Betting 2024 Genesis Scottish Open PGA Odds

The Genesis Scottish Open is set to take place this weekend.

This is one of the five tournaments that is part of the Rolex Series, which is part of the European Tour.

This is the final chance for many to qualify for The Open, which is next week.

This tournament will take place at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.

The par is 70, and the course is just over 7,200 yards.

A $9M prize pool is on the line here.

Rory Mcllroy was the champion a season ago over Robert MacIntyre.

The previous season was Xander Schauffele.

This is the 42nd year of the event.

Let’s take a look at the Genesis Scottish Open: PGA Odds, Top 3, and pick to win.

2024 Genesis Scottish Open Odds for the Top PGA Golfers

Rory Mcllroy +800

Rory has not played a competitive round since finishing second at Pinehurst.

The US Open was a great event for him, earning him over $2M, but one he would like to have back.

Rory was right there with a chance to win, and even scored a 69 on the final day.

He will look to grab the final major here, but it would be his third win of the season.

Rory has been great driving the ball, at nearly 319 yards per attempt.

Rory will look to go back to back at this event, in an effort to get ready for the Open.

Xander Schauffele +900

The 30 year old has had a great season, despite just the one win.

It was a major win, as he took the title in Louisville at the PGA Championship.

Xander has been a great scrambler, with the 4th best statistics on the tour.

He also is second among golfers in strokes gained tee to green.

Schauffele is coming off a 13th place finish at the Travelers in Connecticut.

He shot -16 in this, but was marred by his final day 70.

He will look to repeat his magic of 2022 when this event gets started.

Collin Morikawa +1600

Morikawa has been fairly quiet this season.

He is coming off a 13th place finish at the Travelers, while he went tied for 14th at the US Open.

His other majors this season were fourth at the PGA Championship, and third at the Masters.

While we say quiet, he has been good, just not a ton of chatter when it comes to the 27 year old.

Morikawa hopes to break out in a big way.

He has great driving accuracy, as he ranks fourth among all players at 78.3.

Morikawa has six Top 10 finishes and 12 in the Top 25 this season.

2024 Genesis Scottish Open Picks to Win

Genesis Scottish Open First Pick
When push comes to shove, all of the three betting favorites are good when it comes to betting.

We are going to go with Tommy Fleetwood at +2000.

Fleetwood is always a guy around the leaderboard, and we feel this is his time to grab a big event like the Scottish Open and win it.

That is our first bet.

2024 Genesis Scottish Open Second Pick
Our second bet to win this event is a little further down the odds.

We are going to go with Matt Fitzpatrick.

He is listed at +3500, and we expect him to bring a solid game to the course this weekend.

Fitzpatrick is familiar with the course, and his style of play is advantageous to win this one.

We are going to take him at 35/1 odds!

PGA Tour 2023 Genesis Scottish Open Betting Odds, Favorites to Win, and Analysis

Previous Betting News

The 2023 Genesis Scottish Open returns to The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, for the fifth consecutive year. The tournament is a co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, as well as one of the DP World Tour’s five Rolex Series events. Also, golf fans get a pair of PGA Tour events this week with the Barbasol Championship and the Genesis Scottish Open.

Since moving to a links-style golf course, the event has been an appealing tournament to players looking for a tune-up prior to The Open Championship the following week. The four-day individual stroke play event begins on Thursday, July 13th, and concludes on Sunday, July 16th.

Xander Schauffele is the defending champion and returns this year to defend his title. The win was the second of 2022 and the second international PGA Tour win of his career (2018 WGC-HSBC Champions in China). Schauffele tallied a four-day score of 273 (seven-under) to defeat Kurt Kitayama by one stroke.

Let’s take a look at the top players for the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open so you can wager against their PGA Tour lines.

