No. 1 seed in Paris as well. Either way, he and Djokovic should be on opposite sides of the draw, meaning they could only meet in the finals.

MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament

Nadal Battling Health

ATP Player: Rafael Nadal Parera
Country: Spain
Grand Slam titles: 22

No one has ever had more success at a grand slam than Rafael Nadal at the French Open. Nadal is +260 to win at Roland Garros this spring, down from +250 earlier this year. The change in odds is mostly due to Nadal’s injuries, as he hasn’t played since losing at the Australian Open in January.

Nadal skipped the hard courts to get healthy and save his legs and back. He is hoping to return to the tour for the clay court circuit to get ready for the French Open. With a couple of matches and tournaments under his belt, Nadal could be a force in Paris to beat Djokovic to title No. 23.

Nadal already has 14 French Open titles on his resume and a career record of 112-3 at the event. He’s never lost in the finals and will likely get a protected seed when the draw comes out, especially if he’s able to play at the warm-up events in Monte Carlo, Rome, and Madrid.

Everyone else in the field is at least +700 to win the French Open.

Previous Betting News

French Open qualifiers are ongoing for both the men’s and women’s draw, and we’re only a few days away from the official start of the second Grand Slam of the tennis season.

There’s already been a few notable stories in the lead up to the event.

Let’s check out the updated French Open odds and some of those headlines.

Nadal Withdraws from the 2023 French Open

Rafael Nadal, who has won 14 of the last 18 titles at Roland Garros, announced last week that he won’t be competing in Paris. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise – Nadal hasn’t played since losing in the second round of the Australian Open in January – but it’ll be strange to play the clay court Grand Slam without the "King of Clay."

His absence, however, opens the door for Novak Djokovic to win his record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam. He and Nadal are tied with 22 titles each. Other players, like Casper Ruud and Holger Rune, now may have a realistic opportunity to win their first Grand Slam.

"It is going to start making other players believe that they can win Roland-Garros – more than two hours ago [before Nadal’s announcement]. That is, for sure, something that the players feel," explained tennis analyst Alex Corretja to Eurosport.

A Chance for Alcaraz to Take the Throne

Carlos Alcaraz has been hailed as the predecessor to Nadal for the better part of a year. The 20-year-old Spaniard is almost just as dominant on clay and became the youngest-ever world No. 1 last season after winning the US Open. Without Nadal at Roland Garros, he has a chance to stake his claim to the title of the best player in the sport.

Alcaraz is coming off a disappointing second-round loss at the Italian Open but won the Madrid Open and Barcelona Open in the weeks prior. He’s 20-2 on clay court this season and 30-3 overall.

Can Anyone Stop Swiatek?

As evidenced by her outright odds (-144), Iga Swiatek is a major favorite to win the women’s draw at Roland Garros. She won the Stuttgart Open a few weeks ago and is the best clay court player on the WTA Tour, having won the French Open in 2022 and 2020.

However, if you’re going to bet on anyone but Swiatek, it should be Elena Rybakina (+640).

Last year’s Wimbledon champion beat Swiatek on May 17 in the quarter-final at the Italian Open, beat her 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-final at Indian Wells, and knocked her out of the Australian Open in the fourth round with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

Updated French Open Odds to Win for the Next Grand Slam

French Open Details

Next Grand Slam: French Open: Early Odds to Win

Previous Betting News

At the Australian Open in January, Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka won the first Grand Slam titles of the season. The tennis world shifts to the clay court season in preparation for the next slam, the French Open. Held May 28 – June 11 at Roland Garros in Paris, France, the French Open is the second of four Grand Slams in both the ATP and WTA tennis seasons.

Let’s have a look at our 2023 tennis update so you can continue placing your bets on the French Open Odds.

Next Grand Slam: French Open: Early odds to Win

The French Open odds are out at MyBookie for the French Open, and only one of the two Australian Open champs is listed among the favorites. Let’s take a look at both the favorites for the French Open and a couple of longer shots to claim the second slam of the year.

