Betting 2024 US Open Tennis Tournament

The field at the 2024 US Open continues to shrink, and there will be just four players remaining on both the men’s and women’s side of things after today.

That means that it’s time for the final few quarterfinal matchups, and there are some interesting matches on the schedule.

Betting on tennis can be a bit confusing when looking at the lines for early in an event, but we are well beyond that point now.

It’s time to narrow your focus to each of the matches taking place, and there will be some great betting options to explore.

Writer’s Picks fo the Quarterfinals of the US Open

Dimitrov-Tiafoe

One of the quarterfinal matches on the men’s side of things will be a battle between Grigor Dimitrov and Frances Tiafoe.

These are not two men that are seen as title contenders in big events, but each man is getting close at the US Open.

Dimitrov is the slight moneyline favorite in this matchup at -170, but Tiafoe is getting respect at +140 as well.

That should set the stage for a great battle between the men, and this is a match that will take a long time to complete.

Since the odds are so close, backing Tiafoe at +140 to stay hot and pull off the upset will be the way to go.

Zverev Won’t Go Down

Alexander Zverev is only three wins away from winning the US Open, but his most difficult challenge is coming on Tuesday.

Zverev will be taking on Taylor Fritz, and he is going to have the entire crowd behind him in this match.

Not only is Fritz going to get a huge boost from the home crowd, but his odds at +140 suggest that he might just be good enough to come away with a win.

It’s been an inspired run for Fritz up to this point, but everything is going to come crashing down as Zverev (-170) will advance to the semifinals.

Badosa-Navarro Ready to Meet

It’s been another unpredictable tournament for the women, and that has been a theme throughout the year in the sport of tennis.

Paula Badosa and Emma Navarro are both in the quarterfinals, and neither player was expected to get to this point.

The odds for Badosa are sitting at -130, and she is a player that appears to be playing the best tennis of her life.

Navarro has been trending in the right direction as well, and her odds are now sitting at EVEN.

Since there have been a ton of upsets so far in the tournament, now would be a good time to continue that trend by betting on Navarro at EVEN money to get a win.

No Stopping Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka continues to be one of the favorites to win the US Open on the women’s side of things, and she has played like it up to this point.

Every player is prone to an upset at some point, but Sabalenka just continues to shine bright.

She now has moneyline odds sitting at -365, and it appears as if Qinwen Zheng is going to be the latest victim.

There just is no stopping Sabalenka in this event, and betting against her would be a crucial mistake.

2023 US Open Odds for the Final Quarterfinals Matches

Previous Betting News

The first of two quarterfinal days at the US Open is behind us, and on Wednesday, we’ll learn the final semifinalists in both draws. American Coco Gauff stormed out to an easy win over Jelena Ostapenko, and she will meet No. 10 seed Karolina Muchova in one women’s semifinal.

No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic had no problem at all with American Taylor Fritz, and now he will face another American, 20-year-old Ben Shelton, in the semis.

As for the other parts of the draw, MyBookie has the best US Open tennis odds for Wednesday’s action from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York.

2023 US Open Odds for the Final Quarterfinals Matches | MyBookie ATP Betting Preview

2023 US Open Tennis Championships | 143rd edition of the US Open
Quarterfinals: Wednesday September 6th, 2023

Sabalenka, Keys Favored

No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka probably expected to face her nemesis Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinals, but instead, she will be a big favorite against Qinwen Zheng. The No. 23 seed from China has one career WTA title, and this is her first career grand slam. Sabalenka will move to the top spot in the world after this tournament, and she is playing in her fifth straight slam quarterfinal, and she is 6-0 in her career in this round.

These two have never met on the WTA Tour. Sabalenka is favored to win at -380 on the moneyline, and Zheng is +248 to win. Over 21.5 games is +102, and under 21.5 games is -120. To back Sabalenka, the play is -1.5 sets at -148.

The odds are much closer for the night semifinal as No. 17 Madison Keys faces No. 9 Marketa Vondrousova. As in the other match, these two have never played each other on the WTA Tour. Keys is favored at MyBookie at -141, and Vondrousova is +102.

