PGA Tour tournament
Thursday, April 25th – Sunday, April 28th, 2024
TPC Louisiana, Avondale, Louisiana
Patrick Cantlay / Xander Schauffele +450
Schauffele was good in the middle two rounds of the RBC Heritage, but his first and last round got the best of him. He was good with the putter, but not strong off the tee. His partner Patrick Cantlay is still looking to find his groove for the 2024 season. They will be looking to notch their second win at the event in the last three years.

Rory Mcllroy / Shane Lowry +700
Mcllroy was not strong in his final round, which sent him to a 33rd place finish at the RBC Heritage. He was in 12th heading into the final day, but unable to get the job done. His partner Shane Lowry is coming off a tie for 64th place. He was 43rd at the Masters. It has not been a great season for Lowry thus far, but he will look to gain some of that magic back here in New Orleans.

Will Zalatoris / Sahith Theegala +1000
Sahith Theegala has been pretty good. He is 7th in the FedEx Cup standings, and moved to 17th in the world rankings. He finished -16 last week, and was second at the RBC Heritage. Prior to that, he made the cut at the masters, and earned nearly $600K. Zalatoris is a Top 10 in the FedEx Cup rankings too. He is coming off a Top 10 finish at the Masters, and 44th at RBC Heritage.

Collin Morikawa / Kurt Kitayama +1600
Morikawa, a Top 20 player, finished in the Top 10 at the RBC Heritage last week. That came after a T3 at the Masters. He is a very talented player that seems to be forming onto his own as the days go by. Kitayama has not found his groove quite yet. He is 70th in the FedEx Cup rankings, and 44th in the world rankings. He has three Top 40 finishes, but nothing in the Top 10 since early February.

Rasmus Højgaard / Nicolai Hojgaard +2200
At just 23 years old, these brothers are up and comers in the golf world. Nicolai is known for his flirting with the Masters a couple weeks ago. He shot a first round 67, and finished tied for 16th place. He has the ability to compete at the top of leaderboards, but we are looking to see if he can sustain over a long weekend. Rasmus has not been with the PGA Stars for a couple weeks, but has shown signs of really solid golf play.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans Odds, Picks, and PGA Betting Analysis
Previous Betting News
It has been a wild two weeks of golf, with Jon Rahm winning the Masters and Matthew Fitzpatrick hanging around to defeat Jordan Spieth in a playoff at the RBC Heritage.
Plenty of money and prestige was on the line in those two tournaments, and now we move on to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a two-golfer team event taking place at TPC Louisiana.
Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are in the field and ready to defend their title. The duo won last year’s event with a score of -29.
They’re one of 80 pairs competing in the team event, which is played fourball, also known as best ball, in the first and third rounds, and alternate shot in the second and fourth rounds.
Schauffele and Cantlay shot a 59 in the first round of last year’s event.

Where: New Orleans, Louisiana

The Favorites – Cantlay and Schauffele +270
Cantlay and Schauffele finished two strokes ahead of Billy Horschel and Sam Burns to win the Zurich Classic in 2022. Both players are playing at an incredibly high level right now and are seemingly due for a win. There’s no better opportunity for them to do so than at the tournament they won last season.
Cantlay finished third at the RBC Heritage last week, finishing at 16-under par. Schauffele made a late charge on the back nine on Sunday to finish fourth at 15-under par. Both players finished in the top-15 at the Masters.
There’s no reason to imagine they won’t at least be in contention this weekend.

The Smart Pick – Homa/Morikawa +700
Max Homa and Collin Morikawa have also been playing well this season, and +700 is great value for the talented duo. Homa struggled the last two weeks but was T6 at THE PLAYERS and finished top 10 in five of the prior six events. He won the Farmers Insurance Open in January.
Morikawa, a two-time major champion, has yet to win this season but has been in contention seemingly every week. He was T10 at the Masters and T13 the week prior at THE PLAYERS. He has four other top-10 finishes this season.
Bet Homa/Morikawa to Win Today

Longshot Pick – Hadwin/Taylor +2900
Both Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor missed the cut at last year’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans while competing with different partners. However, the Canadian duo should have a better fate this year as both players have their moments this season.
Hadwin finished T13 at THE PLAYERS and finished T10 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Taylor, meanwhile, has top-20 finishes in two of his last three starts.

