NFL Arizona Cardinals Betting Analysis: Updated Super Bowl Odds

In NFL Week 13, Kyler Murray returned to the field, which is one of the reasons the Arizona Cadinals so easily dismantled the Chicago Bears 33-22 on the road. Zona, who doesn’t often play in the cold, seemed to enjoy it on Sunday. Beating the Bears doesn’t mean much. But it is a sign that Zona, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, is one of the NFC’s top Super Bowl contenders. Check out why you should consider putting a few dollars behind Murray and his mates to win Super Bowl LVI. Let’s jump right into action so you can keep planning your bets against the Super Bowl odds.

Why Bet on the Cardinals to Win Super Bowl LVI?

Super Bowl LVI

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022
  • Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
  • TV / Streaming: NBC / Peacock

Kyler Murray and Zona’s offense is impossible to stop

Murray hadn’t played in three straight games. But on Sunday, he showed it doesn’t matter how much time he misses. He can still dominate.

Kyler threw for just 123 yards. But he completed 11-of-15 and threw 2 TD passes. Murray also rushed for 59 yards on 10 carries and scored a couple of rushing TDs.

The best part about the Cardinals’ Week 13 performance is how they dropped 33 points onto the Bears while averaging under 4 yards per carry and with DeAndre Hopkins catching just 2 balls.

The offense is fantastic from top to bottom. No defense can stop the Cardinals.

The Cardinals defense is one of the best in the NFL

Speaking of defense, the Cards’ D is very good. Arizona ranks fifth in total yards allowed and fifth in passing yards allowed.

Opponents average just 205.1 passing yards and 113.7 rushing yards per game. Total yards allowed is 318.8. Teams score 18.5 per against the Cardinals defense.

Also, the defense has 23 takeaways this season in 13 games, ranking fifth in the NFL. Arizona’s turnover ratio is 11-to-23.

The NFC isn’t deep

Perhaps the most important reason to like Arizona is because the Cards offer the highest odds to win the Lombardy Trophy among the three top teams in the NFC.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers are Arizona’s top competition to win the conference.

The Rams are the fourth team to consider. But AZ dominated LAR 37-20 in the first matchup and the game happened at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

Outside of the four teams we mentioned, it’s difficult to see another NFC Super Bowl contender. Maybe Dallas, but the Cowboys have lost 3-of-5 heading into Week 14 and 2 of the 3 losses happened versus Las Vegas and Denver.

AZ is getting healthy at the right time

Arizona lost 1 game with Colt McCoy under center. Now that Murray is healthy, the Cardinals may not lose another game this season.

But Murray isn’t the only one that has gotten healthy. So has DeAndre Hopkins. Chase Edmonds is day-to-day. Once Edmonds returns, the Cardinals will have two legit starting running backs in Edmonds and Jame Connor.

Arizona is getting healthy at the perfect time. Expect the Cardinals to continue their run to the NFC Playoffs’ 1-seed. If that happens, Murray and his mates could be on their way to the Cards’ first Super Bowl victory.

Arizona Cardinals NFL Odds After Free Agency Week 1

Previous Betting News

Given the salary cap setup in the NFL, it is not uncommon to see teams go through a few lean years after dumping salaries in an effort to rebuild from the ground up. That task can often be a little tougher for teams that are playing in one of the tougher divisions in the NFL, as playing catchup with the teams at the top is never an easy task. The NFC West is one of those divisions, with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and LA Rams all teams that have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs and challenging for a Super Bowl this coming season. That leaves the Arizona Cardinals, who finished bottom of the division last season, with a lot of work to do to become competitive in the West. They look like a team ready to take on that challenge, though, as they have made some big moves during the early part of the free agency period. The Cardinals have a lot of work still to do, so look for them to address even more of their needs in the coming weeks. Here’s an overview of the Arizona Cardinals and their NFL Odds as it stands.

Arizona Cardinals Odds After Free Agency W1

Player Movement and Possible Future Moves

It was a disappointing season for the Arizona Cardinals in 2019, finishing 5-10-1 on the year. The reality, though, is that the end result was not entirely unexpected. This is a team that started the season with a new head coach and a major rebuild ahead of them, so the expectation from here on out is that the Cardinals should get better with each passing season. The fact that they have already addressed many of their glaring holes is a positive sign for Arizona fans.

The second season for QB Kyler Murray should see the young man begin to improve, but there is talk that the Cardinals might be looking to bring in Cam Newton, who is now surplus to requirements in Carolina.

No matter who end up under center in Arizona this season, it is clear that he will need more weapons to throw to. The Cardinals made one of the biggest moves of the free agency period to ensure that happens, bringing in DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans. The Cardinals now have a legitimate #1 receiver on their team, which has a lot of folks thinking that they are a potential playoff candidate this coming season. De’Vondre Campbell was brought in to add depth to the linebacker group, as was OL Devon Kennard. One of the more glaring holes for the Cardinals was on the D-line, so they addressed that by signing DT Jordan Phillips to a 3-year deal. They also placed the transition tag on RB Kenyan Drake, which means that he will almost certainly be staying in Arizona.

The Cardinals are almost certainly not done with their wheeling and dealing and will also likely address more of their needs in the draft.

The Arizona Cardinals Odds to Win the Super Bowl

While we certainly expect the Cardinals to be better this season, they are probably still a long way off from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender. There is reason to believe, though, that they could challenge for a Wild Card spot. The Cardinals are currently +4500 to win it all.