Experience won’t be a factor in this one, as Keys holds a 5-4 grand slam quarterfinal record and one final appearance. Vondousova won Wimbledon this summer in her first trip to the quarterfinals since falling in the 2019 French Open final.

Over 21.5 games is -120, and the under is +100. This match has all the feels of a three-setter, which is +112.

Alcaraz, Medvedev Headed For Showdown?

No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz will find things much tougher this round, but the defending champion is still a huge favorite at MyBookie. His match against No. 12 Alexander Zverev gets the prime time slot on Arthur Ashe, and Alcaraz is a -480 moneyline favorite. Zverev is +330 on the moneyline to reach the semifinals.

Alcaraz has reached the quarters in four straight slams in which he has played and six of the last eight. He is 3-2 in this round for his career, while Zverev is 6-3, including a 2-0 mark at this slam. Zverev had to play nearly five hours on Monday to beat Jannik Sinner in five sets to reach this round, while Alcaraz cruised to an easy straight-set win.

Zverev leads the all-time series 3-2, but Alcaraz dominated their last match, 6-1, 6-2 on clay in Madrid. Zverev won their only slam meeting, a four-setter at the 2022 French Open. Look for both players to win a set, but ultimately, Alcaraz is stronger and well-rested to win this match.

Heading into the US Open Semifinals

The other semifinal features two Russians going head-to-head as No. 3 Daniil Medvedev is favored over No. 8 Andrey Rublev. Medvedev won the US Open in 2021, has three slam runner ups and is 6-1 in quarterfinals.

Rublev lost in the quarters at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, plus last year’s US Open, and he’s 0-8 in slam quarterfinals.

Medvedev is -270 on the moneyline to win, while Rublev is +202. Total games is 38.5, with the over at -121 and the under at +107. Medvedev leads the all-time series 5-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 win this season. He has twice knocked off Rublev in the Grand Slam quarterfinals, both times in straight sets.

ATP & WTA 2022 US Open Betting Update: Must Wager Quarterfinal Matches to Not Miss

Previous Betting News

After a wild Tuesday night in which all but the singles quarter-final matches were wiped out due to rain, we’re off and running at the US Open. There are six players left in both men’s and women’s singles draws, with another two players due to leave the tournament following Wednesday’s quarter-final matches.

Casper Ruud knocked off Matteo Berrettini in three sets in Tuesday’s first quarter-final, and Karen Khachonov overcame Nick Kyrgios, who later released his frustration on his rackets on the sidelines, in a five-set thriller on Tuesday night.

In the women’s draw, American teenage sensation Coco Gauff fell in straight sets to Caroline Garcia, who is arguably the hottest player in tennis right now – male or female. Garcia will play Ons Jabeur, who defeated Ilja Tomljanovic in her quarter-final match earlier in the day. It’s time to look at the remaining quarterfinals matchups so you can continue betting against the US Open Odds.

Updated 2022 US Open Betting Opportunities Heading Into the Quarterfinals

Men’s Outright Odds

Kyrgios Still Chasing First Grand Slam Title

Kyrgios is arguably one of the most talented players on the ATP Tour, and he has shown that this season. For the most part, he’s been able to push aside his emotions and angry outbursts and has played quality, entertaining tennis. That all came to a disappointing end on Tuesday night.

Kyrgios was a popular pick to win the US Open, especially after reaching his first Grand Slam final earlier this year at Wimbledon and then defeating world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the Round of 16. His spot in the semifinals seemed all but assured, but Khachanov was the better player on Tuesday night.

Wednesday’s Quarter-Finals

Andrey Rublev (-125) meets Frances Tiafoe (+100) at 2 p.m. EST today at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Both players are unlikely quarter-finalists but have taken down some of the world’s best players en route to reaching this point.

Tiafoe upset Rafael Nadal in the Round of 16 and has a ton of momentum heading into the match. As the only American left in the tournament, he’ll also have the vocal support of the crowd. Tiafoe advancing would make for a great story, and he’s certainly capable of it.

Jannik Sinner (+150) meets Carlos Alcaraz (-188) in the other quarter-final under the lights on Wednesday night. Alcaraz is now the betting favorite to win the tournament, but he’s 0-2 against Sinner this year and previously lost to him at Wimbledon. The future of the sport will be on display in this match between two young guns but expect Sinner to keep rolling against Alcaraz.

