Team USA Betting to Win Ryder Cup

Team USA consists of six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks. The 2023 Ryder Cup captain is Zach Johnson, with vice-captains Steve Stricker, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Fred Couples, and Stewart Cink.

The six automatic qualifiers were Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. The captain’s picks went to Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, and Justin Thomas.

Team Europe Betting to Win Ryder Cup

For Team Europe, the team makeup was similar to that of , with six qualifiers and six captains picks. The captain of the European team is Luke Donald, and he will be joined by vice-captains Thomas Bjorn, Edoardo Molinari, Nicolas Colsaerts, Jose Maria Olazabal, and Francesco Molinari.

Team Europe consists of automatic qualifiers Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Tyrell Hatton, and Matt Fitzpatrick. Donald selected Tommy Fleetwood, Sepp Straka, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Robert MacIntyre, Nicolai Hojgaard, and Ludvig Aberg to round out the team.

Ryder Cup History in Europe

The United States took care of business two years ago in the U.S., but Team USA has failed to pick up a victory across the pond in their last six tries. The last time the U.S. won on European soil was in 1993 at The Belfry in Warwickshire, England.

The Europeans dominated five years ago in France, defeating the United States, 17.5-10.5, in the 42nd edition of the Ryder Cup. Justin Thomas was the top U.S. point scorer, gaining four of five possible points.

Ryder Cup Odds to Win

Even with the recent history of struggles in Europe, the United States are a consensus favorite heading into this year’s Ryder Cup. Team USA’s odds to win are -120, while Team Europe currently sits at +119. A chance of a draw is unlikely, with odds of +1175 of it happening.

Each team will have four Ryder Cup rookies on their roster. Of the eight veterans for Team USA, only Rickie Fowler sports a losing record. On the European side, Rose leads the group with a 13-8-2 all-time record.

On paper, the European team looks to have the edge coupled with the home-field advantage. However, the individual records speak for themselves for Team USA, and this will be the year for the United States to break Europe’s winning streak.
