With the 2020 PGA Tour Championship set to get underway on Friday, Sept. 4, live from East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, it’s time to take a look at five ‘under the radar’ golfers that look like they’ll all have a decent shot of pulling off the monumental upset at the season-ending event. If you haven’t seen my top five picks to win and cash in this weekend, here they are. Now, let’s take a look at five more players that are offering longer PGA Tour odds, but could still find their respective way into the winner’s circle.

2020 PGA Tour Championship – The Top 5 Under the Radar Picks To Win

Hideki Matsuyama +3000

Currently 10th in the FedEx rankings, the 28-year-old Matsuyama will start at 4-under which isn’t realistically too far to come back from. While he’s yet to record a win this season, the Japanese star does have five Top-10 finishes this season and comes into this event off a T3 at last week’s BMW Championship. Matsuyama ranks 34th in driving distance (305.1) and 25th in birdie average (4.09).

Tony Finau +5500

Ranked 20th in the FedEx standings, the 30-year-old Finau will start at 2-under par. While the Utah native doesn’t have a victory this season, he has recorded seven Top-10 finishes and comes into this season-ending event playing well by sandwiching a T4 at the PGA Championship and fifth place finish last week’s BMW Championship around a missed cut at the Northern Trust. Finau ranks 13th in driving distance (309.6) and 17th in birdie average (4.18).

Patrick Reed +5000

Reed will start at 3-under par, but he should have a decent chance after recording seven Top-10 finishes this season to go along with a win in the WGC Championships-Mexico in February. More importantly, Reed has racked up seven straight Top-50 finishes with a pair of Top-10 finishes along the way. Reed ranks a stellar ninth in birdie average (4.29).

Sung-Jae Im +8000

Currently eighth in the FedEx standings, Sung-Jae Im will start at 4-under par and six shots behind prohibitive favorite Dustin Johnson. While he’ll have a tall task o hand in trying to overcome a six-stroke deficit, the 22-year-old South Korean could very well pull off the upset. In 25 events played this season, Im has one win at the Honda Classic in March, one second place finish and two third place finishes and seven Top-10 finishes overall. Yes, Im has missed two cuts in his last four outings, but he did finish T9 at the Wyndham Championship last month and comes into this one off a T56 at the BMW Championship last weekend. Yes, he’s a longshot, but he’s talented and withing decent striking distance of the leaders.

Billy Horschel +15000

Currently 30th in the FedEx rankings, the 33-year-old Horschel will start at even par in this tournament. Yes, he’s a massive 10 strokes behind Johnson to open this tiurnament, but the Florida native has recorded six Top-10 finishes this season and ranks an encouraging 48th in birdie average (3.95). Horschel finished second at the Wyndham Championship three weeks ago and has a puncher’s chance.
