MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Brewers @ Rays Series

MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Brewers @ Rays Series

A pair of first-place teams are set to begin a weekend series on Friday night when the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Tampa Bay Rays. Even though both teams are currently sitting in first place, there is a pretty big gap between the two teams.

The Brewers will bring a recoard of 24-19 into this series, but they haven’t been playing great baseball of late. Milwaukee just lost two of three games to the St. Louis Cardinals, and they are looking to get back on track.

The Rays have to finish up a series with the New York Mets on Thursday before returning home to host the Brewers. Tampa Bay enters Thursday with the best record in baseball at 32-12.

Tampa Bay is expected to be a betting favorite in each of the three games in this series, as they have been almost unbeatable at home.

MLB Chicago at Cleveland Series: Friday, May 19 – Sunday, May 21, 2023

Brewers Need Pitching

The Milwaukee Brewers have three dominant starting pitchers in their rotation, but the team ERA is currently sitting at over 4.00. If the Brewers are going to find a way to win games in this series, then the pitching staff must set the tone.

Milwaukee is a team that is dealing with a ton of injuries on the offensive side of the ball, and scoring runs has gotten harder of late. Rowdy Tellez is having a huge season for the Brewers as he leads the way with ten home runs.

The Brewers are a team that doesn’t really do anything extremely well this season, but they have been able to find different ways to win games. Milwaukee will get a day off to try and regroup before this matchup.

Rays Rolling on Offense

The Tampa Bay Rays started off this season extremely hot at the plate, and they haven’t slowed down through the first two months. Tampa Bay will come into this series with at least 86 home runs, and they have power throughout the lineup.

Yandy Diaz leads the Rays with ten home runs and a .321 batting average this season. Tampa Bay is facing some solid pitchers for Milwaukee, but this team has been hitting against everyone.

Pitching is another strength for this Rays team, and they will have one of their best pitchers on the mound to start the series. Shane McClanahan has gone a perfect 7-0 this season for the Rays, and he should have a dominant performance again in this one.

Brewers Will Have to Find Offense

Milwaukee is a team that has shown off plenty of power this season, but the overall offensive numbers don’t look great. The Brewers typically win games with their starting pitching, but that hasn’t been the case this season.

Tampa Bay has gone 19-3 in their home ballpark this season, and they are a team that just continues to play well in all aspects. The Rays won’t have as much rest as the Brewers will have, but that shouldn’t matter much in this series.

Expect that the Rays are going to win at least two of the three games this series, and the Brewers might be lucky to steal a game.
