The Adelaide International officially kicked off on Friday, January 5. The Round of 32 didn’t start until Monday, which gives tennis handicappers plenty of time to lock onto winning bets.
Because tennis odds are difficult to come by, check out the top four seeds for both the men’s and women’s sides, see the picks, and then look for decent odds on the players chosen to go far in the tournament.
Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming 2024 Adelaide International tournament so you can bet against ATP betting lines.

Adelaide International Men’s Singles Picks
- Tommy Paul
- Nicolas Jarry
- Sebastian Korda
- Lorenzo Musetti
- Sebastian Baez
Winner: Sebastian Korda
Third seed Sebastian Korda finished second in last year’s Adelaide. Korda lost to Novak Dokovic, who won’t play in the 2024 Adelaide.
Although Korda didn’t win a tournament last season, he won 26 and lost just 16. Korda knows what’s required to win at the Adelaide International. Take Sebastian Korda seriously to get it done.
Runner up: Tommy Paul
Paul had a terrific 2023. The top seed in this pocketed over $2.93 million after winning 41 singles matches and losing jut 28.
At the Australian Open last year, Paul made it all the way to the semifinals. Novak Djokovic ended Paul’s major title dreams, which tells us Paul can hang with the best of the best.
Best Underdog Play: Jack Draper
Draper has already knocked out 5-seed Sebastian Baez. The top underdog has notched his ticket to the Round of 16. If Draper continues playing well, he will be tough to beat.
Don’t forget that Djoker, Alcaraz, and Zverev won’t play at the 2024 Adelaide International. A rising star like Draper for sure would win the title.

Adelaide International Women’s Singles Picks
- Elena Rybakina
- Jessica Pegula
- Marketa Vondrousova
- Barbora Krejcikova
- Beatriz Haddad Maia
Winner: Marketa Vondrousova
Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Ons Jabeur will skip the Adelaide International, which is why Elene Rybakina is the top seed. Rybakina could win this, but she may take practice shots to prepare of the upcoming Australian Open.
3-seed Market Vondrousova won a single title last year. The win spearheaded an over $4 million season because Vondrousova took top prize at Wimbledon. Marketa also played well at the US Open, losing in the quarters.
Runner up: Jessica Pegula
2023 was a banner year for Jessica Pegula. The projected runner up won 2 singles titles and 2 doubles titles.
Pegula went 59-18 in singles matches last year. She was a contender in every major. She won’t have to step it up much to beat the top choice.
Best Underdog Play: Barbora Krejcikova
Like Pegula, Krejcikova won 2 singles titles last season. Unlike Pegula, the victories didn’t happen in top tournaments. Krejcikova also won 4 doubles titles.
The singles record in 2023, 34-19, is good enough to make her a contender. Krejcikova is only an underdog because she ranks lower than Rybakina, Pegula, and Vondrousova.

Tennis Betting Preview and Picks for the ATP & WTA 250: 2023 Adelaide International 1
An ATP and WTA 250 tournament, the Adelaide International 1 is one of three tournaments played during the first week of the 2023 season. There’s a star-studded field on both the men’s and women’s sides as players get acclimated to Australia and prepare for the Australian Open, which begins on January 15.
There’s plenty of excitement and anticipation in Australia right now as Novak Djokovic has had his Visa reinstated and is eligible to play in the upcoming Grand Slam, where he will have a chance to tie Rafael Nadal for the all-time lead in Grand Slam victories with 22. The women’s draw includes top players like Ons Jabeur, Elena Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka. Let’s have a closer look at the favorites to win the Women’s, and Men’s tournament so you can bet on their WTA Odds and ATP Odds respectively.
Round of 32 Updates
The qualifying matches for Adelaide International were held over the weekend, and due to the time difference in Australia, we’re already well into the Round of 32. The men’s draw has already featured a pair of unexpected upsets, as both Felix Auger-Aliassime and Holger Rune are out of the tournament.
Auger-Aliassime had won three of four tournaments before the ATP Finals and is a popular pick to win his first Grand Slam in Australia. However, the world No. 6 player lost in straight sets to qualifier Alexei Popyrin. A native of Australia, Popyrin had only two prior wins against top-10 opponents, but both of those came via retirement. Rune, meanwhile, lost to Yoshihito Nishioka.
The biggest upset on the women’s side so far has been Linda Noskova’s 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3 victory over world No. 8 Daria Kasatkina. Noskova, an 18-year-old native of Czechia, is playing in just her fifth main draw on the WTA Tour and has yet to beat an opponent in the top 30, let alone the top 10.
Men’s Betting Pick
Djokovic, playing in Australia for the first time in two years, opened as the tournament betting favorite, and it’d be difficult not to pick him to win the tournament, despite a crowded field that also includes Andrey Rublev, Daniil Medvedev, and Jannik Sinner. Djokovic won the ATP Finals and is most dominant in Australia on the hard courts.
He is, however, on the same side of the draw as Medvedev, who will be just as determined to gain some momentum in the lead-up to the Australian Open. Djokovic is 8-4 against Medvedev in his career and has won three in a row, including at the ATP Finals last November.
Women’s Betting Pick
While Ons Jabeur is the outright betting favorite to win the tournament, she’ll face tough competition from the likes of Elena Rybakina and Liudmila Samsonova.
Rybakina, who won Wimbledon last year with a finals victory over Jabeur, won her Round of 32 matches against American Danielle Collins and will play Marta Kostyuk in the Round of 16. She could meet Jabeur once again in the quarter-finals. Rybakina was the runner-up at last year’s event, losing to the now-retired Ashleigh Barty in the finals.

