2023 Davis Cup Odds for the Men’s Group Stage Betting

With the US Open, the final grand slam of the season, completed, the tennis world turns its collective attention to team competition this week with the group stage of the 2023 Davis Cup. There are 16 teams remaining in the competition, divided into four groups of four, and the top two in each group will qualify for November’s finals in Spain.

The group stage will have each team play the other three teams in the group in a best-of-three format with two singles matches and one doubles match.

The group stage matches are in four different locations: Bologna, Italy, Manchester, England, Valencia, Spain; and Split, Croatia. Canada are the defending champions and the top seed, with Australia, Spain, and Croatia as the other seeded teams.

MyBookie has all the best 2023 Davis Cup odds for all the matches during the tennis tournament.

Tough Draw for Americans

Frances Tiafoe is coming off a great US Open run to the quarterfinals, and he’s on the brink of a return to the top 10 in the world. Now he leads Team USA into Group D with matches to be played September 12-7 in Split, Croatia, on indoor hard courts. The USA and Croatia are joined by the Netherlands and Finland in this group.

The US opens as underdogs against No. 4 seed Croatia on Wednesday before facing the Netherlands a day later and Finland on Saturday. The US and the Netherlands both lost in the quarterfinals last season, while Croatia reached the semifinals in 2022 and lost in the finals in 2021.

In the opener, Tommy Paul is a -200 favorite against Croatia’s Borna Coric, who is +155. Meanwhile, Croatia’s Borna Gojo is a -149 favorite against American Mackenzie McDonald +118. Keep an eye on the odds during the week, as matchups can change due to injury.

Showdown in Group B

Australia made the finals last year, but they have a tough task this year in the group stage, facing England in Manchester. Australia hasn’t won the Davis Cup in 20 years, back when captain Lleyton Hewitt was a star player. England won it in 2015, their first title in 79 years.

Veteran Andy Murray is back to lead the England side, and he went 11-0 during that 2015 run. Murray is joined by a young roster of Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, and Jack Draper, who just reached the fourth round at the US Open

Australia will be favored on Wednesday at the AO Arena in Manchester. Alex de Minaur won seven of his eight singles matches last year, and will be a tough match for Norrie. Doubles pair Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden, Wimbledon champs in 2022, are favored to take the doubles point for Australia.

France, a quarterfinalist last year, and Switzerland, with veteran Stan Wawrinka, are also in Group B. Youngster Arthur Fils joins Adrian Mannarino and Ugo Humbert on the French side, while Switzerland has a relatively young and underdog side.

Changing Rosters

Keep an eye on the changing rosters when looking at the odds and bets at MyBookie for the Davis Cup. Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz pulled out of Davis Cup earlier this week after his run to the US Open semifinals. Italy lost both Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini after the US Open as well. Novak Djokovic is playing for Serbia, and the top-ranked player in the world will be a heavy favorite every time he takes the court in Group C.