PGA Tour 2022 Zurich Classic Betting Odds, Favorites to Win and Analysis
Previous Betting News
One of the most unique tournaments of the year on the PGA Tour schedule happens this week as players head to Louisiana. Played at TPC Louisiana in Avondale near New Orleans; it is a team stroke play event. PGA Tour players have decided to pair up with one another and attempt to take down other duos.
The defending champions are the two Australians in Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith. Not only do players pair up with a friend this week, but “walk-up” songs are also played on the first tee for the teams. The players have the option to pick their own song, and oftentimes they reach out to the fans for help on this.
Nonetheless, it is a fun time all around for all teams and players. Let’s take a look at some of the betting favorites this week and see what duo could be walking away with the win this week so you can bet against their PGA Tour Odds.
Golf Betting Preview for 2022 PGA Tour Zurich Classic
Hovland and Morikawa +650
Arguably two of the best young players on tour, Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa, have teamed up this week. Hovland is the fifth-ranked player in the world, while Morikawa is the second-best player in the world. This top five combination could prove deadly for the rest of the field this week.
The two players have combined for 12 wins in the last three seasons. Morikawa was a big part of the win for the United States in the Ryder Cup, while Hovland did not play too bad himself for the European team.
With the success of the two throughout the recent years, they will most certainly have a good shot this week at bringing home the win.
Cantlay and Schauffele +800
Two more players that can be considered in the fountain of youth, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, team up this week at TPC Louisiana. It has not been the most ideal start to the season for Xander Schauffele as he has played in nine events with two missed cuts and one top-10.
Luckily, Cantlay has played well this season and is coming off a second-place finish last week at the RBC Heritage. Cantlay lost in a playoff to Jordan Spieth but could get the win this week with his partner.
Even with the two different types of play this season, all it takes is one tournament to get going for a player.
Palmer/Scheffler +900
This will be a very interesting group to watch this week. Will Ryan Palmer be able to kick back and relax while Scottie Scheffler does all the work, or will Palmer have to pick up for Scheffler?
The Masters champion is back and will be a betting favorite this week. Could that be a bad thing as he comes off the best win in his career?
Ryan Palmer continues to pair up with top players at the Zurich Classic, which could make an easy week for him. Scheffler is off to one of the best starts this season that we have ever seen and one of the best starts to a career period.
It would be a good idea to bet on this group this week in Louisiana.