Wednesday’s Quarter-Finals

Karolina Pliskova (+100) takes on Aryna Sabalenka (-125) in the first quarter-final, while tournament betting favorite Iga Swiatek (-225) meets American favorite Jessica Pegula (+175) under the lights.

Sabalenka is coming off of a three-set victory over Danielle Collins, while Pliskova won a three-set affair against Victoria Azarenka. Expect Sabalenka to move a step closer to winning her first singles Grand Slam – she’s a two-time doubles champion.

Pegula, like Tiafoe, will benefit from the home crowd advantage. She’s 1-2 against Swiatek in her career but is 1-1 against her on the hard court. Pegula has lost only one set this tournament. Expect her to take down Swiatek in three sets.

Auger-Aliassime Through Into Semi-Finals

Felix Auger-Aliassime has secured his career-first Grand Slam semi-final after beating Carlos Alcaraz. Even though the Spaniard retired from his quarter-finals match, the 21-year-old Canadian was set to win the game.

Auger-Aliassime has already written history by making it to the quarter-finals yesterday, having eliminated Evgeny Donskoy (3-1), Bernabe Zapata Miralles (3-0), Roberto Bautista Agut (3-2), and Frances Tiafoe (3-1) in his opening rounds of the 2021 U.S. Open. Even in the quarter-finals, the Canadian proved to be the better player, having won the first set 6-3 and was leading 3-1 in the second set before his opponent retired.

Although a historic moment for Auger-Aliassime, it was a bittersweet finish to the tournament for the 18-year-old Alcaraz. The Spaniard was sensational in New York, having come through back-to-back five-set victories against no.3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and Peter Gojowczyk to become the youngest men’s Grand Slam quarter-finalists in nearly 32 years.

Unfortunately, he ran out of gas on Tuesday and was forced to forfeit the match.

Interestingly, the match between Auger-Aliassime and Alcaraz was the youngest U.S. Open quarter-finals since 1984, when a 19-year-old Pat Cash faced 20-year-old Mats Wilander.

“I think he was good at hiding in the first set, if he already had something,” said Auger-Aliassime after the match.

“I don’t know if it was already from the previous matches or if it happened in the first set, but I was definitely surprised. You come into a Grand Slam quarter-final expecting the best out of the player, you expect a battle, especially against Carlos. I’ve been following his career, and I’ve never seen him really give up a matchーhe’s a fighter.”

Auger-Aliassime will face off against Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals on Friday, September 10. Medvedev has rumbled through the competition, having won four of his five games in straight sets. The only player against whom Medvedev lost a set was Botic van de Zandschulp who he met in the quarter-finals (6-3, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5).

Fernandez Stuns Svitolina

19-year-old Leylah Fernandez has joined the list of young tennis stars who have impressed at this year’s U.S. Open, having stunned no.5 seeded Elina Svitolina (6-3, 3-6, 7-6) to make it into the women’s semi-finals. With that, the world no.73 has emerged as the youngest woman to reach the final four in 16 years – since Maria Sharapova in 2005.

By making it into the semi-finals, Fernandez is just two steps away from emulating the success of her compatriot, Bianca Andreescu, who was also 19-years-of-age when she won the 2019 U.S. Open.

Although an impressive win from Fernandez, her victory against Svitolina wasn’t her most impressive moment on the U.S. court. She has previously eliminated Kaia Kanepi (7-5, 7-5) in R2, as well as the current world no.3 Naomi Osaka (5-7, 7-6, 6-4) in R3, to which he added another convincing victory (4-6, 7-6, 6-2) against Angelique Kerber in R4.

The 2021 U.S. Open marks Fernandez’s most successful Grand Slam tournament of her career. Her best Grand Slam placement to date happened in 2020 when she reached R3 of the French Open.

Her other Grand Slam placements include two R1 exits at the Australian Open (2020,2021), an R1 exit from the 2021 Wimbledon, and an R2 exit at the 2021 French Open. Last year, Fernandez made it to R2 at the U.S. Open when she had to admit defeat to Sofia Kenin (4-6, 3-6).

