Betting 2024 Procore Championship | Know the Basics

The next season on the PGA Tour is here, and there will be some great action at the Procore Championship this weekend.

This will be the first official event of the FedEx Fall Series, and it’s an opportunity for other players to step up.

Most of the biggest names in the sport of golf are going to be sitting out and getting ready for the President’s Cup, but there will still be great action at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California.

Here is a look at the upcoming PGA season, and some of the top bets to make for the action this weekend.

Writer’s Picks for the Next Procore Championship

Next Season is Here

Scottie Scheffler just capped off a tremendous season with a victory at the FedEx Cup Championship, and he was the most dominant player on tour.

Xander Schauffele wasn’t far behind when looking at the overall standings, but no one was catching the best player in the sport.

Now it’s time to start looking ahead to what’s coming in 2025, and it’s the same two players that are expected to go on a big run.

Scheffler is favored to win the FedEx Cup Championship again, and Schauffele is seen as the biggest adversary.

There is plenty of golf to be played between now and then, but it’s hard to imagine that those players are going to drop off at all.

Top Three at Procore

There are normally going to be some great betting opportunities for every single PGA Tour event, and you typically want to explore all options.

That’s not necessarily the case this weekend as there are some big players that aren’t teeing it up.

When looking at the betting odds to win the event this weekend, Sahith Theegala is the clear betting favorite at +1100 to come away with a win.

Theegala consistently finishes near the top in events, but he just hasn’t been able to win a ton.

Wyndham Clark represented Team USA at the Olympics in 2024, and he is going to be playing in this event as well.

His odds are set at +1150, making him the top competitor to Theegala, at least in terms of the odds.

Corey Conners is another big name that will be playing this weekend, and he has betting odds set at +1400 to win the Procore Championship.

He will be looking to make a big run this weekend to get himself off to a great start.

Betting on a Winner

While all three of the top betting favorites are going to be players to watch this weekend, you are actually going to want to go a different route.

There are still some other great players in the mix, and you can find more value if you dig a little deeper.

Max Homa is a player that never seems to really live up to his potential, but this could be his year to turn things around.

The odds for Homa to win the event is set at +2300 and now is the perfect time to cash in.

How to Bet on the PGA Tour Championship? Let’s Find Out

Betting on the PGA Tour Championship involves a few key steps to maximize your chances of making successful wagers.
Here’s a guide to help you get started:

  • Understand the Tournament Format:
The PGA Tour Championship is the final event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and features the top 30 players in the standings.
Knowing the format and key players can help you make more informed bets.

  • Research the Field:
    Each course has unique characteristics.
Understanding how the course setup (such as length, hazards, and greens) might favor certain types of players can give you an edge.

  • Analyze the Course:
Bets on whether the total points scored in a game will be over or under a set number.

  • Explore Betting Markets:
Outright Winner: Bet on who you think will win the tournament.
This is the most straightforward bet but also the most challenging.
Top Finish Markets: Bet on players to finish in the top 5, 10, or 20.
This type of bet reduces risk compared to betting on the outright winner.
Matchups: Bet on which player will perform better between two players in the same round or over the course of the tournament.
Props and Specials: Look for bets on specific achievements, such as the number of birdies or eagles a player will make, or if there will be a hole-in-one.

  • Consider Betting Strategies:
Value Betting: Look for bets where you believe the odds are higher than the actual probability of the outcome.
Hedging: If you’ve placed multiple bets on different outcomes, you might want to hedge your bets to secure a profit or minimize losses.

By understanding these aspects of betting on the PGA Tour Championship, you’ll have the betting edge to make profitable wagers.

PGA Tour 2023 Fortinet Championship Betting Odds & Analysis

Previous Betting News

The PGA Tour returns to action this week as the newly created FedExFall begins with the Fortinet Championship and concludes with the RSM Classic later in the year. The tournament has been around since 2007 under various title sponsors, with Fortinet taking over as the title sponsor in 2021.

Since 2014, the event has been played at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, California. The tournament is a four-day, individual stroke play event that begins on Thursday, September 14th, and concludes on Sunday, September 17th.

Max Homa returns to Napa looking for his third win in a row at the event. With a victory, Homa would become the first person to win the same event three consecutive seasons since Steve Stricker won the John Deere Classic every year from 2009-11. Homa fired a four-day total of 272 last year, defeating Danny Willett by one shot.

Tournament play begins on Thursday, September 14th, and concludes on Sunday, September 17th. That said, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Fortinet Championship tournament so you can bet against the PGA betting lines.

