If we were to ask you all who you think will win the Super Bowl, there would probably be several different answers. The Green Bay Packers are as good as advertised and probably considered the favorites at this point. The Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals would probably also be in the conversation, with a few others certainly in the mix. The fact that there would be so many different answers tells you just how unpredictable things have been to this point in the season. The fact of the matter is that with half the season still to come, the teams we are talking about now may have fallen out of favor by the time the playoffs roll around. For now, let’s stick with looking at Week 9 and our O/U picks for the coming weekend so you can get ready to bet against the NFL odds.
Week 9 O/U Picks for the 2021 Season | NFL Betting
Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins (UNDER 46)
It’s common to simply skip over the games that do not look that appealing on any given week, but that means potentially missing out on a winning bet. The recent talk has been about these two teams perhaps swapping QB’s in a trade, but if there was any truth to that story, it seems to have evaporated at this point. Both teams are coming in at 1-7 on the season, with the lack of offense on both sides a big part of why they are struggling. Houston has seen the UNDER hit in 4 of their last 6 games this season, and while the over has been trending for Miami, that changes when they face teams from the AFC South. In those outings, it has been the UNDER that has come up in 5 of the last 6.
Minnesota Vikings at Baltimore Ravens (OVER 49 ½)
The Baltimore Ravens came into the season as one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. They were on a nice 5-game winning streak before getting steamrolled by the Bengals. The Ravens didn’t get to bounce back from that right away, as they had their bye week last weekend. It has been an up and down season for the Minnesota Vikings, who are 3-4 coming into this weekend. If they have designs on making the playoffs, then they need to start putting some wins together right now. As far as the point total goes, the OVER has hit in each of Minnesota’s last 5 games on the road. We have also seen the OVER hit in 5 of the last 6 meetings between these teams.
LA Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles (OVER 50)
As we mentioned at the top of this piece, fortunes can change very quickly in this league. The LA Chargers were hot at the start of the season, quickly jumping out to a 4-1 record, but they have since lost back-to-back games to fall to 4-3. This was always going to be a difficult season for the Eagles, and it has proven to be that, although they are coming off a dominant 44-6 win over an admittedly brutal Detroit Lions team. There are a couple of trends that have me leaning towards the OVER here, the most convincing of which is that the Eagles have seen the OVER hit in 7 of their last 8 meetings with teams from the AFC West.