Fernandez is now getting ready to face off against world no.2 Aryna Sabalenka, who she will clash with on Friday, September 10.

2018 US Open Women’s Quarterfinals Betting Preview

Previous Betting News

It’s going to be another busy week in New York City, with the US Open at Flushing Meadow heading not its second week starting on Monday. While some of the quarter-finals have been set on the men’s and women’s tournaments, there are still some games to be played before we get to the final eight in both tournaments.

While the top two seeds are still alive and well in the men’s tournament, the same cannot be said on the women’s side, where we have seen more than our fair share of surprises. A clear 2018 US Open betting favorite has emerged in the top half of the draw, but let’s look ahead to see what we can expect in the early part of the week at the US Open.

Tennis Betting Preview for 2018 US Open Women’s Quarterfinals

Top Half of the Draw

It is probably fair to suggest that #17 seed Serena Williams is the prohibitive favorite here, although she did get a little bit of a scare in the previous round, which was all the more surprising given how easily she had taken care of sister Venus in the round prior to that one.

She will have a tough go of it in the quarter-finals when she faces #8 seed Karolina Pliskova. They have met twice in the past and have split those two meetings, making this one a bit of a coin flip. I like Serena to win and move on.

#3 seed Sloane Stephens is the highest seeded player left in the tournament, and she has been in very good form in the early rounds. Next up will be Anastasija Sevastova, who has been taken to 3 sets in each of the last 2 rounds, although one of those was an impressive win against #7 seed Elina Svitolina.

Sevastova, who is in as the #19 seed, has lost 2 of her 3 meetings with Sloane Stephens, so I believe she is in real trouble here.

Bottom Half of the Draw

WTA’s #22 seed Maria Sharapova will meet #30 Carla Suarez Navarro for a spot in the quarter-finals, with the edge in this one going to Sharapova, who has won 4 of 5 against Navarro.

The winner of that one will face either #14 Madison Keys or #29 Dominika Cibulkova. The smart money there would definitely be on Keys, as she has won all 4 previous meetings. If it Sharapova and Keys who meet, then I am going to have my money on Keys, despite the fact that she lost to Sharapova in their only other meeting.

The bottom half of the draw is wide open, as we still have a player of unseeded players alive in the 4th round. We will get to them in a moment, but this round opens with #26 Aryna Sabalenka going against #20 Naomi Osaka. This will be the first meeting between these two, and I like Osaka to get the win.

The other 4th round game will see Marketa Vondrousova go against Lesia Tsurenko, in a battle of unseeded players. I like Tsurenko to get the win in this one, but I think she will be in way over her head if it is Keys that she ends up facing in the quarter-finals.

US Open Men’s Quarter-Final Winning Predictions

Previous Betting News

We are in the second week of play at Flushing Meadow, and that means that the US Open is now getting down to the later stages of the tournament. The quarter-finals on the men’s side are all set to go, and there are a couple of surprises in there. The one thing that isn’t surprising, though, is that we are still on track for the Djokovic/Murray final that the majority of tennis fans are hoping for. Let’s take a look at the four quarter-final games, with a few betting odds predictions sprinkled in for good measure.

US Open Men’s Quarter-Final Winning Predictions

Novak Djokovic (1) Vs Jo Wilfred Tsonga (9)

There were some concerns about the top seed coming into this tournament, as a niggling wrist injury had seen his form dip over the summer. Novak Djokovic appears to be just fine now, though, as he has breezed through the opening three rounds of the tournament without really breaking a sweat. He has a tough opponent in Tsonga, but the issue here is that we never really know what we are going to get out of the Frenchman. Tsonga can be brilliant one day, and then petulant and uninterested the next. Which version will show up on Wednesday? Djokovic is 15-6 all-time versus Tsonga, and I like the Serb to win this one in 4 sets.

Lucas Pouille (24) Vs Gael Monfils (10)

It has been a good year for France at the US Open, and we are guaranteed to have at least one Frenchman in the upcoming semi-finals. Monfils has been on fire at this tournament, and has made it to the quarter-finals with relative ease. The same cannot be said for Pouille, as he has had to endure a trio of 5-set games, including a win over Rafael Nadal in the third round. These two have only met once before, at the 2015 Australian Open, and it was Monfils who won in 5 sets. Look for him to win again, only this time in 4.

