Houston Astros vs Seattle Mariners Betting Analysis – ALDS Game 3 Prediction

After taking the first two games of the series, the Houston Astros (2-0) will look to win the ALDS as they take on their AL West rivals, the Seattle Mariners (0-2). The Mariners will host this one at T-Mobile Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:07 pm ET.

On Thursday, the Astros won the second game of the series 4-2. In the win, both Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez went deep in the contest. Hector Neris picked up the win in relief, while Ryan Pressly picked up his first save of the postseason.

Despite taking the loss, Luis Castillo was sensational for the Mariners. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out seven. The offense was able to get two runs in the fourth but did very little else, as they only managed five hits on the day.

The Astros open as slight favorites playing on the road. They are -116 to win, while the Mariners’ moneyline sits at -102. The runline features Seattle +1.5 (-184), and the over/under for total runs is seven. With all that being said, it’s time to look at our preview for game 3 so you can continue placing your bets against their MLB Odds.

ALDS Game Three Betting Preview for Astros vs Mariners Series

Astros Look To Make It Six In A Row

The Astros are just one win away from moving on. In fact, they are just one win away from making it to their sixth straight ALCS, the longest such streak in American League history.

Trying to pick up the win and the sweep of the Mariners will be righty Lance McCullers Jr. During the regular season, McCullers went 4-2 with a 2.27 ERA in eight starts. He also had a 1.24 WHIP and had 50 strikeouts in 47.2 innings of work after returning from injury.

McCullers took the loss in his last outing, but it was due to no fault of his own. He only allowed one earned run in six innings to the Phillies, but the offense couldn’t get things done. In his last three starts, he has allowed five earned runs in 19 innings. In that span, he allowed 14 hits and struck out 24.

Offensively, what more can you say about Yordan Alvarez? He has now set a record as the only player to ever have two go-ahead home runs in the sixth inning or later of a playoff game when his team was losing.

Now sitting with seven runs batted in, he has almost single-handedly broken the hearts of the Mariners in the first two games of this series.

Mariners Look For Home Field Advantage With Season On The Line

Now down two games to none, the Seattle Mariners know that their backs are up against the wall as a loss ends their season. They will look to keep their hopes alive with a win at T-Mobile Park, where they were 46-35 this season.

Manager Scott Servais will send rookie George Kirby to the mound with the season on the line. In 25 games this season, Kirby went 8-5 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and he struck out 133 in 130 innings.

Kirby actually pitched in relief during the Wild Card series, picking up a save in the second game after firing a scoreless inning.

Offensively, the team is waiting for Julio Rodriguez to have his moment. Through four games, he is hitting just .250/.400/.500 with no home runs and two runs batted in.

The best hitter for the Mariners has been Eugenio Suarez, who is hitting .375/.412/.688 with a home run and three runs batted in.

Take Astros To Finish The Series

It is tough to bet against Houston in this one. Looking at the trends, they are 6-1 in their last seven games, and they are a whopping 8-1 in their last nine games against Seattle.

Additionally, Houston has gone 9-2 in their last 11 on the road, meaning that they have been a tough team to face regardless of the venue.

Seattle does come in having won five of their last seven, but it is hard to know how the 24-year-old George Kirby will react in such a pressure-filled start.

Expect T-Mobile Park to be rocking on Saturday, but those cheers may turn to sorrow when it is all over.

Take Houston to win on Saturday at -116.
