Women’s Swimming 10KM Marathon

You want to see some ladies with some great endurance? The Women’s 10KM swimming marathon features 6.21 of swimming.

This could pan out to be a great race.

No American is listed in the Top 8 as far as favorites.

Mariah Denigan and Katie Grimes are in the race, but both listed as major underdogs at +1700.

Maybe, you have a hunch on one of them? In the end, Sharon van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands is the favorite at +130, and our bet to win this race.

She is listed ahead of Ana Marcel Cunha of Brazil, who is +600 and Leonie Beck of Great Britain, at +700.

If you want the safe choice, take the favorite here.

Women’s Golf

Scottie Scheffler won the Men’s golf in thrilling fashion.

Thursday will see the women’s golf continue on.

They are going to have quite the interesting 72 holes.

American Nelly Korda is the favorite to win the event.

The 26 year old from Florida is listed at +400.

She is ahead of Lilla Vu at +900 and Atthaya Thitkul at +1000.

Vu is playing for Team USA as well.

Thitkul is a member of Team Thailand, a country that has not won a ton of medals so far this Olympic games.

Do not be surprised if Thitkul comes out on top here.

Korda and Vu are terrific golfers, but this course is going to prove to be challenging for the Americans.

Thitkul at +1000 seems like a good upset bet to make.

Women’s Taekwondo 57KG

The gold medal for the women’s Taekwondo 57KG will be awarded on Thursday.

The favorite, from China, is Lui Zongshi.

She is listed at +105 to win it all.

Next from Great Britain is Jade Jones at +270.

Third, and our upset pick from Taiwan is Lo Chia-Ling.

We love her ability and her sheer strength.

It would be a great story, and while the +900 is an upset bet, we do not feel it is that big of an upset.

She is one of the best in the world at this.

That’s another potential upset to consider betting.

Men’s Boxing 57KG

Also the gold medal for Men’s Boxing 57KG will be given out on Thursday.

Abdulmalik Khalokov, 23 years old from Uzbekistan is the guy to watch for here.

The odds show what kind of dominance they expect him to have in the title round. He is listed at -370.

The other contenders are Javier Ibanez Diaz from Bulgaria, as he is listed at +500, and Charlie Senior from Australia, who is listed at +1100.

Men’s 110M Hurdles

What a race this is expected to be.

Some of the fastest men in the world are getting ready to run the 110M hurdles.

Thursday is the gold medal round.

Grant Holloway of the United States is one of the biggest favorites at any sport in the Olympics.

Holloway is listed at a whopping -2000.

But, Daniel Roberts is a guy that would love to take down his fellow American.

Roberts is listed at second at +1500.

But, the bed we are going to recommend is the Jamaica – Rasheed Broadbell.

Broadbell comes in at +2000.

20/1 odds to win the gold medal race.

It will be fractions of a second, but why not.

If you are looking for an upset pick, consider Broadbell to win the 110M hurdles!

The United States are still the favorites to win it all, and have been great this Olympic games.

The top three in terms of betting odds to win the MVP are from Team USA.

LeBron James is the favorite at -122, Kevin Durant is next at +450 and Anthony Edwards has been terrific, at +1060.

But, if you are still unsure of the United States team – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Team Canada was good value at +1300, but they fell to Germany.  Franz Wagner of Germany is +1400 and RJ Barrett was Canada is at +1400.

Team USA is -550, Germany is +700.

Olympics Betting Action

The beauty of the Olympics is that if you want to get weird, there are plenty of opportunities to bet on non-traditional events.

This Thursday’s Olympic schedule is light on sports that most bettors wager on on a daily basis.

Many sportsbooks offer lines on sports they wouldn’t usually consider.

The men’s and women’s race walking finals, informally known as speed walking, will take place on Thursday.

Pool play for beach volleyball, 3×3 basketball, and other events will keep bettors occupied.

Here’s a look at the opportunities available for Thursday.

Writer’s Picks on the Top Events on Thursday

Martin Would Like to Finish Off Decade-Long Quest

Spanish racewalker Alvaro Martin wants to finish his long trek to a gold medal on Thursday.

This is Martin’s fourth time qualifying for the Olympics in race walking, and he has been progressively improving.

Martin is the betting favorite at +125, which would have been hard to guess 12 years ago.

