US Open Betting Odds

The board hasn’t changed a whole lot this week, with only minor movements made when the tee times came out. The early betting favorites remain at the top, and the expectation from those inside the ropes this week is that the course will present enough of a challenge that one of those betting favorites will be the winner come Sunday evening.

Outside of outright plays, the round matchups and tournament matchups were also posted earlier this week. Those bets don’t have the large reward of picking an outright winner, but give bettors a 50/50 shot at taking home some money.

US Open Betting Favorites

The betting favorites have remained the same over the last couple of weeks, with Brooks Koepka being the only player who’s made a significant jump over the last month. Koepka won his fifth major last month at the PGA Championship and is now listed at +1000 to win the tournament, leading Rory McIlroy (+1175).

The two players in front of Koepka are Scottie Scheffler (+550) and Jon Rahm (+850). Scheffler looks to capture his second major, while Rahm looks to add his second major win of the season to his resume.

Patrick Cantlay (+1450) rounds out the top five as the 31-year-old California native aims to win his first major title. Viktor Hovland (+1500), fresh off his fifth PGA Tour victory at the Memorial Tournament two weeks ago, is also eyeing his first major triumph.

Another Cali kid, Xander Schauffele (+1700), hopes to build on a U.S. Open resume that includes five top-10 finishes in six tries. Schauffele offers great value for a player who has consistently been one of the best golfers at U.S. Open venues.

Jordan Spieth (+2100), Tyrrell Hatton (+2600), and Cameron Smith (+2600) rounds out the top 10 favorites according to mybookie.ag. Speith won his one and only U.S. Open title in 2015, and Smith is the defending Open Champion. Hatton is another golfer who comes in playing great golf and trying to win a major for the first time.

US Open Betting Darkhorses

We aren’t going to look too far down the list because this tournament won’t lend a great opportunity for those one the second page of the board. There are three names being thrown around but those that follow the game who we like after doing some additional research.

The first is Justin Thomas (+3800). Thomas is a two-time major winner and rarely looked at as an underdog, but the value is too good to pass up here. He is worth a play based on his pedigree alone.

The other two are Adam Scott (+6000) and Corey Conners (+6000). Both of these players are accurate off the tee and possess the iron game to give themselves excellent opportunities for birdie chances.