2023 Fortinet Championship | 17th edition of the Fortinet Championship
Thursday, September 14th – Sunday, September 17th, 2023
Silverado Country Club, Napa, California

Silverado Country Club (North Course)

The original 18-hole layout at Silverado Country Club was developed in 1955 and now plays as the venue’s North Course. In 1966, the North Course underwent a redesign thanks to Robert Trent Jones Jr. and again in 2010 under the direction of professional golfer and businessman Johnny Miller.

Miller’s touches included lengthening the course, widening the fairways, repositioning the bunkers, and rebuilding the tee boxes.

Professionals play the course as a traditional par-72 that plays at just under 7,200 yards from the tips. The averaging winning score over the past five seasons has been 17-under par.

The biggest change this season for players at the North Course is the re-routing of a handful of holes. Holes 1-7 and the 18th remain the same, but the remaining holes have changed since 2022.

Fortinet Championship Field

A solid field awaits this week for golf fans and bettors alike. Typically a weaker field, the new revamped schedule will bring some of the better golfers into the fold that sit outside the top 50 in the FedEx Cup Standings.

Ryder Cup teammates Homa and Justin Thomas headline the field, as Thomas comes into the tournament sitting no. 71 on the points list. American Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson and Vice Captain Stewart Cink will also be in action this week. Cink won this tournament in 2020.

Other notables in the field include Cameron Davis, Sahith Theegala, Andrew Putnam, Brendon Todd, and Eric Cole. These five players finished the Regular Season inside the top 50, advancing to the FedExCup Playoffs last month.

Fortinet Championship Betting Favorites

Homa (+680) is heavily favored pre-tournament as he tries to make it three in a row. The 32-year-old comes in ranked 7th in the world after a successful regular season that included his Fortinet victory and another triumph at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Theegala (+1475) and Thomas (+1525) trail behind the favorite. Theegala finished inside the top 10 in 25% of the tournaments (7 of 28) he tee’d it up in during the regular season. The 25-year-old is still searching for his first PGA Tour victory.

Rounding out the betting favorites are Davis (+1975) and Stephen Jager (+2100). Davis has one career PGA Tour victory, while Jager joins Theegala as betting favorites looking for win No. 1.

2020 Safeway Open Odds & Pick – PGA Tour Betting

Previous Betting News

Okay MyBookie golf betting faithful – after going through the shortest offseason in PGA Tour history, man of the world’s top golfers are right back in action as the 2020-21 season-opening Safeway Open gets underway, live from Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif. On Thursday, September 10. While the 2019-202 PGA Tour season just concluded on Monday with the completion of the 2020 Tour Championship tournament, it’s time to look at the value-packed PGA Tour odds surrounding this year’s Safeway Open.

PGA Tour Betting Predictions – 2020 Safeway Open Odds & Pick

While reigning champion, Cameron Champ, is not in the field this year, the 2020 Safeway Open does feature some big-time names. Thee-time major winner Jordan Spieth is in the field, along with five-time major winner Phil Mickelson and 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia. In addition to those three, veterans, Jim Furyk, Shane Lowry, Brandt Snedeker and Charl Schwartzel will all be playing as well.

2020 Safeway Open Info

Odds To Win 2020 Safeway Open

Brendan Steele

The 37-year-old Steele won this event in 2016 and 2017 and comes into this year’s event having finished inside the top 55 in seven straight events, including his T33 finish at the BMW Championship two weeks ago.

Harold Varner III

The 30-year-old Varner finished T17 at this event a year ago and although he comes into this year’s tournament off a missed cut at the Northern Trust, he also finished T7 in his previous event at the Wyndham Championship. Varner recorded a modest one, Top-1o finish this past season, but five Top 25 finishes. Varner has plenty of talent and could cash in on those skills this weekend.

Jordan Spieth

Spieth missed the cut in his last event at the Northern Trust and consecutive finishes in the 70s, but he also finished T13 at the Memorial in July. More importantly, I like Spieth here simply because he possess a ton of talent, even if he hasn’t shown it recently.

Si-woo Kim

The 30-year-old South Korean comes into this event riding a six-tournament streak of Top-50 finishes that includes a T3 at the Wyndham and a T39 at the Northern Trust the last time out. In 24 tournaments last season, Kim recorded four Top-25 finishes, one Top-10 finish and the aforementioned third place finish. He’ll have a chance.

