NFL Playoffs Betting Predictions: AFC Conference Championship Possible Matches

The Wild Card Weekend did not really live up to its name, as we saw 5 of the 6 favorites win and move on to the Divisional Round. The only home favorite not to win were the Dallas Cowboys, who made mistake after mistake on their way to an opening round loss to the San Francisco 49ers. In the AFC, things went according to the odds, so the Divisional Round matchups are exactly as most of us expected. Once this weekend is over, two teams will move on to meet up in the AFC Conference Final, but who will that be? Let’s take a look at the possibilities, starting with the most likely and working back from there so you can bet against the AFC Championship odds.

AFC Conference Final: Early Possible Matchups

Tennessee Titans Vs Kansas City Chiefs

I think most football fans would agree that this looks to be the most likely of the AFC Conference Final matchups. The Tennessee Titans are rested and will have Derrick Henry back in the fold for their game versus the Bengals. On the flipside, the Chiefs have themselves a very tough outing against the Buffalo Bills, who looked great in destroying the Patriots last weekend. This would be a great final, but it’s certainly not guaranteed.

One the face of it, the Titans looks to be a very good bet at home to the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that not many people thought would be in this position. I have them as the most likely to win out of all 4 games this weekend, but who really knows in these one-off games? The Bills have a tough trip to KC to look forward to, but they have reason to be optimistic after totally blowing out the New England Patriots last weekend. It would not be a huge upset if they beat the Chiefs and moved on.

Cincinnati Bengals Vs Kansas City Chiefs

Make no mistake about it, this is a very good Cincinnati Bengals team, but it still feels as though they are perhaps a year removed from making a serious run at the Super Bowl. They are a confident group, and it is worth noting that they are 6-4 SU in their last 10 meetings with the Tennessee Titans. Those types of trends very often go out the window once we get to the playoff, but you can never really count any team out at this stage of the proceedings. For the Chiefs, this would probably be their better matchup for them, but you know they are not taking anyone for granted.

Cincinnati Bengals Vs Buffalo Bills

What are the chances of the two AFC underdogs going on the road this weekend and coming away with the win? History would suggest that those chances are slim, but they are also not totally out of the question. The Bengals look like a team with no fear who truly believe that they can go on and win it all, while the Buffalo Bills seem to be hitting their stride at just the right time. I don’t see a lot of people rushing to make this wager, but in the playoffs, anything can happen.
