Betting 2024 Black Desert Championship | Know the Basics

The PGA is making a return to Utah this weekend as it’s time for the Black Desert Championship.

This is a strange time in the golf world as most of the top players are still taking some time off while they prepare for another run next year.

The Black Desert Championship is going to give some of the younger players a chance to come away with a win, but there will still be veterans in the field as well.

Since there aren’t going to be any of the biggest names, the betting odds to win this event are wide open.

Here is a look at the top three contenders to win the Black Desert Championship, and a betting pick on which player will win it.

Writer’s Picks for the Next Black Desert Championship

Keith Mitchell (+1600)

Keith Mitchell is not a player that you would expect to see favored to win a PGA Tour event, but that is the case this weekend.

Mitchell comes into the weekend with odds sitting at +1600, and that’s something that is very unfamiliar to him.

He is a player that has shown that he can hang with the best players in the world, but doing it on a consistent basis continues to be a challenge.

His odds will have a target on his back this weekend, and that will be something to monitor.

Seamus Power (+2000)

Seamus Power is an interesting name on the PGA Tour, as he is someone that always seems to be lurking behind the leaders.

These next few months are going to give Power an opportunity to make a run, but he will need to step up and prove that he can get that done.

The odds suggest that Power should be right behind Mitchell this weekend, and that will be something to keep your eye on.

Power is certainly capable of winning this event, but it’s not going to be easy at all.

Erik Van Rooyen (+3000)

Erik Van Rooyen is another top contender to watch this weekend, even though there are other golfers with better odds.

Van Rooyen burst onto the PGA Tour scene with some impressive performances, but he hasn’t exactly been gobbling up titles.

He is a player that is capable of going on a big run in some events, and this course does shape up well for him.

Getting off the tee is going to be his number one goal, and that will likely determine if he can compete or not.

Betting Black Desert Championship: Go With Power

There is going to be a ton of betting value available for this event, and you really can’t go wrong with whoever you pick.

Mitchell is the betting favorite for a reason, but he just hasn’t been consistent enough throughout his career.

Seamus Power is a player that could easily become a consistent threat on the PGA Tour, and this is an event in which he needs to take control.

Bet on Power at +2000 to come away with a huge win as he will win the Black Desert Championship.

PGA Pick: Seamus Power

2017 Dell Match Play Odds

Previous Betting News

The second WGC Match Play Tournament of the 2017 season is now underway and you can still cash in big on the exciting event. In this fun-filled event, the PGA now has a bracket format after switching to a round robin format in 2015 for the opening group stage. Before you make your betting selections, you should know that this event has been dominated by the top players in the world.

While defending champion Jason Day had to pull out after just six holes because of personal family matters, 2015 winner Rory McIlroy is back as is Matt Kuchar the winner in 2013. Okay, let’s get started with a look at some of the top golf betting odds favorites.

Analyzing The 2017 WGC Dell Match Play Odds

Group 1: Dustin Johnson, Jimmy Walker, Martin Kaymer, Webb Simpson

Dustin Johnson is the favorite in this group but he’s not a lock even though he’s recorded two wins in his last two starts.

Group 2: Rory McIlroy, Emiliano Grillo, Gary Woodland, Soren Kjeldsen

62nd-ranked Soren Kjeldsen beat McIlroy 2-1 prior to the time of this writing.

Group 3: Jason Day, Marc Leishman, Lee Westwood, Pat Perez

With day out, Leishman is the pick here.

Group 4: Hideki Matsuyama, Louis Oosthuizen, Ross Fisher, Jim Furyk

Hideki Matsuyama, who tied for 45th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week is my pick to win this group.

Group 5: Jordan Spieth, Ryan Moore, Yuta Ikeda, Hideto Tanihara

World No. 5 Jordan Spieth was beaten by Japan’s Hideto Tanihara 4 and 2 and conceded after 16 holes. Check out all of the remaining group odds in the sportsbook. Now, here are the odds for every golfer with less than 100/1 odds.

Dell Technologies Championship, Odds, Picks & Prediction

Previous Betting News

Golf tournaments tend to follow a rather similar pattern. We usually get a huge field that is cut in half after two days of play, with the final two days devoted to the players that made the cut trying to put together the lowest score possible. Things are a little different at the Dell Technologies Championship, which will take place at the Austin County Club starting this Wednesday, as we will be looking at a match play format for this one.

It’s a smaller group of players on tap, with 64 players being divided into groups of 4 and playing a round robin style on Wednesday through Friday. We will end up with a Sweet 16 group that will go into a knockout tournament over the weekend. There are lots of betting opportunities available for this event which makes it more fun for golf bettors than traditional tournaments. With 45 of the top 50 players in the world taking part this one should be great. Let’s take a look at some of the golf betting favorites.

In Depth Analysis On The Dell Technologies Championship, Odds, Picks & Prediction

Jason Day

It has not been the best start to the season for Jason Day, but this might just be the tournament to bring him back to life before the majors get underway. Day is the defending champion of this event, and he has won it twice in the last 3 years. This seems to be an event and style of play that he enjoys, so well worth a look once again.

Dustin Johnson

The world #1 will be coming into this one totally refreshed after taking a couple of weeks off. He has been in spectacular form to start the season and already has a couple of wins under his belt. It can be argued that, given his current form and ranking, he will be the man to beat over the next few days.