Martin didn’t even finish the 20-kilometer event during the 2012 games in London, but his time has steadily improved over the past decade.

He finished fourth in the 2021 Olympics and has continued to improve his time.

Martin won the 2023 World Championships at 1:17:32, and edged out Swede Perseus Karlstrom by seven seconds to win the gold medal.

Karlstrom has the second-best odds at +250.

Koki Ikeda, the defending silver medalist, may also be worth looking at +350.

The Olympics have been rough on Martin, so it may be worth looking at Ikeda at 3.5 to one to bring home the gold medal.

Perez is a Heavy Favorite in Women’s Race walking

Spaniard Maria Perez has been one of the top race walkers in the world for the past few seasons.

During the 2023 World Championships, Perez won the 20km and 35 km races.

During the 20km race, Perez ended up winning by 25 seconds.

Perez is -182 to win the event.

Australian Jemima Montag finished second at Worlds and is priced at +450 to win.

Antonella Palmisano, who finished third at Worlds, is +250 to win.

It’s tough to not like Perez to win this event.

She has dominated the past few races and will be difficult for anyone to keep up with.

Perez finished in fourth at the last Olympics, but seems to have figured things out since then.

USA Women Prepare for Belgium

The United States women’s basketball team has won seven straight gold medals.

The Americans dominated Japan in their opener, building an 11-point halftime lead before coasting to a 26-point victory.

Belgium as a team that some people looked at a darkhorse to medal.

Belgium played well at Euros and was led by Emma Meeseeman, who helped lead the Washington Mystics to a championship a few years ago.

But the Belgians landed flat against Germany during their first game.

Belgium only scored 69 points and looked disjointed on offense.

Appearing weak in front of the United States, which is a 23.5-point favorite, won’t go well for any potential opponent.

A’Ja Wilson scored a team-high 24 points for Team USA during their first game and added 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

The over/under is set at 162.5 points.

The USA should cover the spread in this game.

The Americans received some criticism for their roster selection coming into the tournament.

But expect the USA women to make that all look silly as the competition goes along.

Can Scheffler Win at the Olympics?

This has been Scottie Scheffler’s year.

Save for when he got arrested during the PGA Championship, Scheffler won the Masters and recently finished seventh at The Open Championship.

One neat thing about betting on golf is you don’t have to bet on who will win the tournament.

Instead, sports books usually pair golfers together and treat it like a head to head match.

Scheffler is -150 on the three-way moneyline to finish with a better score than young golfer Ludvig Aberg, who is +163.

Aberg, 24, has been steadily improving his reputation over the past few seasons.

Aberg picked up his first win on the PGA Tour last November at the RSM Classic.

This is a good spot to back Scheffler to beat a younger golfer.

Scheffler also would like to try and add a gold medal at the Olympics.

Other than the Ryder Cup, playing for your country doesn’t come into play too often during regular play on the PGA Tour.

Denmark Looks to Keep Battling Back

Things didn’t look great for the Danes’ women’s handball team during a match with Sweden on Tuesday.

Denmark was trailing by two goals with seven minutes remaining after seeing pulling the goalie for an extra attacker backfire twice.

But the Danish defense shut down Sweden down the stretch to pick up a 25-23 victory.

Denmark, which is a 3.5-goal favorite against Germany Thursday, is now tied in a three-way tie for first place with Norway and Sweden Germany would like to try and break up that tie.

The Germans are 1-2 thus far.

Germany was competitive in a match with Sweden, losing 31-28.

This one should also be close and expect Germany to cover the spread.

Wanderley and Stein Look to Build Momentum

The Brazilian beach volleyball pair of Greg Wanderley and Andre Stein would like to complete their turnaround.

During their first match at this tournament, Wanderley and Stein laid an egg in the Pool D opener, losing to a Cuban team.

Wandeley and Stein bounced back by sweeping a Moroccan team to set up a battle with the American team of miles Partian Andy Benesh.

Partian and Benesh had also been tripped up by the Cuban team as well.

They rebounded by beating the Moroccan team of Zouheir El Graoui and Mohamed Abicha in straight sets.

The United States won that match in straight sets.

Partian and Benesh are the youngest pairing in Olympic men’s volleyball history.

Partian and Benesh, who are +120 underdogs, will have a lot of playing time together in the future.

Back George and Andre to win at -167.
