Alex Noren +1200

Noren, now 41 years old, has been playing professional golf for nearly 20 years now. He did not play at the Masters last week, but was recently at the Valero Texas Open. He fared well there with a 14th place finish. He wrapped up his weekend at -5. He was in contention after a 66 on Saturday, but his Sunday did not go as planned. The 41 year old is the favorite to win this event, as oddsmakers have him listed at 12/1/

Nicolai Hojgaard +1400

Currently 34th in the world this 23 year old from Denmark is coming. Hojgaard was pretty solid at the Masters earning $310K with his 16th place finish. His 67 on Thursday put him near the top of the leaderboard. He finished with 73, 74 and 76, but a good outing to find himself in the Top 20. Hojgaard missed the cut at the Players Championship in March, and finished 25th at the Texas Open. He is listed at +1400.

Billy Horschel +1800

A veteran on the tour, the 37 year old from Jacksonville Beach Florida took last week off. He needed it, after a big time struggle in San Antonio the previous week. But, it has not been that long since he saw some success. He saw his name in the Top 10 at the Children’s Houston Open, and Top 12 at the Valspar. This guy can still play, and has been one of the best putters around. If he can fix up his medium game, he will be a big time threat. Horschel is listed at +1800.

Aaron Rai +2200

The 29 year old from the United Kingdom comes into this event 77th in the world rankings. Rai did not play at the Masters, but has made the cut in his last two outings. At the end of March, he was Top 7 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. His opening day 66 was what helped the most, but back to back 67’s on the final two days kept him in the Top 20. Rai is listed at 22/1 to win the event.

Nate Lashley +2500

At 25/1 the 41 year old from Nebraska is coming off a 39th place finish at the Valero Texas Open. Before that, in Houston, he was Top 25 as well. On the season. Lashley has a 70.775 scoring average, which is in the Top 35 on the Tour. Lashley is not a well known name on the tour, but is a guy that can go low and contend. He is listed at 25/1 to win this event.

Corales Puntacana Championship Odds, Picks, and PGA Betting Analysis

Previous Betting News

The PGA Tour heads to the Dominican Republic this weekend for the Corales Puntacana Championship. First played in 2016, the tournament takes place on the east coast of the island country at the Puntacana Resort and Club. As a PGA Tour alternate event, it has a purse of just $3.8 million and, as a result, doesn’t necessarily have the same depth of field as recent events or the WGC-Dell Match Play, which is also taking place this week at the Austin Country Club.

Dominic Bozzelli won the inaugural Corales Puntacana Championship in 2016 when it was part of the Web.com Tour. Chad Ramey is the defending champion, while other winners include Joel Dahmen (2021) and Hudson Swafford (2020).

The Favorite – Wyndham Clark +920

Scott Piercy
Current tour: PGA Tour
Highest ranking: 90 | March 19, 2023

Wyndham Clark is the overwhelming favorite to win the Corales Puntacana Championship with +920 betting odds. The 29-year-old Denver, Colorado native has the shortest odds by far heading into this weekend, with Thomas Detry (+1800) and Taylor Pendrith (+2100) next in line.

Those odds are warranted, considering Clark is coming off of a fifth-place finish at the Valspar Championship with a four-round score of six-under par. He moved up to a career-best world No. 90 with his performance at the Copperhead Course. Clark previously finished T27 at the PLAYERS and T34 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Clark hasn’t finished outside of the top 40 in his last five starts and hasn’t missed a cut since the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October. He’s certainly a decent bet for this weekend.

The Smart Pick – Taylor Pendrith +2100

Taylor Pendrith
Current tour: PGA Tour
Professional wins: 2
Highest ranking: 99 | October 2, 2022

With the world’s top golfers absent from the event, it’s tough to predict who will rise to the occasion and perhaps win their first PGA Tour event. Pendrith, at +2100, is as good of a bet as anyone else. The 31-year-old Canadian is 118th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has shown the ability to contend against top-ranked players this season but hasn’t been able to put it all together through four rounds.

Pendrith was in contention early at the PLAYERS before settling for a T69 result. He finished T7 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this season. Pendrith finished T34 at Puntacana in 2021.

Longshot Pick – Scott Piercy +5800

Scott Piercy
Current tour: PGA Tour
Professional wins: 6
Highest ranking: 25 | July 3, 2016

Scott Piercy hasn’t played at Puntacana since 2018, when he finished T60, but he’s certainly a worthy consideration at +5800 for this weekend. Piercy has been off for a couple weeks and should be ready to contend in a tournament with a relatively weak field.

Although he narrowly missed the cut at the PLAYERS, Piercy was in contention early at the Puerto Rico Open in early March before finishing T21.

The 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship is the next destination for golfers on the Korn Ferry Tour. For these professional golfers working on their game to take to the next level, the competition is fierce.

Many golfers in the field have either done well at this event, have a hot hand riding into it, or looking to gain momentum for the next one. Below you can see which betting option could be the best so you can place your bets against the PGA Tour Odds

Corales Puntacana Championship Betting Preview

Adam Svensson is an interesting pick for this event. He has two top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour this year. With his T7 finish at the Sony Open at the beginning of the year, he makes a compelling pick to play in similar conditions here.

