It’s hard to believe that we’ve made it to this point, but Week 17 of the NFL will take place in 2022. This week will once again be surrounded by a lot of mystery as teams continue to lose players to the league’s health and safety protocol.
While they may lose some, others may see the return of some of their top players. Here is some betting advice for the upcoming week. As teams make their final pushes for playoff spots and positioning, this week will be critical for many teams.
Here’s what we have for you so you can get ready to continue making your bets against the NFL odds.
Betting Advice on Week 17 NFL games
Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers (-7)
While this line has jumped to seven points after starting at 6.5, many still feel that the Packers will cover this spread. At 12-3, the Packers currently hold the top spot in the NFC. They want to keep this, as this would get them a home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Unfortunately for Green Bay, the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys are just one game behind them in the standings, and a Green Bay slip-up could cost them dearly.
Green Bay hosts the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Minnesota is coming off of a hard-fought loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Not only did Minnesota lose the game, but they also had some injuries in that loss.
Wide receiver Adam Thielen re-injured his ankle, so we’re not sure what his status will be for Sunday’s game. Even if he plays, he’ll be limited as to what he can do. We’re not sure whether or not Dalvin Cook will be cleared to play, as he sat out last week’s game due to a positive COVID test.
If word comes out that these two won’t play or will be very limited, the line may jump even higher. We suggest that you grab Green Bay now. This will be the Sunday night game, and Aaron Rodgers always seems to play well in the spotlight.
We know that seven can be a tricky number, but we have faith in Rodgers and the Packers in this one.
Philadelphia Eagles (-3) @ Washington Football Team
If the playoffs were to start tomorrow, the Eagles would clinch the final spot in the NFC. They currently hold the seventh position, which is the final wild-card spot. By way of winning five of their last six, the Eagles would be a postseason team.
The Eagles will take on their NFC East rival Washington next weekend in a huge game for them. A loss could very well end their playoff hopes, while a win would further solidify their playoff spot. The Eagles are meeting up with the WFT at just the right time, as they are coming off of an embarrassing loss to Dallas on Sunday night football.
Not only was the loss embarrassing, but there was a fight on the sideline that was caught on camera, and it was obvious that Washington may just be playing out the season as they are basically out of playoff contention.
If New Orleans can beat Miami on Monday night, they’ll be right there with Philadelphia. Although the Eagles hold the tiebreaker over the Saints, the Saints have an easier schedule going forward as Philadelphia will play Dallas in Week 18.
We really like the Eagles in this one. They know that they need this victory badly, and they are running into a team that is ready for the season to be over with. We think that the Eagles win this low-scoring affair by a touchdown..