Rory McIlroy

The Irishman has struggled to stay 100% fit for a while now, but it has not affected his game that much. He has landed in the top 10 in each of the last 4 tournaments that he has taken part in, so definitely in good form. He also came very close to winning this event last year, losing a squeaker to Jason Day in the final. Rory McIlroy is my pick to win it all this time around.

Jordan Spieth

This is a young man who is in absolutely fantastic form as he is coming into this tournament riding a streak of 11 consecutive top 25 finishes. He has been in the top 10 4 times already this season, and always seems to be hovering near the top of the leaderboard heading into the final day. This is a different kind of tournament, but given how Spieth has been playing, he has to be considered one of the favorites.

Those are just 4 of the many great golfers that will be hitting the course starting on Wednesday, but it could quite literally be anyone from the great group of 64 that could win it. Even if you are not a huge golf fan we guarantee you will get a kick out of this event, so why not have a little wager, too.

Expert Picks For PGA Deutsche Bank Championship

Previous Betting News

We are coming down to the wire in the PGA season, as this weekend (Sept 1-4) sees the second round of the FedEx Cup take place at the TPC Boston course. The field for this event was meant to be 100 players, but Danny Willett has chosen to sit this one out, taking it down to 99. We actually saw a change at the top of the FedEx Cup standings after Patrick Reed won the Barclays last weekend, and he is sure to be among the betting odds favorites for this tournament, although it has to be said that he is in very good company. This is a course that is very forgiving, but which will also reward the players who have a solid approach play performance. I have my selection to win already made, but let’s take a look at some of the top picks for the PGA Deutsche Bank Championship before I reveal who I think will win.

Expert Picks For PGA Deutsche Bank Championship

Patrick Reed (+2000)

Reed is the new FedEx Cup points leader after a win at The Barclays last weekend, and he has to be considered one of the favorites given that he finished in 4th place at this event last year. He doesn’t necessarily have to win to stay atop the standings, but he will likely need to place ahead of Jason Day in order to maintain that top spot as the playoffs move on. I like him to be among the leaders, but not to win.

Jason Day (+600)

Day has not picked up a win on the PGA tour since back in May, but he continues to tack up FedEx points due to the fact that he always seems to land in the top 10 in every tournament he plays. Last week at The Barclays he finished tied for 4th, so he certainly can never be counted out of any tournament that he enters. He will be near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, but I think he will come up a little short once again.

Henrik Stenson (+1400)

This may seem like a little bit of a dodgy pick given that the Swede has to call it a day after the opening round at The Barclays, as knee issues once again forced him out. The interesting thing here is that he was also forced to retire at the US Open because of the knee issue, but came back the following weekend to win the BMW International Open.

Adam Scott (+2000)

This is a course that the Aussie seems to love, having won this tournament in the past, and always seeming to show up whenever he plays at the TPC Boston. Scott had an impressive showing at The Barclays last weekend, tying for 4th alongside Jason Day, and he seems to be finding the form that had him winning tournaments on a regular basis earlier in the season. I love the betting odds that he has for this tournament, and he is my pick to walk away with the top prize.

PGA Deutsche Bank Championship Winning Predictions

Previous Betting News

The FedEx Cup playoffs are heading into their second week this coming weekend after the first round of players were taken out of the equation at The Barclays last week. The field for the Deutsche Bank Championship, which will be held at the TPC Boston course, is set for 100 players, but there may be a couple of exceptions. Danny Willett has chosen to sit this one out, and there are also doubts about Henrik Stenson who had to retire during the first round last weekend because of issues with his knee. That little detail may actually mean something for Stenson if he does decide to play, but we will get to that a little later in this piece. Find the latest betting odds here.

PGA Deutsche Bank Championship Winning Predictions

Course Information

The TPC Boston course is 7,297 yards long, and is listed as a Par 71. This will be a much easier challenge than what the players faced at Bethpage Black last weekend, and there will be an opportunity for some low scores to be posted here. In recent years, the average winning score in this tournament, which is always played at the same course, has been between -15 and -22, so look for the eventual winner to be somewhere in there. This is a course that favors players with a strong approach play game, which will help narrow down your betting options here.

Your Betting Options for The PGA Deutsche Bank Championship

There are three different ways that you can wager on the PGA event this weekend, and it all begins with trying to figure out who will be at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon. It’s no real surprise that Jason Day is in as the favorite, as he seems to be the top dog in every tournament that he plays in nowadays. While most of you might be avoiding Henrik Stenson and his dodgy knee, it is worth noting that he withdrew from the US Open in the early rounds for the same reason, only to come back and win the following weekend. Will history repeat itself in Boston? We will take a closer look at the potential favorites in a separate article, so be sure to look out for that.

If trying to pick a single winner from a field of 100 seems like a little too difficult, why not just opt for wagering on who the first round leader will be? There are players on the tour who have made a habit of getting off to a fast start, which again helps narrow down your betting options. Wait around and see what the weather conditions are going to be like, and then start looking at which players do better on how the course is playing.

Finally, you can skip all of that if you want, and instead wager on individual match-ups. This is an opportunity to have several different bets going on the opening round, and it also makes the tournament a lot more fun, as you will not just be focusing on a single player. Get your wagers in today, and best of luck this weekend.
