NFL Week 9 Against the Spread Lines and Betting Picks

NFL Week 9 Against the Spread Lines and Betting Picks

Another week of NFL action is in the books, and we are now at the midway point of the season. It is also trade deadline day today, November 1, so we have to wonder if there will be any more moves made before that window closes. There have been a couple of big one in the past week or so, with Christian McCaffrey heading to San Francisco and Roquan Smith getting ready to suit up with the Baltimore Ravens. There is a good chance we will see some more movement before all is said and done, so just keep that in mind before you start placing your bets for the coming weekend. As we do every week, we will be making out picks for the week, starting with ATS selections. We had our first losing week ATS in Week 8, so let’s see if we can rectify that in Week 9. Let’s get right to our picks against the spread so you can get ready to place your bets on the NFL Odds for Week 9.

Week 9 ATS Betting Picks | 2022 NFL Odds & Predictions

Las Vegas Raiders at Jacksonville Jaguars (+1 ½)

Both of these teams come into Week 9 knowing that their chances of making the playoffs are currently sitting at slim to none. Both teams have just 2 wins on the season, with the Jaguars on a 5-game losing skid. The one thing that these two have in common, besides their overall record, is that they have been in the habit of coming out on the wrong end in close games. In the 5-game streak that the Jaguars are currently on, they have lost those outings by an average of 6 PPG, so they have been somewhat competitive. Despite keeping it close, Jacksonville has failed to cover in those 5 losses, but they 6-2 ATS in their last 8 versus the Raiders, so I like them to snap that streak this weekend.

LA Rams (+3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

We have another close one here, as well as another game featuring a pair of teams not living up to expectations. The Rams, who are the defending Super Bowl champions, are in a hole, sitting at 3-4 on the season, with the offense not looking anything near as potent as it was last season. Over in Tampa, Tom Brady is not looking his best, which may not be surprising given the personal issues he is facing off the field. The Buccaneers are 3-5 on the season and have now lost 3 in a row heading into Week 9. They are also just 1-3 SU in their own building. In terms of the point spread, LA has covered in 9 of their last 10 meetings with the Bucs, including in each of their last 6 visits to Tampa Bay.

Tennessee Titans (+12 ½) at Kansas City Chiefs

Given how the NFL Standings look at the moment, I have to say that I am a little surprised to see the Chiefs favored by such a wide margin in this one. Yes, the Chiefs are still among the best in the league, coming into this one with a 5-2 record, but that is the exact same record as the Titans. More impressive, though, is the fact that Tennessee bounced back from an 0-2 start to reel off 5 straight wins and take the lead in the AFC South. The Titans have covered the spread in each of those last 5 games and are also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings with KC. I like them to keep that streak alive.