PGA Tour Genesis Scottish Open | One of five tournaments of the Rolex Series
Renaissance Club | North Berwick, Scotland
July 13–16, 2023

The Renaissance Club

The Renaissance Club opened its doors in 2008 and was designed by American golf course architect Tom Doak. The layout was carved out of 300 acres of pine trees and sits right next door to Muirfield. Some of those trees remain on the property in strategic locations, giving the Renaissance Club a unique look compared to the tree-less layouts around the area.

On the scorecard, the course can stretch to over 7,300 in length and plays as a par-71. Like many of the courses along the coast of the United Kingdom, weather can play a major role in the scores for the week. Bernard Wiesberger won this event, firing a 22-under par in 2019, while Schauffele carded a seven-under for the win last year.

Genesis Scottish Open Field

Many of the world’s best golfers will play this week to get acclimated to the links style of golf as well as the weather. Only Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith are players ranked inside the top 10 in the world, not in action this week.

Nine of the top 10 ranked players in the Race to Dubai Rankings on the DP World Tour are teeing it up, including the likes of Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, and Min Woo Lee.

Other notables in the field include rookie Ludvig Aberg, who’s made the cut in all four PGA Tour events since turning pro. Rickie Fowler is back in action for the first time since winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Fowler won the Scottish Open in 2015 at Gullane Golf Club.

Scottish Open Tee Times

Thursday July 13:
First round: morning group tee off at 2:15 a.m./ afternoon group tee off at 7:15 p.m.
Friday July 14:
Second round: morning group tee off at 2:15 a.m./ afternoon group tee off at 7:15 p.m.

Genesis Scottish Open Betting Favorites

Scheffler (+660) headlines the betting favorites heading into the tournament. The two-time winner this season is looking to shake off a missed cut in this event last season. McIlroy, the early favorite for the Open Championship next week, is behind Scheffler at +920.

Patrick Cantlay (+1375) comes in at third, looking for his first victory of the season. Schauffele (+1475) looks to defend his win but drew a tough tee time with an afternoon round Friday when the winds are expected to be at their worst.

The top five concludes with Tyrrell Hatton (+1675), who has been playing excellent golf on the PGA Tour and is knocking on the door of a victory.

PGA Tour 2022 Genesis Scottish Open & Barbarsol Championship Betting Odds, Favorites to Win, and Analysis

Previous Betting News

This week on the professional golf circuit we have a pair of co-sanction tournaments between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. The Genesis Scottish Open will be where a majority of the big names will be, with three spots in the Open Championship on the line for the highest finishers not already exempt into St. Andrews. State-side, the Barbarsol Championship, which historically has been played as an alternate event during the Open Championship, will give both PGA Tour and DP World Tour players a final shot at earning a spot at next week’s major. It’s time to take a closer look at the upcoming events so you can get all set to make your bets against the PGA Tour Odds.

Golf Betting Preview for the 2022 PGA Tour Genesis Scottish Open & Barbarsol Championship Tournaments

Genesis Scottish Open

Many of the top players in the world will get accustomed to the game across the pond on a links-style track that’ll be similar to the layout at St. Andrews. The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland is the host of the tournament for the fourth year in a row. The Scottish Open is one of five events on the DP World Tour schedule that is a part of the Rolex Series.

Min Woo Lee captured his first European title last year after sinking a birdie putt on the first playoff hole to defeat Thomas Detry and Matthew Fitzpatrick. The winner of the Scottish Open has been decided by a playoff for the last three years.

The par-71 course stretched along the North Sea and like many Scottish courses can play completely different depending on the weather. A modern links course, the track stretched just over 7,300 hards and features four par 5s, nine par 4s, and five par 3s. Winning scores at The Renaissance Club have ranged from 11-under to 22-under.

Jon Rahm (+1150) is the pre-tournament favorite heading into Thursday’s first round. Right behind Rahm is world no. 1 Scottie Scheffler (+1175). Justin Thomas (+1300), Matthew Fitzpatrick (+1775), and Xander Schauffele (+1800) round out the top five favorites.

