Ohio State University – Scarlet Course
The Scarlet Course is one of two 18-hole layouts on the property, both designed by world-renowned golf course architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie. The golf club was established in 1940, with the Scarlet Course having been completed two years earlier in 1938.
The Scarlet Course is one of the top-rated collegiate courses in the nation and underwent a major restoration project in 2005 and 2006 under the watchful eye of former OSU legend Jack Nicklaus.
On the scorecard, the Scarlet Course is a challenging par-71 that reads approximately 7,440 yards from the back tees. There are three par 5s, four par 3s, and 11 par 4s, with the par 5s all measuring over 560 yards or more. The par 3s are also daunting, with three over 220 yards and the fourth just over 200 yards in length.