Juan Martin Del Potro Vs Stan Wawrinka (3)

Argentinian Del Potro came into this tournament unseeded, but we really shouldn’t be surprised that he has done this well so far. This was a player who was very much on the rise before being hampered by wrist injuries over the past couple of seasons. He looks fit and healthy, and came into this event having won silver in Rio. Wawrinka is in the quarter-finals for the fourth straight year, but he has not looked entirely convincing this time around. This could be a tricky one for him, as he lost to Del Potro earlier this season at Wimbledon. I think we could see the upset here, with Del Potro winning in 5 sets.

Kei Nikoshori (6) Vs Andy Murray (2)

Andy Murray is, if nothing else, a model of consistency. This is his 22nd appearance in the quarter-finals in his last 23 Grand Slam tournaments. He has dominated in each of his three games so far, and his serve is reaching speeds that makes them close being impossible to return. Kei Nikoshori of Japan has also been playing well at this tournament, but is running into a man who is at the top of his game at the moment. I like Murray to win the whole thing, and I like him to win this one in 4 sets.

US Open Women’s Quarter-Finals Expert Predictions

Previous Betting News

The US Open has once again provided us with some real excitement and a healthy dose of quality tennis, and we are now getting down to the wire in the women’s event at Flushing Meadows. Serena Williams came in as the overwhelming betting odds favorite, and she has certainly lived up to the hype, blowing through the opening three rounds to make it all the way to the quarter-finals. There are some familiar faces in the final eight, but there are also a couple of surprises, to the point where we are going to definitely see an unranked player in the final four. Let’s take a look at the quarter-final match-ups, and make some predictions as we go.

US Open Women’s Quarter-Finals Expert Predictions

Serena Williams (1) Vs Simona Halep (5)

While Serena Williams was the favorite to win, there were some concerns about the state of her shoulder, but it appears as though those worries have been unfounded. She has looked very strong, and has been having some real success with her always powerful first serve. Simona Halep can win this one of her return game stays on point. She is definitely at her best on the hard court, and could give Serena a tough game if she can play to her very best. These two have met 8 times in the past, and it has been Serena who has dominated with 7 wins. I think she wins this one and moves on in straight sets.

Karolina Pliskova (10) Vs Ana Konjuh

This is beginning to look as though it may be a breakout year for Pliskova, as she has parlayed her win at the Cincinnati Open into her first Grand Slam quarter-final appearance. She got there by taking out Venus Williams in a 3-set thriller in the third round, and you have to believe that she is the favorite to move on to the semis. Konjuh is just 18 years old, and is coming off perhaps the best game of her pro career with a straight sets win over Radawanska in the previous round. She has a chance here, but needs to improve her first serve, as the second serve is an issue. Give the edge to Pliskova in this one.

Anastasija Sevastova Vs Caroline Wozniacki

You may not have heard of Anastasija Sevastova prior to this tournament, but she is making sure that you remember her after it. She has taken out a trio of top 15 players, and has yet to drop a set through the opening three rounds. She is major threat here. Caroline Wozniacki has slipped down the rankings in the last couple of years, but she is returning to form, and has played error-free tennis through the opening rounds. This figures to be a close one, but I have Wozniacki winning it in 3 sets.

Roberta Vinci (7) Vs Angelique Kerber (2)

The US Open is a tournament in which Roberta Vinci always seems to do well. That said, she has been winning in spite of the fact that she has been racking up the unforced errors along the way. She has only dropped a single set so far, but is going to have to be better if she hopes to win this one. Kerber is playing some great tennis at this event, failing to drop a set, and only losing a total of 10 games in her last two matches. She will pounce on any errors made by Vinci, and will win this one in straight sets.

2023 US Open Odds for the Quarterfinals Matches

Previous Betting News

The quarter finals are now set in the US Open on both the men’s and women’s draws after a couple of Monday upsets. Madison Keys knocked off No. 3 Jess Pegula, and No. 5 Ons Jabeur also went down in the bottom half of the women’s draw.

