There’s just one unbeaten team left in the NFL this season and that’s the Los Angeles Rams. They also happen to be the biggest favorites on the Week 7 NFL Betting board as L.A. heads up the California coast to take on the division rival 49ers.

Last Season

The teams split in 2017. In San Francisco on a Thursday night, the Rams won 41-39. Jared Goff threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns and Todd Gurley ran for two TDs and caught another. The Rams nearly blew a 15-point lead, though, giving up two late touchdowns, fumbling a kickoff return and failing to recover an onside kick. But Los Angeles managed to stop a potential game-tying 2-point conversion.

In San Francisco, the Niners won 34-13 in the regular-season finale. The Rams rested pretty much everyone with the NFC West clinched. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns – he’s out for this season. The fact Gurley didn’t play probably cost him the rushing title.

Why Bet on LA Rams?

This team just looks like the NFL’s best. The Rams feature the top-ranked offense in the NFL, Teddy Gurley leads the league in rushing yards and Jared Goff is fourth in passing yards.

They won 23-20 at Denver last week in what could have been a trap game in wintry conditions. Goff completed 14-of-28 passes for 201 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception. Goff had his first scoreless start of the season as the Rams gutted the Broncos on the ground. He now has just one touchdown and three picks over his past two starts, both Rams victories.

Cooper Kupp was held without a catch on one target in the Rams’ Week 6 win. Kupp appeared to wreck his knee in the first half before stunningly returning after the break. Kupp’s knee injury looked much worse than it was, though he’s still dealing with an MCL sprain, which is usually a multi-week injury. He won’t play in this one. The Rams still have plenty of receiving weapons to surround Jared Goff including Gurley, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks.

Rams WR Josh Reynolds popped up on the injury report this week as limited with a hand injury, but Sean McVay said that he would be OK to play against the 49ers. Reynolds is expected to start and play a significant role with Kupp out with a knee sprain.

Gurley rushed 28 times for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns vs. Denver, adding two receptions for 17 additional yards. It was Gurley’s career high in yards. Gurley could win the MVP Award. He leads the NFL with 870 scrimmage yards and nine rushing touchdowns through the first six weeks of the 2018 season. With 130 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on Sunday, Gurley can become the fifth different player in NFL history with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in his team’s first seven games of a season.

Why Bet on San Francisco?

The 49ers nearly pulled a big upset Monday in Green Bay but folded down the stretch and lost 33-30. Mason Crosby kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired to cap an 81-yard drive set up by Kevin King’s interception with 1:07 left. The final drive was extended after 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was flagged for illegal contact on third-and-15 that wiped out a sack of Aaron Rodgers with 43 seconds left.

C.J. Beathard completed 16-of-23 passes for 245 yards, two touchdowns, and that one costly interception. Beathard played well for 58 minutes. He had a near-perfect passer rating and was carving up a banged-up Packers secondary, but a late interception with 1:07 left and the game tied at 30-30 set Rodgers up at his own 10-yard line. Beathard threw 67- and 30-yard touchdowns to Marquise Goodwin.

Rams vs 49ers should be an easy victory for L.A.

Goodwin caught 4-of-5 targets for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Battling quad and hamstring issues much of the first five weeks, Goodwin entered Monday with a combined five catches for 54 yards and one score in three games played. Raheem Mostert rushed 12 times for 87 yards in the loss. The fourth-year UDFA out of Purdue entered Monday with 13 career carries for 47 yards. He and Matt Breida split the work, with Breida getting 14 carries to Mostert’s 12. Alfred Morris, who had been splitting time with Breida, didn’t get a touch. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Mostert over Morris “isn’t permanent.”

The Niners signed Tom Savage this week. They have wanted to add a third quarterback since Jimmy Garoppolo was lost for the season. Yet Savage won’t be the No. 2 on Sunday as that will remain second-year UDFA Nick Mullens. Mullens completed 31-of-43 (72 percent) for 396 yards (9.21 YPA), one touchdown and three interceptions during the preseason.
