Top 8 Seeds at the 2024 WTA Dubai Duty Free

  • Iga Swiatek
  • Aryna Sabalenka
  • Coco Gauff
  • Elena Rybakina
  • Ons Jabeur
  • Zheng Qinwen
  • Marketa Vondrousova
  • Maria Sakari

2024 WTA Dubai Duty Free Picks

First: Aryna Sabalenka

So far in 2024, Sabalenka has dominated. Aryna is 11-1. Not only is Sabalenka 11-1, but her single match loss came against Elen Rybakina in the Brisbane International Final.

Sabalenka made up for the loss by beating Coco Gauff in the finals at the Australian Open. Ranked second in the world, Sabalenka is outplaying number one Iga Swiatek. Give Aryna the nod to win another title.

Second: Coco Gauff

Coco and Sabalenka is turning into a great rivalry. Gauff beat Sabalenka at the 2023 U.S. Open Final. Aryna exacted revenge at the Australian Open, knocking Gauff out in the semifinals.

Gauff didn’t make it easy on Sabalenka, forcing a tiebreaker in the first set and falling 6-4 in the second. If anybody can beat the top pick, it’s Coco Gauff.

Underdog: Zheng Qinwen

Qinwen should offer overlay odds to upset Swiatek, Gauff, and Sabalenka and win the Dubai Duty Free. The young player from China, Qinwen is just 21, has gone 8-2 in singles matches this season.

Qinwen didn’t perform great at the Qatar Total Energies Open in her last. But that was a warmup to this. Also, the loss to Leylah Fernandez in the third round in that tournament will boost her odds to win the Dubai Duty Free. Consider for sure.

Top 8 Seeds at the 2024 ATP Dubai Duty Free

  • Daniil Medvedev
  • Andrey Rublev
  • Herbert Hurkacz
  • Karen Khachanov
  • Ugo Humbert
  • Adrian Mannarino
  • Alexander Bublik
  • Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

2024 ATP Dubai Duty Free Picks

First: Andrey Rublev

Eventual Australian Open champ Jannik Sinner ended Andrey Rublev’s Aussie run. Rublev played great in defeat, falling after 3 sets and a tiebreaker.

Andrey is playing in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open this week in preparation for next week’s Dubai Duty Free. When odds land, consider Rublev for sure because his top competition, Daniil Medvedev, comes off a tough Australian Open.

Second: Daniil Medvedev

By tough, we don’t mean that Daniil didn’t play well at the Aussie Open. In fact, Medvedev played great. We mean tough as in physically challenging.

Daniil played a total of 31 sets and 6 tiebreakers. That’s a ton of work. For sure, Medvedev is strong enough to bounce back with a great effort. However, the defending Dubai Duty Free champ is going to offer close to underlay odds. Back only if you believe.

Underdog: Ugo Humbert

Humbert won the 2024 Open 13 Provenance. He’s got tremendous talent. That talent may be coming together.

So even though Ugo fell to Emil Ruusuvuori at the first round of the ABN Amro Open in his last, we shouldn’t hold it against him. Humbert, for sure, can get it done in Dubai. Also, the odds should be more than fair.

ATP 500 Predictions: 2023 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Previous Betting News

The Dubai Duty-Free tennis tournament is off and running on Monday, with some of the best players in the world taking the court in the United Arab Emirates. Included in that group are players like Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev. Here, we look at the ATP odds, tournament draw and what players could end up making a run to the title in this ATP 500-level event.

Tennis Predictions: ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Possible Djokovic/Medvedev Semifinal

When the draw for this tournament came out, the thing that stuck out the most was the fact that Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev are in the same half of the draw. That means a final between the two stars is impossible, as they would have to meet in the semifinals if they get that far. With the draw around them being incredibly favorable, it is incredibly likely that we see a Djokovic vs Medvedev semifinal in Dubai.

However, Medvedev could run into some fatigue-related issues after making a run to the title in Doha last week. He had to overcome a stern challenge from Andy Murray in the final, winning that 250-level tournament. It is incredibly hard to make deep runs in tournaments in consecutive weeks on the ATP Tour, so it will be worth keeping an eye on Medvedev’s fitness levels leading up to a potential semifinal against Djokovic.