Tennis Betting Preview and Must Bet Games for the ATP 250: 2023 Adelaide International 2
A combined ATP Tour 250 and WTA Tour 500 event, the Adelaide International 2 is a relatively new event for both tours. The inaugural event on the ATP Tour was held last season and won by Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis. This year’s event, which takes place from January 9 to 14 in Adelaide, South Australia, is headlined by world No. 8 Andrey Rublev. The only other top 25 players at the event are Pablo Carreno Busta (No. 13), Karen Khachanov (No. 20), and Roberto Bautista Agut (No. 21).
This is the final week before the year’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open. Several other top players participated in the Adelaide International 1 last week, which was won by Novak Djokovic. The 21-time Grand Slam winner is able to play at the Australian Open this year and could tie Rafael Nadal for the most career Grand Slam victories in Australia. Let’s have a look at the current ATP Odds to win the Adelaide International 2, and some Round of 32 matches to bet on.
Adelaide International 2 Outright Odds
- Andrey Rublev +320
- Karen Khachanov +700
- Roberto Bautista Agut +800
- Pablo Carreno Busta +800
- Emil Ruusuvuori +1200
- Tommy Paul +1400
- Miomir Kecmanovic +1400
- Jack Draper +1400
- Dan Evans +1400
- Thanasi Kokkinakis +1600
Benjamin Bonzi (+120) vs Maxime Cressy (-150)
Although they’ve both been playing on the ATP Tour for several years, Tuesday’s Round of 32 matches is the first meeting between Benjamin Bonzi and Maxime Cressy. The winner will advance to play Bautista Agut who, as the fourth seed, earns an automatic bye into the Round of 16.
Cressy, a 25-year-old American, lost his first match of the new year at Adelaide 1 against Kokkinankis. He won his first career title last season at Newport on grass, but isn’t quite as proficient on the hard court. Bonzi is a much better hard court player, with a career record of 153-69. He’s also coming off of a finals appearance at the Maharashtra Open, where he lost to Tallon Griekspoor.
Cressy has the advantage of being more rested here, whereas Bonzi played Saturday night and is coming off of five matches in six days. Still, considering Bonzi’s superiority on the hard court, it’s hard to bet against the French player. Expect a three-set victory.
Emil Ruusuvuori (-125) vs Mikael Ymer (+100)
Emil Ruusuvuori is a potential breakout player to watch this season, although he got off to a slow start last week. The 23-year-old Finn lost his first-round match at the Maharashtra Open to eventual finalist Bonzi. He was originally scheduled to play Sebastian Korda, but the American withdrew after making the finals of Adelaide International 1. Mikael Ymer, the world No. 77, lost in the first round of the Adelaide International 1 and earned entry into this week’s event through qualifiers.
Ruusuvuori is 2-1 in his career against Ymer. He lost to him last August at the Citi Open, but beat him twice in 2021. The winner of Tuesday’s match faces American Mackenzie McDonald, who upset Dan Evans in the first round.
While it’s tempting to take Ymer at even money, Ruusuvuori should take this in what should be a competitive, three-set affair. Ruusuvuori at 2-1 is paying out +300.