Djokovic Atop the Men’s List

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have both won 22 career Grand Slam titles, but their difference at the French Open is 14-2. Djokovic is the overall favorite at +153, and his two French Open titles came in 2016 and 2021, the latter including a semifinal win over Nadal. Last year, Nadal beat Djokovic in the quarterfinals en route to a record 14th Roland Garros title.

Neither have played on clay yet this year and likely won’t until the Monte Carlo Masters in April. Djokovic is 85-16 in his career at the French and will start the tournament both as the favorite and the No. 1 seed.

Nadal is +250 to win his 15th French Open title. He hasn’t played since losing at the Australian Open, and the biggest question for the Spaniard is his health.

Injuries and Djokovic might be the only things that can slow down Nadal on clay. He is 112-3 in Paris, with two of those losses to Djokovic. Nadal is 14-0 in finals, 14-1 in the semifinals, and 15-1 in the quarterfinals.

The young guy with the best chance to break through is Carlos Alcaraz. The 2022 U.S. Open winner is +172 at MyBookie to claim a second career slam. He has already won on clay this year and won five clay court titles last year before losing in the French Open quarterfinals.

Two previous finalists are a bit of longer shots to win in June. Stefanos Tsitsipas lost the finals in 2021 to Djokovic and he’s +650. Casper Ruud, who lost to Nadal last year in the final, is +1200. Everyone else in the field is at least +1400, including 2021 and 2022 semifinalist Alexander Zverev.

Swiatek a Big Favorite

Having won the French Open in both 2022 and 2022, world No. 1 Iga Swiatek is a big favorite on the women’s side. She is listed at -110 and will be the No. 1 seed at Roland Garros. She has a 21-2 career record at the French Open and enters March with a career record of 44-7 on clay.

Ons Jabeur is the next favorite at +200 on the MyBookie French Open odds. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist has never made the quarters at the French Open, but her only WTA 1000 title came on clay last year at the Madrid Open. Jabeur is 30-8 over the last two seasons on clay but needs to make a run at the French Open to cement her top-five status.

Last year’s French Open runner-up Coco Gauff is the next favorite at +1200. She has an 11-3 career record at Roland Garros, with a run to the quarters in 2021 and a loss to Swiatek in last year’s final. Gauff has reached at least the quarters in three of the last seven slams and a 28-8 record on clay the last two years.

Everyone else in the field is at least +1400, including 2021 champ Barbara Krejcikova at +1450. Sabalenka is also +1450 and Australian Open runner-up Elena Rybakina is as well.

ATP 2022 French Open Betting Analysis: Will Djokovic Win his 3rd Roland-Garros Title?

Previous Betting News

Novak Djokovic is truly a huge star in the tennis world, and every fan knows how good he is with a racquet. His precision and power play is everything to admire, and the Serbian has been at the top of his game for many years, earning him a place at the top of the table as the current best Men’s player.

The world number 1 doesn’t take long before he starts winning titles, but this year hasn’t been as good for him. He could not defend his title in Australia after being deported because of the Covid-19 vaccine issue. Also, he missed the competition in Miami because of his vaccination status.

However, he came back to Rome, and it was like he was never out. Djokovic swept the event, earning him his first title of the year. In 1hour and 37 minutes, he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas to extend his ATP Masters 1000 records to 38. And he became the 5th Men’s tennis player to win 1,000 matches.

Fortunately, Djokovic is also clear to take part in the French Open, and undoubtedly, it makes the event even more exciting. Therefore, will we see Djokovic win his 3rd French Open title? Keep reading to find out what we think so you can get ready to bet against the French Open Odds.

Will Novak Djokovic Win his 3rd Title? | French Open Betting

Djokovic French Open Records

Novak Djokovic might be king in Australia, but he struggles in France. He currently has nine Aussie Open titles. However, in France, he only has two. One in 2016 and the other in 2021. Overall he has 20 Grand Slam titles, and there is a chance that he could increase the tally if he successfully defends his title this year.

