2024 MLB Season So Far

The Major League Baseball Playoffs are always an event that comes with plenty of drama, and that has definitely been the case through the first week of action.

There are currently just eight teams remaining with a chance to win the World Series, and it’s going to be a battle to get to that point.

MLB decided that the National League would get the jump on things this past weekend as each of the two NLDS series had two games played.

Both of those series are now sitting at 1-1 heading into a Game 3, and that is going to lead to some great betting options.

Here is a look at the series prices for each matchup heading into Game 3, and now is the perfect time to make some wagers.

Writer’s Picks for the Final Games of the Regular Season

Mets-Phillies in a Battle

The National League East Division is always extremely competitive, but it’s not often that the rivalries continue into the postseason.

That is the case this year as the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are currently battling it out.

New York won Game 1 of this series, and they were just a few outs away from taking a 2-0 series lead.

Philadelphia was able to respond to come away with a massive win in Game 2, and the Phillies are now the favorites to win the series outright.

Series prices currently have the Phillies at -145 to advance to the NLCS, while the Mets are currently sitting at +115.

That’s extremely tight when it comes to betting on the winner of the series, and that is something to keep in mind moving forward.

This series is now going to shift to New York for the next two games, and the winner of Game 3 is typically the team that moves on.

Now is when you will get the most betting value, and you should be looking to act.

NL West Rivalry Heating Up

The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers are teams that are loaded with star power, and they are currently battling it out in the NLDS.

Los Angeles picked up a 7-5 win in the series opener, but it was the San Diego Padres that won a 10-2 game in Game 2.

These series prices are as tight as they could possibly be, and this does feel like a series that is destined to go to five games.

Now that the Padres have stolen home field advantage heading into Game 3, they are the betting favorites to win the series and move to the NLCS.

San Diego has been trending in the right direction for months, and they now have plenty of momentum as they are heading home.

The Padres currently have moneyline odds sitting at -125 to win the series, while the odds for the Dodgers are set at -105.

Since this is such a competitive series, you could wait until Game 3 and still be able to get some great odds.

Winning two games in a row in this matchup will be hard, and that will keep both teams in the mix.

2022 MLB Playoffs : Phillies vs. Braves NLDS Betting Preview

Previous Betting News

Everybody in the world of baseball thought the NL East may dominate the postseason, but nobody expected this. With the New York Mets eliminated, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves are battling not only to prove they are the best team in their division, but that they are the best team in MLB.

Game two between the No. 2 seed and the No. 6 seed occurs on a Wednesday; you have no excuses not to follow along closely and bet on some October baseball.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves NLDS Game Two

The Underdogs in Philly

It is pretty easy to fall into the underdog narrative if you are the Philadelphia Phillies. You received little attention all season long as all eyes were on the race between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. The Phillies snuck into the playoffs but with all eyes on them now, how will they fare?

After not having their studs to start at the beginning of the NLDS, Zach Wheeler will have had five days rest and should be ready to fire in game two. Wheeler was merely untouchable in the Wild Card game against St. Louis. The RHP threw 6.1 innings allowing only two hits and no runs. A confident Wheeler could cause some problems for the home team.

Philadelphia has been above average when it comes to covering the spread at 83-79 in the regular season. Anything around or above the .500 mark is very impressive. Close your eyes, Philly fans, as the Phillies were 40-41 on the road and 34-47 against teams over .500 this year. Their over/under in the regular season was 79-75-7.

It’s Hot in Atlanta

It does not really get cold in Atlanta, and neither does their baseball team. The Atlanta Braves are one of the hottest teams in baseball at just the right time as they look to win back-to-back World Series.

The Braves are good on all sides of the ball. Their ERA, which is the fifth-best in all of MLB, shows just how deep their rotation is. They have the old reliable Charlie Morton, and they have rookie sensation, Spencer Strider. Any pitcher who has stepped on the hill for Atlanta has dominated, and it sure helps when you have a dangerous offense providing runs for you.

Atlanta has the same record against the spread as the Phillies at 83-79. The fans at Truist Park pack the stands, and the Braves feed off their energy. Home-field advantage is key in this series, as the Braves were 55-26 on the moneyline at home.

Betting Tips for Game One

Check MyBookie for all the latest odds for game two of the NLDS between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves. There is nothing better than a matchup between division rivals; in fact, three out of the four playoff series’ feature divisional opponents.

Throughout the 19 games played between these teams in the regular season, the Braves won the season series with 11 wins. The two teams played seven times in September, and the Braves won six of those games. In their most recent four-game series, the over-hit in every game.

You have two potent offenses, but game two should be a pitcher’s duel. The Phillies are simply a different team with their ace on the mound, and well, you can always expect a good showing from the Braves on the mound. The Braves are the higher seed and have been the better team all year, but they have a lot higher expectations.
