Like every season, there are a handful of NFL win totals that we can pretty much take to the bank. Some teams are already being overplayed while others have been undervalued. Check out five win total predictions that you can back the NFL betting lines with confidence.
NFL Win Total Predictions You Can Bet With Confidence
2022-2023 NFL Regular Season
When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023
Arizona Cardinals Under 9.5
Bet Cardinals to Win Super Bowl
But the Arizona Cardinals made the playoffs last season, right? That was last season. If you dig deep into Kyler Murray’s stats, it’s obvious there’s a reason the Cards are hesitant to hand out a mega contract.
Counting the playoff contest, Kyler threw 6 interceptions in Zona’s last 8 games. He threw 2 picks in the wildcard playoff loss to the L.A. Rams.
More importantly, Murray showed absolutely no ability to lead Arizona. But it’s not all on Murray. We must question Kliff Kingsbury’s play-calling in the final 8, 5 of which were losses.
DeAndre Hopkins must sit out the first 6 games. The defense won’t be better than it was last season, and Murray is disgruntled over his contract. Expect Zona’s late season slide to carry over to this season. 8 wins is a stretch. 9 would be a surprise.
New Orleans Saints | Over 7.5
Once Tom Brady said he was returning to play another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, everyone forgot about the New Orleans Saints. Losing Sean Payton to retirement is a big deal.
But it’s not as big of a deal as so many believe. Pete Carmichael, the offensive coordinator, doesn’t change the job he had with Payton. Carmichael was calling plays in 2019 and 2020.
Dennis Allen has been the Saints’ defensive coordinator for the past seven seasons. Allen was the Raiders head coach. So he knows what to expect.
Jameis Winston was having a decent 2021 until he blew out a knee. He’s looked good in mini-camp. More importantly, the Saints have added weapons like Jarvis Landry and rookie Chris Olave. If Michael Thomas returns one-hundred percent, Winston will be throwing to one of the best group of receivers in the league.
Also, the defense is a top five unit if everyone stays healthy. Adding strong safety Tyrann Mathieu is huge.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Under 11.5
Bet Buccaneers to Win Super Bowl
The Saints will challenge the Buccaneers for the NFC South title, which means Tampa Bay is going to find it very difficult to win 11 games, much less 12.
Brady is back. He’ll have a good season. All Terrific Tom knows how do is have good seasons. But the Bucs start off with a couple of road games, at Dallas and at New Orleans.
After playing on the road versus the Cowboys and the Saints, Tampa must protect their turf against Green Bay and Kansas City. That’s four teams that can beat the Bucs. So there’s a good chance Tampa starts the season 1-3 or possibly even 0-4.
Las Vegas Raiders | Over 8.5
Denver traded for Russell Wilson, the Los Angeles Chargers look like a Super Bowl contender, and Patrick Mahomes is still KC’s quarterback, which is why the Las Vegas Raiders are +700 to win the AFC West.
But although all three Raider rivals have a reason to believe they can win the division, Vegas might be the best of the bunch. Wide receivers like Davante Adams can change a team.
He already has rapport with Derek Carr because the two were mates at Fresno State. Also, Josh McDaniel is calling the plays.
The defense is underrated. Few ends are as talented as Maxx Crosby. The Raiders win at least 10. Don’t be surprised if Vegas takes the division title.
Cincinnati Bengals | Over 9.5
The only reason the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t win the Super Bowl is because the Rams’ defensive front seven pressured Joe Burrow. Knowing this, Cincinnati signed former Cowboy La’el Collins to play right tackle and former Buccaneer Alex Cappa to play right guard.
Burrow will play behind a stout offensive line this season. So expect Joe to light up defenses like he’s putting lights on his Christmas tree.
The defense adds rookie Daxton Hill. At Michigan, Hill was a safety, but he can play any defensive back position, including corner.
Forget 10 wins. Think 12 to 14. That’s how much better the Bengals are this season than they were last season.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