Last year he had an incredible run throughout the knockout stages until the final, which was pretty end-to-end as Tsitsipas put up a good fight. The match started with Tsitsipas taking the first and second sets. It felt like he might do it, but Djokovic was too good in the third set and thus began his ultimate comeback. The match ended with Djokovic winning 3-2.

Current Form

The world number 1 hasn’t played many games this year. Therefore, there isn’t much about his form. However, we saw a typical Djokovic at the Italian Open, where he was able to blaze through different opposition. Fortunately for him, Rafael Nadal didn’t make it past the round of 16, giving the Serbian a good chance.

His form going into the French Open is good, and we expect to see more fire from the world no. 1 because he hasn’t been very lucky in Paris. This might be his time to win the even back-to-back and tie with Nadal in terms of the most Grand Slams titles. In that case, we look forward to what he brings to the competition.

Primary Competitors

Rafael Nadal struggling with form in 2021 gave Djokovic a good chance to win the competition in 2021, and he took it well. However, with Nadal firing again this season, winning his third French Open title will be tricky because everyone knows that Nadal is the king of Clay. Therefore, we would love to see how he fares against the Spaniard.

Aside from Nadal, the competition is fierce this year, with other players also looking forward to sealing their names on the top list of the tennis world. In this event, other major competitors to Djokovic would be Carlos Alcaraz, Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Casper Ruud.

Therefore, the Serbian would need to find a way to go past any of them if they meet in the competition if he wants a chance to win his 21st Grand Slam title.

Our Thoughts

Going into a Grand Slam undoubtedly requires a lot of practice and preparation. Other players would also be gearing up to take a shot at the title. Therefore, the Roland Garros will not be easy for any of them, including Djokovic. But we think there is a good chance for the Serbian to win his 3rd French Open title if Nadal doesn’t make it to the final.

ATP 2022 French Open Betting Analysis: Will Nadal Win his 14th Roland-Garros Title?

Previous Betting News

The French Open is on, and we are into the qualifying round. It has been an amazing year, and since recovering from his injury, Rafael Nadal has been on fire since the turn of the year. He plays with so much passion. Although he was ousted in Rome, Nadal remains a strong contender to win the French Open.

Watching Nadal play this year doesn’t seem to highlight that he is 35 and closing in on the end of his career. There is so much fire in his game, and many fans are worried that he might push himself too far since he only fully recovered from a rib stress fracture. However, there’s a whole new push for the Spaniard, and we are here to enjoy the ride,

Going into the Roland Garros, Nadal has the chance to push for a record-extending win, taking his total win to 14. Going by what we’ve seen, it is a massive possibility, and we would like to see if he adds the French Open to his collection of Grand Slams this year. So, will Nadal win his 14th French Open? Keep reading to find out what we think so you can continue planning your bets and place them against the French Open Odds.

Will Rafael Nadal Win his 14th Title? | French Open Betting

Overview of Rafael Nadal’s Year

Nadal’s year started with the Australia Open in Melbourne, playing in the doubles and singles events. Although his pairing with Jaume Munar didn’t go well after they pulled out of the event, Nadal went on to blaze through the Australia Open singles event. Eventually, he won the championship in Melbourne, securing his 21st Grand Slam.

With his successes in Australia, he went to Mexico to compete in the Acapulco ATP 500 event. It was a smooth ride for the 35-year-old Spaniard, and as a result, he got his third title of the year. He was on his way to winning his 4th title for the year until he was hit with an injury at the Indian Wells while playing against Carlos Alcaraz.

But he made it to the US Open final, and he had to play through the injury, which contributed to his first loss of the year. As a result, Taylor Fritz won the US Open title. After recovering, Nadal returned to competing, and his first was in Madrid, where he started well. However, he eventually lost out to Alcaraz in the quarterfinal.

The loss was because he was just recovering from the injury and not fully healed. The defeat didn’t seem to faze Nadal, and he was ready to compete in the next tournament in Italy. However, that also didn’t go well, as he was out in the round of 16. Therefore, the focus is now on the French Open to how Nadal fares this time.