FAA Could Reach Final

On the other half of the draw, things could line up nicely for Felix Auger-Aliassime to reach a 500-level final in Dubai. His half of the draw includes Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev as the other marquee players, with Zverev only recently returning from a devastating ankle injury suffered at the 2022 French Open. As a result, it could be the Canadian that makes a run to the final at this tournament.

Rublev is another major contender to get to the final from that half of the draw, in spite of his consistency issues. If Rublev can avoid blasting his forehand into the net and wide, which is a regular issue for him, he could find a way through the draw to set up a championship match with either Djokovic or his countryman in Medvedev.

Djokovic To Crush Competition

At the end of the day, the Dubai Duty Free tennis tournament is likely to go the way of Novak Djokovic. He should have the edge over his rival in Medvedev, thanks to the sheer amount of tennis that Medvedev has had to play over the last week or so. Outside of Medvedev, he should be a convincing favorite over every player left in the draw, as Djokovic’s run of dominance in 2023 will continue.

For those willing to be more adventurous in the outright betting markets for this tournament, Auger-Aliassime or Karen Khachanov could be worth taking a look at. Khachanov is coming off of a deep run at the Australian Open, and has beaten Djokovic in a big match in the Paris Masters final a few seasons ago. As unlikely as it will be, these two players could get it done in Dubai.

Previous Betting News

This week there are a few key ATP 500 events going on around the country. One of the most important events is the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship. It has a loaded field and will play a part in determining the next #1 player in the world.

There are five things that we are keeping a close eye on this week in Dubai so you can bet against the ATP Betting Odds. Read on to find out what those five things are.

2022 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Expert Analysis | Tennis Betting

Novak Djokovic Returns

World No. 1 When Djokovic competes in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for the first time this season, he will be making his season debut. The Serbian begins against #NextGenATP Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who has won the ATP 500 tournament five times (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015).

It’s a crucial week in his battle with Medvedev for the top place in the ATP Rankings. If Medvedev wins the Acapulco championship, he will become World No. 1 for the first time.

With a deep run in Dubai, Djokovic can put pressure on Medvedev. Djokovic can’t control what Medvedev does in the other event, but he can certainly ensure that his ascension to the top is not easy.

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov are Canadian Threats

Auger-Aliassime and Shapovalov have had excellent beginnings to the season, assisting Canada in winning the ATP Cup in Sydney and Auger-Aliassime winning his first tour-level championship in Rotterdam.

Last year, Shapovalov reached the semi-finals in Dubai, and he’ll face Marton Fucsovics in the first round of the 2022 tournament, hoping to lay the stage for another deep run.

The Hungarian won their only prior meeting at the 2020 Australian Open in four sets. Auger-Aliassime will make his Dubai debut in the first round, where he will face Nikoloz Basilashvili, a Doha finalist.

Will Andrey Rublev be able to keep his form?

Rublev enters Dubai fresh off a title-winning run in Marseille. In 2021, the Russian went to the semi-finals in Dubai after reaching the last four in Rotterdam earlier this month.

In his first encounter, the second seed takes against Daniel Evans of the United Kingdom.

Hubert Hurkacz and Jannik Sinner Aim For First Title In 2022

Hurkacz and Sinner both had outstanding seasons in 2021, earning a combined seven tour-level titles. They’re both still looking for their first titles in 2022, and they’re hoping to win in Dubai.

Sinner will face fourth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, while Hurkacz will face Montpellier champion Alexander Bublik.

Top Seeds In Doubles are Loaded

In Dubai, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic will continue their quest for their first championship of the season as the top seeds. Rajeev Ram and Joe Sailsbury, an American-British duo, are the second seeds, followed by John Peers and Filip Polasek. The fourth seeds are Tim Puetz and Michael Venus.

With this field of doubles, it should be a very good tournament as any of these duos have the ability to win the event. Look for this to be a very competitive session for these doubles players.
