The PGA Championship heads to Oklahoma in a few weeks. Southern Hill Championship Course is the venue for this year’s PGA Championship, which includes 18 former PGA Champions. All the eyes will be waiting for the final field list, which is set to be announced next Friday, May 13th.
As of now, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are both expected to play in the tournament. Woods has not played since his return at Augusta National earlier this year and is committed to playing at the PGA Championship. With all the drama surrounding Mickelson, the reigning PGA Champion is set to return to the PGA Tour for this event.
Let’s take a look at the top odds in the tournament and who could bring home the Wanamaker Trophy so you can place your bets against the PGA Championship Odds.
Updated PGA Championship Betting Odds | May 5th Edition
Jon Rahm +1100
Like most tournaments this season, Jon Rahm is the current favorite to win the 2022 PGA Championship. Rahm won his first major last season, the U.S. Open, at Torrey Pines. Rahm has won two tournaments in his career at Torrey Pines.
Rahm is currently coming off a win last week at the Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta. With the one-stroke victory, Rahm earned his first victory of the season. Many analysts and fans have expected a big season for the Spaniard.
In 10 events this season, Rahm has one win and four other top-10 finishes. He has yet to miss a cut.
Rory McIlroy +1200
No stranger to winning the PGA Championship, Rory McIlroy is back for another run at the Wanamaker Trophy. The two-time PGA Champion has the second-best odds going into this year’s event. What will it take for McIlroy to capture his third PGA Championship?
As a young buck, McIlroy won his first PGA Championship in 2012 at Kiawah Islands, which happened to be the host course last year. In 2014, McIlroy captured his second PGA Championship at Valhalla.
It has not been the best season nor the worst for McIlroy in the 2021-22 scheduled year. McIlroy has played in just seven events, finishing inside the top-10 in three of those events. One other event he has missed the cut in.
Justin Thomas +1200
Justin Thomas shares the second-best odds with McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. Thomas is a former PGA Champion after his win at Quail Hollow in 2017. A win this week would be his second PGA Championship victory and his second major title.
Thomas has not won since last season at The Players Championship. While the wins have not accumulated, in nine events this season, Thomas has five top-10 finishes. He is playing good golf, just not enough to rack up the wins.
Thomas had a top-10 finish at The Masters, and in his last appearance at the RBC Heritage, he finished T-35.
Scottie Scheffler +1200
As mentioned, Scottie Scheffler is tied with McIlroy and Thomas for the second-best odds in the tournament. Scheffler is off to one of the best starts in PGA Tour history. The current #1 player in the world has four wins in eight events this season.
Scheffler won the first major of the year, The Masters. Could Scheffler be in business for a grand slam performance?