Records at the French Open

Rafael Nadal’s French Open win journey started when he was 19, with his first win in the competition coming in 2005. After that, he went on to win the competition for the next three years, sealing his name as one of the top players. In 2009, Nadal lost shockingly to Robin Soderling in the round of 16.

After his 2009 outsing, he went on another victory run from 2010 to 2014, winning another five Roland Garros trophies. However, he missed out on the title in 2015 and 2016 by losing to Novak Djokovic and pulling out. His comeback in 2017 began another four-year domination until he lost in a semifinal bout to Djokovic in 2021.

As a result of his constant domination, Nadal has won 13 Roland Garros titles, the most for any tennis player. And there is a chance that the tally will increase this year because, from the records, he never really stays long before winning another French Open.

Major Competitions

Going into the competition this year, his major competitors are Djokovic, Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Casper Ruud. Fortunately for Nadal, Roger Federer is still out injured. Therefore, that is one less competition to face. However, quite a few top-class competitors are left, and we would like to see how he fares against these tough oppositions.

Our Thoughts

The French Open is Nadal’s kingdom, and he has dominated the competition for almost 20 years. Winning the competition in his first attempt and barely 19 years of age put him among the best. Then, winning 13 times in 17 tries is god-tier. Therefore, we believe Nadal can win his 14th French Open title this year by the records.

WTA 2022 French Open Betting Favorites and Predictions for the Upcoming Tournament

Previous Betting News

The heavily-anticipated French Open, also known as Roland Garros, kicks off on May 22, which is still quite a bit away.

Still, the bookmakers have already started offering French Betting Odds, making this the perfect time to check the offer and pick our main favorites to claim the trophy.

Women’s 2022 French Open Expert Analysis | WTA Betting

Iga Swiatek

Ash Barty’s sudden retirement from professional tennis propelled Iga Swiatek to the top of the WTA rankings, where the Polish star is expected to remain for a while longer. She was not as good as Barty, but Swiatek was the clear second-best, and there was no player more deserving of the top ranking.

The 20-year-old is also in exceptional form. She travels to France with a 32-3 record in the year, which includes four titles.

Swiatek won three consecutive titles on hard courts, including the Sunshine Double – WTA 1000 Indian Wells and Miami. By winning the Sunshine Double, Swiatek also became the fourth player and the youngest to claim it, after Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters, and Victoria Azarenka.

She also won in Stuttgart, where Swiatek reeled four straight wins, including a 6-2, 6-2 against Aryna Sabalenka. And if her form is not enough to convince you that Swiatek is the most likely victor in France, she had already won here in 2020.

Simona Halep

Simona Halep is the second favorite to win the French Open title, even though she is ranked well outside the Top-20. But there is a good reason for that.

Most notably, Halep partnered with Patrick Mouratoglou, who has spent years as Serena Williams’ head coach and is definitely the guy to help Halep elevate her game. The pair started working together at the end of April, and the results were instant – as he helped Halpe to a strong start to Madrid Open.

With a new head coach, Halep is a threat, even though it’s impossible to say how well she’ll perform in France. Still, we would keep an eye out for her.

Barbora Krejcikova

Barbora Krejcikova was more known for her performances in doubles rather than singles, but she stunned the world last year when she won the 2021 French Open. It marked her first Grand Slam title in just her fifth major appearance, and it set the bar for what to expect from Krejcikova this season.

Most importantly, Krejcikova quickly proved that her performance at the last year’s French Open wasn’t a fluke as she then reached R4 of Wimbledon and QF of the U.S. Open. Moreover, she started the 2022 season with a QF finish in Australia.

But Krejcikova has been missing from action since March, when she withdrew from Indian Wells with an elbow injury. As a result, this year, Krejcikova holds a 9-4 record, and her last match was R16 exit from Qatar Open to Jelena Ostapenko. So betting on Krejcikova does seem appealing, but there are many question marks.

Most importantly, there is a world where Krejcikova decides not to attend. And even if she does, her lack of match play is concerning, making her title-defense run a less likely outcome.
