After a week off the PGA Tour returns to action this week in Mexico for the World Wide Technology Championship. For the first time since its debut in 2007, the event will be played on a new course, showcasing the El Cardonal golf course in Los Cabos, Mexico. El Cardonal golf course was designed by Tiger Woods and sits within the Diamante Cabo San Lucas resort.
Russell Henley cruised to a victory in this tournament last year, played at El Camaleon Golf Club in the Riviera Maya. Henley held a six-shot lead after the first three rounds of the tournament and held off a Sunday charge to breeze to a four-shot (23-under, 261 total) triumph over Brian Harman. The win was Henley’s first since a 2017 victory at the Houston Open.
This week marks the first of three final events on the PGA Tour Fall Series as players continue to battle for positioning in the FedEx Cup standings. Players that finish 51-125th in the standings will earn full playing privileges for next season.

2023 World Wide Technology Championship | 16th edition of the World Wide Technology Championship – Fifth PGA Tour Fall series
Thursday, November 2nd – Sunday, November 5th, 2023
Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico
2022 Winner: Russell Henley
El Cardonal Golf Course
The young course opened for play in 2014 under the design of Tiger Woods. This is the first Woods’ designed course to appear on a PGA Tour schedule.
Located on the Pacific-side of Los Cabos, the layout is a traditional par-72 that measures over 7,400 yards. Elevation changes come into play, with a 240-foot drop between the 17th and third hole on the course.
The area of Mexico receives little rain, so expect the course to play firm and fast. Additionally, wind will play a factor in this week’s contest but with large fairways, Tour pros should be able to navigate the conditions off the tee.
2023 World Wide Technology Championship Field
Cameron Young is the highest ranked player in the field (16th) according to the Official World Golf Rankings. Young is joined by Lucas Glover (18th) who comes in ranked the highest in the FedEx Cup standings. In total, seven golfers are in action this week ranked inside the top 50 in the FedEx Cup.
PGA Championship headliner Michael Block earned a spot in the field thanks to his win at the Southern California PGA’s Match Play Championship. This will be Block’s sixth tournament on Tour this season. Block’s T15 at the PGA Championship was the highest finish by a club professional since 1986.
Sahith Theegala looks to continue his torrid fall after picking up his first PGA Tour win at the Fortinet Championship and notching a T19 at the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP a month later.
World Wide Technology Championship Betting Favorites
Ludvig Aberg (+890) enters the week as the betting favorite as the Tour rookie looks to lock up his card for next season. The former Texas Tech star and All-American has been as advertised, representing Europe in the Ryder Cup and sitting 58th in the OWGR and 99th in the FedEx Cup standings.
Young (+1125) returns to action after a two in a half month break, still in search of his first PGA Tour win. Theegala (+1425) comes in playing some of the best golf of his career and sits comfortably inside the Top 50 in the FedEx Cup.
Rounding out the betting favorites are Beau Hossler (+2400) and Stephen Jaeger (+2500). Both players join Young in their search for PGA Tour win no. 1.