Kramer Hickok has some potential to get in the mix for the victory. He has a top 20 and top 30 finish playing on the PGA Tour this season. Previous events on the Korn Ferry Tour have been suited better to his game, so hopefully, he can show everyone just that.

Mark Hubbard is a mixed bag of results this season. He has plenty of missed cuts and two top 30 finishes. However, his 15th finish at the Honda Classic sheds some light on his iron play and ability to make putts.

Nate Lashley has been solid for this season of golf and is looking to improve on his T28 finish here last season. He has some positives to look to on the PGA Tour against better competition. His T7 finish recently on the Korn Ferry Tour at the Puerto Rico Open shows that he is ready to steal a victory.

Jhonattan Vegas might be the most dangerous player in this event to win outright. He is currently ranked as the 95th best golfer in the world and has thrived in events that have somewhat of a weaker field. He played solidly recently at the Valspar Championship, coming in at T27 and T18 here last year.

Sahith Theegala is coming off of a T7 finish at the Valspar Championship against the best players in the world. You would not have guessed with two consecutive missed cuts heading into that event, but he is the real deal when his game is on. This might be the momentum he needs to get the job done.

Potential Winning Pick

Joel Dahmen is the defending champion of this event and has cracked the top 100 best golfers in the world rankings. He has some top 30 finishes on the PGA Tour this season and has a T6 finish at Pebble Beach. For a player to potentially win an event he has been successful at previously, and with a slight discount in odds, this is a solid choice.

Previous Betting News

While the world’s very best golfers will be in Austin, Texas for this week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship, you’re going to have a great chance to cash in with a potentially winning wager when the 2021 Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship gets underway on Thursday, March 25, live from the Dominican Republic.

The field at this annual event features the players that didn’t qualify for the aforementioned WGC-Dell Technologies event. This will be the fourth year on the PGA Tour for this event with the two previous years being held on the Korn Ferry Tour. A year ago, Hudson Swafford won it all. This spring event was held in September as the global COVID-19 pandemic pushed back its normal start date. With that being said, let’s take a closer look at the top 3 favorites to win the Puntacana Championship so you can bet against their Golf odds.

PGA Tour Betting Predictions – The Top Three Picks To Win The 2021 Puntacana Championship

Okay, let’s look back at the past winners before getting to my top three picks to win and cash in.

Corales Puntacana Championship Last Five Winners

Odds To Win 2021 Puntacana Championship

Top 3 Favorites

3. Emiliano Grillo

Grillo is 151st in the official golf world rankings, but gets my vote as the No. 3 pick to win this event. In 16 events this season, the 28-year-old Argentinian has recorded six Top-25 finishes and one Top-10 finish. While Grillo missed the cut in his last event at The Player’s Championship, he did finish T21 in the Arnold Palmer Invitational just prior to that and T11 in the Puerto Rico Open just before that. Grillio ranks a phenomenal third in greens-in-regulation (73.21%), 46th in birdie average (4.14) and 31st in scoring average (70.3).

2. Nate Lashley

75th in the FedEx standings, 38-year-old Nick Lashley has recorded a pair of Top-10 finishes in 15 events this season. While that figure isn’t very encouraging, Lashley did manage to win this event in 2017 when it was still on the Korn Ferry Tour. Lashley finished an encouraging fifth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in mid-February while finishing 36th in last week’s Honda Classic. I’m going to put Lashley in the mix simply because he’s had some past success in this tournament and should be quite motivated to record his third Top-20 finish in his last six events.

1. Charley Hoffman

The 44-year-old Californian is an uninspiring 111th in the official golf world rankings, but I like his chances to win this event. In 16 events this season, Hoffman has recorded seven Top-25 finishes and three Top-10 finishes. After a seriously slow start, the veteran has heated up nicely by recording three Top-20 finishes over his last four tournaments, including an encouraging T10 finish in the Arnold Palmer Invitational three weeks ago and a T17 finish at The Player’s Championship two weeks ago. Hoffman is 30th in greens-in-regulation, 38th in birdie average (4.19) and 41st in scoring average (70.5). Hoffman is trending in the right direction and he’s my top pick to get the win!

2020 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Expert Analysis – PGA Tour Betting

Previous Betting News

With the 2020-21 PGA Tour season heading into its third event of the season, it’s time to find out which golfers are looking like they could cash in against their value-packed PGA Tour odds in the MYBookie golf betting sportsbook.

2020 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Betting Analysis

Odds to Win 2020 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship

The Top 5 Picks

 No. 5 Henrik Stenson

The 44-year-old Swede missed the cut at last week’s U.S. Open, but won the Hero World Challenge in December of 2019 while finishing T20 at the WGC-HSBC Champions event just prior to that while finishing T35 at the WGC-FedEx St, Jude Invitational in August. The former World No. 2 is so gifted that he won the 2016 British Open, while finishing T5 at the 2018 Masters, 3rd and T3 at the 2013 and 2014 PGA Championship respectively and T4 in the 2014 U.S. Open. Sure, his best days are behind him, but Stensn should definitely be among the top challengers in a field that isn’t overly loaded with elite stars by any stretch of the imagination.

