Top Five Picks To Win
- No. 5 Rickie Fowler
The 31-year-old world No. 48 ranks inside the top 100 in driving distance, driving accuracy and birdie average (4.11). More importantly, Fowler has finished inside the Top 50 three times in five events this season, including an encouraging T29 finish in the Masters in his last outing. For me, it seems like Fowler is getting overlooked more often than not in today’s times, but for a gut that has second place finishes in three majors and a third place finish in another, Fowler is a an excellent pick at +2200.
- No. 4 Viktor Hovland
The 23-year-old world No. 25 is playing extremely well and looks like a great pick at +200. Hovland has four Top-15 finishes in five events this season while finishing T47 in the only event he didn’t really contend in. The sweet-swinging Norway native comes into this tournament fresh off an encouraging T15 in the Houston Open last month and he’s well-rested. Hovland ranks 54th in driving distance (306.0) and a stellar 17th in scoring average (69.6) and is undeniably one of the best young stars on the PGA Tour.
- No. 3 Tony Finau
Now recovered from his bout with COVID-19, the 31-year-old Finau will look to continue his impressive campaign following a T38 finish in the Masters in his final event last month. In four events this season, the world No. 19 has finished T8 at the U.S. Open, T11 in the Zozo Championship and T24 in the Houston Open. Finau is ranked 18th in driving distance (313.6), 41st in eagles per hole and a stellar 15th in scoring average (69.6). Finau looks like a great pick at +1800 and this is a event he could very well win.
- No. 2 Justin Thomas
The 27-year-old world No. 3 ranks a stupendous fifth in birdie average (5.00) and third in scoring average (69.1). More importantly, in four events this season, Thomas has three Top-10 finishes and one T12 in the CJ Cup. Thomas comes into this tournament off a fantastic T2 finish in the Zozo Championship before backing that up with an outstanding fourth place finish in last month’s Masters. Three Top-1o finishes in four events means the top-ranked player in this tournament will definitely contend!
- No. 1 Harris English
The 33-year-old world No. 33 in the PGA Tour rankings, ranks 64th in driving distance (304.5) while ranking an encouraging 18th in birdie average (4.67) and even more impressive seventh in scoring average (69.3). English finished a stupendous fourth in the U.S. Open, before missing the cut at the Shriners Open. He bounced back by finishing 10th in the CJ Cup, T28 at the Zozo and a solid sixth in last week’s RSM Classic. Simply put, three Top-1o finishes in five events makes Harris my top pick to win and cash in this weekend!
