Must Bet NFL Games Week 8

Must Bet NFL Games Week 8

Written by on October 25, 2022

It never pays to get off to a slow start in any sport, but in the NFL, where every team plays just 17 games, things tend to be a little less forgiving than they are in sports with longer seasons. The harsh reality is that teams coming into Week 8 sitting below .500 have some serious work to do in the second half of the season if they are to turn things around and make the playoffs. That window is closing rather quickly, which means we are at the stage of the season where every game is still important. Of course, some are more important than others, and those are the matchups that we are going to focus on as we look ahead to the weekend. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the must bet games in NFL Week 8.

Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Prior to the start of the season, I’ll bet that there were a few people who may have tagged this matchup as a potential Super Bowl. Unless things change rather quickly, the thought of these two teams meeting in the Championship Game looks like a longshot at best. The Ravens have the lead in the North, but they are just 4-3 and can now feel the Bengals breathing down their neck. The Buccaneers are on top in the South, but at 3-4, they are lucky to be playing in a weak division. This could be a season changing game for both teams on Thursday night.

San Francisco 49ers at LA Rams

The feeling was that the NFC West was going to be something of a 2-horse race between this pair. 7 weeks into the season, and neither team is on top, with that distinction going to the Seattle Seahawks. Still, it’s an incredibly tight race in the West, and it is these divisional matchups that are going to prove to be the difference as we come down the stretch. I don’t think it’s being overly dramatic to suggest that this is a must win game for both teams.

Green Bay Packers at Buffalo Bills

This is a season where, for the most part, we have come to expect the unexpected. Sure, there were some concerns about the wide receivers with the Packers after Davante Adams skipped town, but I’m not sure anyone expected things to be as bad as they have been. The Packers are in real danger of losing touch with the Vikings in the North, and things might be about to get even worse with a trip to Buffalo coming on Sunday night. This, though, is still a massive matchup and one that is considered a must bet.

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns

The AFC North is still very much up for grabs, with the potential for a lead change on the table this weekend. If the Ravens lose to the Bucs on Thursday night, the Bengals will go into the Monday night game knowing that they have a shot at taking over the top spot. Its not going to be easy, though, as while the Browns are sinking right now, they are still not easy to take out at home, especially in a huge divisional game.