No. 4 Graeme McDowell

The 41-year-old Irishman recorded just one Top-10 finish last season, but also racked up four Top-25 finishes. More importantly, McDowell won this event a year ago by one stroke over MacKenzie Hughes and Chris Stroud. MDowell is desperate after closing out the 2019-20 campaign with three straight missed cuts – and now, looks like a perfect time for the 2010 U.S. Open winner to bounce back.

No. 3 Denny McCarthy

The 27-year-old Maryland native recorded seven Top-10 finishes last season, including a T8 at the RSM CLassic and a T9 at both the Wyndham Championship and Houston Open. While McCarthy missed the cut at the Safeway Open in his last event earlier this month, he also recorded more Top-10 finishes last season than in the two previous seasons combined.

No. 2 Charles Howell III

The 41-year-old ‘Chucky Three Sticks’ finished a solid 30th at last week’s U.S. Open while finishing T4 at the Safeway Open just prior to that. Howell III recorded a trio of Top-10 finishes last season and six Top-25 finishes, leading me to believe the 2001 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is going to challenge for the outright win!

No. 1 Will Zalatoris

The 24-year-old Californian is the only top-10 player from the 2020 U.S. Open in the field at Corales after finishing a stellar T6 alongside world No. 1 Dustin Johnson last week.  Last season, he recorded an impressive 10, Top-10 finishes while winning the TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes in July and finishing T2 in the Evans Scholars Invitational on the Korn Ferry Tour on Sept. 13. Zalatoris has a 12-event streak, including last week at Winged Foot, in which he has not finished outside of the top 20.

Previous Betting News

Okay golf betting faithful, while all eyes will be on this week’s 2019 WGC-Dell Match Play Championships in Austin, Texas, there’s more golf action going down for both, the PGA Tour’s up-and-coming stars and fading veterans thanks to this week’s 2019  Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.

A bunch of talented golfers will be going all-out in the hopes of getting a two year PGA Tour exemption, 300 FedEx Cup points and a major portion of the $3 million purse that is up for grabs in the Dominican Republic as the fourth edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship takes place.

Now, let’s take a look at the pertinent info and golf betting odds surrounding this event before I offer up my top five picks to bring home the bacon.

2019 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Odds & Preview

Where: Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, Corales Golf Club, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
When: Thursday, March 28, 2019
TV: Golf Channel

The Course

Par 72, 7,670 yards

Past Winners

2016 – Dominic Bozzelli -24
2017 – Nate Lashley -20
2018 – Brice Garnett -18

Odds to Win 2019 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship

Sungjae Im

The 20-year-old South Korean rookie ranks 49th in G.I.R., 42nd in birdie average and a stellar 26th in scoring average. In 16 events this season, Im has recorded seven Top 25 finishes and an impressive quartet of Top 10 finishes that includes a T3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in early March and a T4 at last weekend’s Valspar Championship. Those pair of Top 5 finishes in his last three events makes Im my top pick to win the 2019 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.

Jhonattan Vegas

There’s a reason why Vegas is the Vegas favorite, pardon the pun. The 34-year-old Venezuelan has a pair of Top 10 finishes in 11 events this season and a trio of Top 25 finishes in his last three events, including a stupendous third place finish at The PLAYERS Championship almost two weeks ago. Vegas ranks inside the top 50 in driving distance, greens in regulation and scoring average, making him my No. 2 pick to win this year’s event.

Brian Stuard

In the eight tournaments he’s played this calendar year, 36-year-old Michigan native Brian Stuard has finished in the Top 60 seven times while also recording a trio of Top 20 finishes and one Top 10 finish. In his last three tournaments, Stuard has sandwiched a T20 and T18 at least week’s Valspar Championship around a missed cut at the PLAYERS Championship. Those two Top 20 finishes this month, combined with the fact that he ranks an impressive 18th in driving accuracy, means Stuard is going to have a legitimate chance to win this event.

Trey Mullinax

I have no idea why baby-faced 26-year-old Alabama native Trey Mullinax isn’t being mentioned as a top contender here, but I think he will challenge to win it all. Sure, he’s got just three Top 25 finishes in 12 tournaments played this season, but Mullinax has recorded all three in his last five events while finishing 54t or better in four events with just a missed cut at the PLAYERS Championship. Mullinax also finished 11th in this event in 2016 and 22nd finish in 2018.

Matt Jones

At 38-years-old, Aussie native Matt Jones is certainly no spring chicken. Still though, he’s playing some fantastic golf that I believe could land him in the winner’s circle this coming weekend. In 12 events this season, Jones has recorded a modest, two, Top 25 finishes. However, he’s also finished T55 or better in each of his last five tournaments and comes into this event off a T36 at the Honda Classic and very impressive T13 at the Valspar Championship last weekend.