2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans Odds, Preview & Expert Pick
Previous Betting News
The golf world is still buzzing after watching Tiger Woods win The Masters, but it’s back to PGA Tour business this weekend with the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. This is an event that has been around, under many different names, since 1938. Besides changing the name it also recently changed the format, with the last two years seeing the tournament become an event for twosomes.
That format will remain in place for the 2019 season, and we have some really good pairings that have a shot at winning their share of the $7.2 million price bag. Let’s take a closer look at some of the Golf Betting favorites for the 2019 edition.
2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans Odds, Preview & Expert Pick
Location: TPC Louisiana, Avondale, Louisiana
Established: 1938, 81 years ag
Par: 72
Length: 7,425 yards
Tour: PGA
Format: Team stroke play
Prize fund: $7.2 million
Jason Day/Adam Scott (+650)
On paper, this is the strongest pairing in the field, but will that translate to a win for this pair? Day has yet to land atop the leaderboard this season, but he has been in the top 10 no less than 5 different times. Having a partner as strong as Adam Scott may just get him over the finish line for his first win of the season.
Like his Australian partner, Scott has yet to get a win this season, although he has had 3 top 10 finishes. If these two are on top of their game this weekend, it’s tough to imagine them not sitting at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon.
Sergio Garcia/Tommy Fleetwood (+750)
When Sergio Garcia is on top of his game, he is one of the most formidable players on the PGA Tour. He will be looking to bounce back after a poor performance at The Masters, where he failed to make the cut. It’s been an up and down season for him, with a top 5 finish the week before he played in the first major of the year.
Tommy Fleetwood consistently finds a way to stay in reach of the leaders in every tournament he plays in, yet he is still to register his first win on the Tour. A good team, but I think they come up short.
Patrick Reed/ Patrick Cantlay (+1200)
It has not been a particularly good start to the season for Patrick Reed, as he has landed in the top 10 just once, with a tied-7th finish being his best performance of the year. He has really been a non-factor in each of the last 5 tournaments he has entered, so it’s tough seeing him deliver the goods here.
Unlike Reed, Patrick Cantlay has been in fine form, and while he is yet to register his first win of the season, he does have a total of 6 top 10 finishes to his name. This is a dangerous team, so keep an eye on the Patrick’s.
Jon Rahm/Ryan Palmer (+1600)
If you want to talk about consistency on the PGA Tour, you need to make John Rahm part of the conversation. The Spaniard has an incredible 7 top 10 finishes this season, and while he only has 2 career wins on the PGA Tour, his steady play could well benefit his partner here.
Ryan Palmer has 3 career wins on the Tour and has landed in the top 10 on 3 separate occasions this season. This is a bit of an odd pairing, but it’s one that could reap dividends. I really like this pairing at this price.
2017 PGA Zurich Classic Of New Orleans Betting Preview
Previous Betting News
The PGA Zurich Classic of New Orleans is a PGA event that has been around since the 1930’s. Until recent times, it was played at several different courses around the city, but in 2005 it made the move to TPC Louisiana in Avondale, which is where it will once again be played this year. The 7,425 yard Par 72 course is designed to keep scores low, but they may get lower still with the new format that is being introduced for the 2017 version of this event. Instead of going with the single player format, the pros will be paring up into 80 teams of two, which should make for an interesting twist on what we are used to in PGA action. It should also make for some incredibly low scoring, especially with some of the amazing pairings that we have to look forward to watching. Find the latest golf betting picks here.
Analyzing The PGA Zurich Classic Of New Orleans Betting Preview
Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson
Quite possibly the favorites heading into this event, which is slated to begin on Thursday, April 27th. Not only are both Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson players at the top of their game in the early part of the season, they also have the distinction of being the Gold and Silver medal winners at the Rio Olympic Games. This is a formidable pairing that are going to be incredibly tough to beat, although there are a few others out there that could mount a serious challenge.
Jason Day and Rickie Fowler
Jason Day has been one of the better players in the world over the past few years, but it’s fair to say that he has made a bit of a slow start to the 2017 season. A win at this event could certainly help him turn things around, and he had a chance to do that with his partner, Rickie Fowler. The American already has 4 top 10 finishes this season, including a win at the Honda Classic. Fowler is current #8 in the FedEx Cup rankings.
Jordan Spieth and Ryan Palmer
Currently ranked #6 in the FedEx Cup standings, Spieth is off to another fast start this season, landing 4 top 10 finishes and a win at Pebble Beach. Spieth is going for experience with his partner selection, as 40-year old Ryan Palmer seems like an unlikely fit. Palmer is a tour veteran, and he may excel in this new format.
Branden Grace and Louis Oosthuizen
South African Branden Grace is already closing in on $1 million in earnings this season, and while he doesn’t have a win yet this year, he is frequently in the top 20. Oosthuizen has posted very similar stats to his partner this season, making this pairing one that you really need to keep an eye on.
These are the 4 teams that are probably going to be getting the lion’s share of the betting action, but it’s a format that can certainly deliver some surprises. Personally, I like the Day/Fowler pairing, and I think they will be the duo to win it all this weekend.
