As the NFL season approaches, the oddsmakers have given everyone their odds for the upcoming NFL season. The NFL MVP award is an award that has been dominated by the league’s quarterbacks.
In looking at the odds for the 2022 MVP award, the top 17 favorites are all quarterbacks. With that being said, let’s take a look at who the oddsmakers think will be the quarterbacks with the best odds to win the NFL MVP award this season.
Who Are the Odds Favorites to Win the NFL MVP in 2022?
Josh Allen +700
The Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season, and much of that is because of Josh Allen. Allen has plenty of offensive weapons at his disposal, and as long as he takes care of the football, he should have a very good season. With Buffalo having one of the best teams in the league, Allen should be at or near the top of everyone’s MVP list.
Tom Brady +800
Brady continues to win the battle with Father Time, and he and his Bucs should have another successful season. They play in a weak division, and with Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and newly acquired Julio Jones as his main targets, Brady should put up some good numbers.
Last season he threw for over 5000 yards and 43 touchdowns. If he does that again, Tampa Bay should be in good shape, and he’ll be an MVP candidate.
Patrick Mahomes +900
Even though things just didn’t look right last season, Mahomes threw for nearly 5000 yards and 37 touchdowns. If Kansas City can get some little issues fixed up, Mahomes will have another stellar season. Mahomes won’t have Tyreek Hill this season, as the dynamic wide receiver was traded to Miami.
Kansas City plays in one of the toughest divisions in football, and without Hill, we’ll see if Mahomes is still the same player or not.
Aaron Rodgers +1000
The aging wonder should have one of the best teams in the NFC this season. Even though Davante Adams is no longer a Packer, Rodgers has shown in the past that he doesn’t need star receivers to be successful. With all of the contract issues behind him, Rodgers can now focus on football. We’ll see what he can get done.
Justin Herbert +1000
The young gunslinger is one of the brightest up-and-coming stars in the league. He has a great surrounding cast and has shown all of the tools to be a great quarterback.
The Chargers made a lot of upgrades in the offseason, so they should be able to compete with the Chiefs for the AFC West title. If they do win the West, much of it will be due to Herbert’s play.
Joe Burrow +1200
Joe Burrow had a great 2021 season, and that was with one of the worst offensive lines in football. Cincinnati made a lot of upgrades to the line this offseason, so Burrow should be ready to go. With a nice mix of skill position players, Burrow should have an even better season. Cincinnati made it to the Super Bowl last season, but many are overlooking them this season.
Keep an eye on Burrow, as he could quietly have a great season and lead the Bengals on another long postseason run.
