Betting 2024 3M Open | Know the Basics

The 3M Open will take place this weekend in Blaine Minnesota.

TPC Twin Cities is the host of the event.

The par 71, 7,431 yard course is used for the $8.3M prize pool.

Lee Hodges won the event a season ago, 7 strokes ahead of second place.

The purse a season ago was $7.8M.

Hodges also broke the course record at -24.

Let’s take a look at the 2024 3M Open odds, top 3, and pick to win the event:

Writer’s Top 3 Picks for the Next 3M Open

Tony Finau +1100

Finau is currently 15th in FedEx Cup points, and ranked 19th in the world.

The 34 year old is coming off a missed cut at Royal Troon, due in large part to his disastrous day 2.

He shot an 81 and had no chance of moving on.

Before that, Finau finished in the Top 10 in three straight events, starting at the Memorial and moving through the US Open to the Travelers.

This guy has all the skills in place, and knows the course in Minneapolis.

Sam Burns +1800

Burns is 28 years old, and has been one of the consistent golfers on the tour.

He is coming off a Top 35 finish at the Open Championship, where he earned $90K.

Burns has been good with his clubs, but most notably out of the sand, where he is 18th, at 65%.

While he does not have a win, he has finished in the Top 10 six times, and the Top 25 eight times since the start of the season.

He is just behind Finau in terms of odds to win the 3M Open.

Akshay Bhatia +2200

Currently 14th in the FedEx Cup standings, and 28th in the world.

Bhatia is just 22 years old.

The world is about ready to hear more from this guy soon.

He missed the cut at the Open Championship, but before that finished 2nd at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit.

Bhatia is 10th in strokes gained total, and 21st tee to green.

It should be a fun ride for Bhatia as he continues to grow on the course.

Others in Consideration:

  • Sahith Theegala +2200
  • Luke Clanton +2500
  • Billy Horschel +2800
  • Keegan Bradley +3000
  • Tom Hoge +3300
  • Keith Mitchell +3500
  • Taylor Pendrith +3500

When we are going to make our betting picks for this event, the first bet we are going to make is on Tony Finau as the favorite.

Finau has been sharp at this course in the past, and we project he will find his groove early for this event.

Our second bet is on Keegan Bradley at +3000.

Sure, it’s a little outside of the box, but we have seen Bradley get hot and stay hot before.

You are going to need some low rounds to win this event.

That’s what Bradley does, as he takes down the 3M Open.

There you have it. Those are our 3M Open Betting Odds, Top 3 and picks to win the event.

We are excited for this event, and cannot wait to see how it plays out.

Good luck with all your golf betting!

PGA Tour 2023 3M Open Betting Odds, Favorites to Win, and Analysis

Previous Betting News

As the PGA Tour season winds down, there are just two events remaining on the schedule before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin. This week Tour pros take on TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, for the fifth edition of the 3M Open. The four-day individual stroke play event begins on Thursday, July 27th, and concludes on Sunday, July 30th.

Last year, Tony Finau picked up his first of two victories in back-to-back weeks with a four-day tally of 267 (17-under par). At the time, the win was Finau’s fourth of his career and first of three victories in 2022. Finau comfortably took home the victory, defeating Emiliano Grillo Sungjae Im by three shots.

There is a lot on the line this week for some players in the field, as this year marks the first season that the FedEx Cup Playoffs is reduced from 125 to 70 players. Those players teetering near that 70 mark need a good week to ease the stress of having to go into next week’s Wyndham Championship with their Tour status on the line.

Let’s take a look at the top players for the 2023 3M Open so you can wager against their PGA Tour lines to win this golf tournament.

TPC Twin Cities

TPC Twin Cities opened its doors in 2000 under the design of Arnold Palmer’s design team and player consultant Tom Lehman. A private club, the golf course is a member of the Tournament Players Club network operated by the PGA Tour.

TPC Twin Cities has been the site of a professional golf tournament since 2001, formerly hosting the 3M Championship on the PGA Tour Champions circuit before becoming a PGA Tour event in 2019.

The course stretches over 7,400 yards in length and will play as a par-71 for the pros. In 2018, TPC Twin Cities underwent extensive renovations that included the narrowing of fairways, adding bunkers, and adding/repositioning tee boxes throughout the course.

The 3M Open Field

Finau returns to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to defend his title after missing the cut at last week’s Open Championship. Joining Finau is a pair of past FedEx Cup champions, Justin Thomas and Billy Horschel, who currently are on the outside looking in of the playoffs. Thomas sits 75th in the standings, while Horschel finds himself at 119th.

Cameron Young played in the final group on Sunday at Royal Liverpool and made the long trek back, and is expected to tee it up. Last year’s runner-ups, Grillo and Im, are also back in the fold this week.

Sepp Straka, who won the John Deere Classic and posted a T2 at the Open, joins the field alongside rookie Ludvig Aberg and Special Temporary Member Ryan Gerard.

3M Open Betting Favorites

Young and Im headline the betting favorites this week over at MyBookie.ag. Both can be grabbed at +1450 pre-tournament. Finau and Hideki Matsuyama are right behind the two favorites at +1575. Matsuyama had a solid week at Royal Liverpool with a T13 finish.

Finishing off the top five is Straka (+2300), who comes into the week sitting 15th in the FedEx Cup standings, trying to lock up his spot in the TOUR Championship.