Shane Lowry

The 33-year-old Irishman reached the FedEx Cup Playoffs last season and although he missed the cut at the Northern Trust the last time out, Lowry did finish T23 at the Wyndham Championship just prior to that while finishing sixth at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in early August.

Previous Betting News

Okay golf betting enthusiasts, while this year’s slate of major championships is in the history books, there are still plenty of opportunities to cash in with some winning stick wagers with the 2019-20 PGA Tour season now heading into its third event.

Justin Thomas, is the prohibitive at 6-1 odds heading into the 2019 Safeway Open, followed by Adam Scott and Patrick Cantlay at identical 11-1 odds. Hideki Matsuyama is a 14-1 pick while Bryson Dechambeau and Sungae Im are identical 25-1 picks to get the win. Also in the field are notable names like Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, John Daly, Brandt Snedeker, Jim Furyk, Jimmy Walker, Pat Perez, Jason Dufner and Marc Leishman.

Defending champion Kevin Tway is also in the field and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will compete on a sponsor’s exemption.

Odds to Win the 2019 Safeway Open

The Favorites

I like Ryan More as a whopping 66-1 pick, seeing as how he finished T2 here a year ago. For that matter, I’m also going to give veteran Brandt Snedeker a realistic chance after he also finished T2 last year. An even better pick to win this year’s event might be 2016 and 2017 winner Brendan Steele, a whopping 80-1 pick right now.

While Justin Thomas is the favorite and elite golfers Adam Scott and Patrick Cantlay will likely challenge, I like a middle-of-the-pack contender here like 2015 winner Emiliano Grillo, 2015 runner-up Kevin Na.

My Pick to Win the 2019 Safeway Open

In the end, I’m going with Brendan Steele simply because he knows this course and has proven on more than one occasion that he knows how to get it done here, although he’s never faced a field this loaded in this event. History repeats itself for the third time in the last four years.

Pick: Brendan Steele

Previous Betting News

Just two weeks after Tiger Woods shook up the world of golf (again) with a historic win at the Tour Championship, the 2018-19 PGA season gets underway when the 2018 Safeway Open gets underway on Thursday, live from the North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California.

While this tournament doesn’t pack the punch of having a ton of top-ranked players competing in it, there are some world class golfers in the field, headlined by the legendary Phil Mickelson first and foremost. More importantly, I believe the 2018 Safeway Open is offering some excellent betting value for golf bettors looking to cash in.

Patrick Cantlay is the Vegas favorite at 14-1 and he’s followed by Brandt Snedeker at 20-1, Ryan Moore at 22-1 and then Joaquin Niemann and Mickelson, both 25-1 picks. Okay, let’s take a look at some of the golf odds and then get to me top three picks to bring home the bacon in this event.

Latest 2018 Safeway Open Odds

My Top Three Picks

Brendan Steele (40-1)

Despite winning this event in each of the past two years, the odds on Brendan Steeler making it three in a row apparently aren’t very good. No matter, I’m going with the California native to pull off the hat trick. Yes, I know that no golfer has won the same event in three consecutive years since Steve Stricker did it at the John Deere Classic from 2009-2011, but I see no reason why the 35-year-old Steele won’t have a great shot to do so. Steele ranked a fantastic 12th in driving distance this past season (310.6 yards) while also ranking 31st in greens in regulation (69.6%) and 59th in eagles per hole. Steele looks like he’s about due for another win too after three top 10 finishes, seven in the top 25 and his win at this event a year ago.

Patrick Cantlay

There’s no denying that the 26-year-old Californian is supremely gifted. He won the Shriners Hospital for Children Open last season while also finishing fourth at the Memorial and an identical T4 at the Genesis Open. More importantly, Cantlay ranked eighth in greens in regulation while also ranking 33rd in driving distance (303.6 yards), 39th in birdie average (3.83) and 17th in scoring average (69.89). many golf observers believe he’s the best player in the field at this event and that alone means he’ll have a shot.

Longshot Pick

Cameron Champ

You might not know who 23-year-old Cameron Champ is, but he’s one of the most gifted young players in the world and he’ll be coming to a living room near you soon. This tournament marks the first chance for the PGA Tour’s new arrivals from its junior circuit Web.com Tour to show off and Champ remains a rookie despite having played in six PGA Tour events this past season. Champ drives it a ton (325.6 yards) and has superstar potential according to everyone that has watched him. I could have gone with someone like Mickelson or maybe Hunter Mahan as my longshot pick, but Champ is offering great odds and he’s super hungry!