Barbasol Championship

While the big names will be across the pond, the Barbasol Championship brings its own excitement even with a weaker field as players try to win a PGA Tour event and lock up the final spot in the 150th Open. Keene Trace Golf Club, one of the best courses in Kentucky, has hosted the tournament since 2018. Located in Nicholasville, Kentucky, the property sits just outside of Lexington.

Seamus Power knocked off J.T. Poston in a six-hole playoff to secure his first PGA Tour victory in 2021. Both of those players will be in the field next week at St. Andrews. The average winning score at Keene Trace has been just over 23-under par.

The course is a traditional par-72 layout that plays approximately 7,300 yards from the back tees. Historically a low-scoring event, players will need to take advantage of the large greens and wide fairways to give themselves ample birdie opportunities. Avoiding the 60+ bunkers and water hazard on the final holes is a must.

Mark Hubbard (+1600) comes to Kentucky as the betting favorite to win his first PGA Tour title. PGA Tour rookie Chris Gotterup, who was playing in the NCAA Tournament just last month, is right behind Hubbard at +1800. Kevin Streelman (+2200), Adam Svensson (+2500), John Huh (+2800), and Taylor Pendrith (+2800) round out the favorites looking for to punch their ticket to St. Andrews.

Previous Betting News

The PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia was canceled for this week because heavy flooding badly damaged areas of that part of the country and left half the course in White Sulphur Springs underwater. Thus all those PGA Tour players who were using that event as a warm-up for next week’s British Open are out of luck. But there are a handful of top American players competing this week in the European Tour’s Scottish Open in preparations for the British Open in that country. Your favorite on betting odds is Sweden’s Henrik Stenson at +700.

Taking a Closer Look at the European Tour Scottish Open 2016 Golf Betting Odds

The Scottish Open is one of the richer golf tournaments on the European Tour. The tournament, a last chance for European Tour players to earn a spot in The Open Championship, traditionally takes place the week before The Open Championship. Since 1986, the tournament has been one of the biggest events on the European Tour and has been played over some of Scotland’s finest links and parkland courses. This year’s tournament is at Castle Stuart Golf Links. The Scottish Open has produced 30 different winners from 14 different countries. Of those 30, eight have been major champions.

Last year the tournament was held at Gullane Golf Club and won by American Rickie Fowler, but he’s not playing this year; neither are big names such as Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth or Rory McIlroy. Fowler shot a final-round 68 last year, with birdies on three of his final four holes, to pass Matt Kuchar and win by one shot. It was Fowler’s first victory on European soil. He took the outright lead for the first time with his final shot of the tournament, a tap-in putt from inside two feet.

Kuchar was on the practice range, preparing for a playoff after shooting a 68. France’s Raphael Jacquelin was the only one who could force a playoff, but he needed an eagle 2. That almost happened, with his approach from 120 yards spinning back to a foot from the cup. Jacquelin shot 70 to tie for second place with Kuchar. Jacquelin earned a British Open spot as did overnight leader Daniel Brooks and Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg.

Stenson has struggled of late on the PGA Tour in missing a few cuts and withdrawing from the U.S. Open. But he just won on the European Tour, taking the BMW International Open two weeks ago. It was Stenson’s first European Tour victory since the 2014 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. He now has won a European Tour event in four of the last five European Tour seasons, dating back to the 2012 season. (Did not win in the 2015 season). It was first Swedish victory of the 2016 European Tour season.

The last time Castle Stuart hosted this event, American Phil Mickelson won at 17 under, beating South African Branden Grace in a playoff. Grace is +1000 this week and Lefty is +1400. Seven days after that 2013 win, Mickelson became the first player to win the Scottish Open and then go onto win The Open Championship. Grace, having won on links before, at the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, will be hoping to tie his good friend and countryman Louis Oosthuizen with an eighth career win on the European Tour. Grace is now in the Top 10 of the world rankings for the first time in his career.

Expert Betting Prediction

I do believe Grace is the best choice on betting lines. Throw some long-shot money on hometown boy Russell Knox at +600 for a Top 5.