The men’s matches had one upset on Monday as No. 12 Alexander Zverev knocked off no. 6 Jannik Sinner in five sets. MyBookie has US Open tennis odds for Tuesday’s quarterfinal matches.

2023 US Open Odds for the Quarterfinals Matches | MyBookie ATP Betting Preview

2023 US Open Tennis Championships | 143rd edition of the US Open
Quarterfinals: Tuesday, September 5th – Wednesday September 6th, 2023

Djokovic A Big Favorite

No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic is the overall favorite to win the tournament, and he is a big favorite in the quarters. For the Tuesday match against American Taylor Fritz, Djokovic is -724 on the money line. Fritz is +425 to pull off the upset, and he’s never defeated Djokovic in seven tries.

The under 35.5 games is probably a smart play in this match, too. In the previous seven matches, six have been straight set wins for Djokovic. The only time Fritz has won a set was at the 2021 Australian Open after Djokovic won the first two sets.

Djokovic dispatched Fritz 6-0, 6-4 last month. This match will be earlier in the day, and the crowd will be fully behind Fritz, but he’s going to have to be perfect to win this match or even a set.

Men’s US Open Top Favorite | Bet Novak Djokovic to Win
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament

Tiafoe Favored in All-American Showdown

Americans Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton have never met in an official match. One of them will be just the second American male to play in a US Open Semifinal since 2006. Tiafoe ended that drought last year, and Shelton is the youngest American in a quarterfinal since 2002.

Tiafoe has the experience advantage, and he’s favored at -265 at MyBookie. Shelton is a big hitter with multiple 149 mph serves in his last win, and he’s +202 on the money line. Shelton lost in the quarters at the Australian Open, while Tiafoe won at this stage last year before falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the semis.

The over 39.5 seems like a good bet in this match at -119. Both players have big serves, and the break chances will be rare. At least one set should go to a tiebreak, and as long as both players win a set, the over hits.

Men’s US Open All-American Favorite | Bet Frances Tiafoe to Win
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament

Gauff The Favorite

All eyes will be on American teenager Coco Gauff in the morning match on Arthur Ashe Stadium court. After the upset of Iga Swiatek, Gauff is the favorite to win the top half of the draw and make her second slam final. But first, she has to get past Jelena Ostapenko, the player who beat Swiatek on Sunday.

These players have met twice, and both have a win. Gauff won their only 2023 matchup in straight sets at the Australian Open. She is -260 to win on Tuesday, while Ostapenko is +204 to pull off another upset and reach her first-ever US Open semifinal.

Ostapenka has a grand slam title, but both players have big match experience. Gauff showed some major nerves after winning the first set in the last round, and as a result, she lost the second set. But she bounced back to win the match, and she will have the crowd behind her all day as she looks to reach the semis.

2022 US Open Betting Update: Round of 16 Upsets, Must Bet Quarterfinal Matches

Previous Betting News

It was a hell of a first week at the US Open as there have been several upsets and top-tier matches at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in New York City. Top seeds like Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are already out on the men’s side, whereas the women’s draw has already lost Naomi Osaka, Maria Sakkari, and Simona Halep.

The second week of action gets underway on Monday, with the conclusion of the fourth round before quarter-final play on Tuesday. There are already four highly-anticipated quarter-final matches set. Let’s take a look at the upsets that has taken place along with a US Open Odds update.

Updated 2022 US Open Betting Opportunities Heading Into the Quarterfinals

Men’s Outright Odds

Kyrgios Takes Down Medvedev Again

There’s no question that Nick Kyrgios is having the best season of his career. The talented but frustrating Aussie has seemingly refocused his game and attitude (somewhat) this year, and it’s paying dividends. He reached a Grand Slam final for the first time this year at Wimbledon and is now through to the quarters at the US Open.

Kyrgios defeated world No. 1 Medvedev 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and made it look even easier than anticipated. It’s the second time he’s defeated the Russian this summer. Kyrgios was at +1000 to win the US Open before the tournament and now has the second-shortest odds to win the event. He’ll meet Karen Khachanov, who defeated Pablo Carreno Busta on Sunday, in the quarter-finals Tuesday.

Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud play in Tuesday’s other highly-anticipated quarter-final.

Women’s Outright Odds

Garcia vs Gauff

While there’s been some great matches and notable upsets, there has yet to be a match that has a heavyweight feel on the women’s draw. Caroline Garcia vs Coco Gauff, however, has the potential to be the match of the tournament. The two players meet in one of two quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Garcia, a two-time doubles Grand Slam champion, has yet to win a Grand Slam singles title but is playing the best tennis of her career. She won the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati before the US Open and has already defeated Alison Riske and 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu. Garcia hasn’t dropped a set through four matches and has a combined record of 48-20 through 68 games.

Gauff, meanwhile, is displaying the skills that had so many people claiming she’s the next breakout star in tennis as far back as two years ago. The 18-year-old American also hasn’t dropped a set but has had a slightly easier route to the quarter-finals. She did score an impressive win over Madison Keys in the third round, however.

Gauff is 2-0 against Garcia and last defeated the French player in February in Qatar.

Ons Jabeur and Alja Tomljanovic, who took out Serena Williams, meet in the other quarter-final on Tuesday.

Updated ATP & WTA 2022 US Open Odds, and Must Bet Round of 16 Matches

Previous Betting News

The first week of the US Open has come and gone and left us with a multitude of memorable moments. Nobody expected Serena Williams to win the US Open in her swan song, but she gave the New York crowd two impressive wins and had a great last dance against Alja Tomljanovic in the third round.

While several favorites are left in the women’s draw, we’re now without Maria Sakkari, Simona Halep, and Naomi Osaka, all of whom were among the top 10 betting favorites to win. Past US Open champions Bianca Andreescu and Emma Raducanu are also eliminated.

World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev is out in the men’s draw after losing to Nick Kyrgios for the second time in less than a month. Other favorites, including Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime, are also out of the tournament. Let’s take a look at how the US Open Betting Odds to win the tournament have changed and some of the best Round of 16 matches on which to bet.

2022 US Open Betting Options and Updated Odds | September 6th Edition

Men’s Outright Odds

Must-Bet Matches

Ilya Ivashka (+275) vs Jannik Sinner (-350)

Ilya Ivashka is perhaps the biggest surprise among players still in the men’s draw and could keep things going against the highly favored Jannik Sinner. Sinner has had a relatively easy path thus far, scoring victories over Brandon Nakashima, Christopher Eubanks, and Daniel Altmaier. Ivashka, the world No. 73, has picked up impressive wins over Lorenzo Musetti, Hubert Hurkacz, and Sam Querrey.

Sinner has the better serve, but Ivashka is the better returner, so this should be a battle of contrasting styles. Ivashka has 165 winners through three matches compared to Sinner’s 145 winners. They’ve never played each other on the ATP Tour, so this could be a good opportunity to go with Ivashka in the upset.

Matteo Berrettini (+100) vs Casper Ruud (-125)

Although Casper Ruud is the betting favorite, Matteo Berrettini should have the edge in what will be the sixth meeting between the two players in Tuesday’s quarter-final. Berrettini won their only match on hard court at last year’s US Open (6-4, 6-4, 6-2).

Ruud has also been fortunate to have a relatively easy path through the first four rounds, yet needed five sets in his last two victories over Tommy Paul and Corentin Moutet. Berrettini defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in five sets in the fourth round and has also beaten Andy Murray, Hugo Grenier, and Nicolas Jarry.

Women’s Outright Odds

Must-Bet Matches

Danielle Collins (+130) vs Aryna Sabalenka (-163)

American Danielle Collins and Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka will be under the lights on Monday night as both players hope to advance to the quarter-finals. Sabalenka is 3-0 against Collins, but how much of a factor will the crowd be?

Collins, the world No. 19, is 15-8 this season but has been particularly impressive on the hard court, where she is 12-3. She has twice lost to Sabalenka at the US Open, so it feels as though it could be three times a charm on Monday night. Sabalenka is 14-10 on hard courts this season.

Collins has also impressed in taking out Naomi Osaka and Alize Cornet, so expect her to keep the momentum going and book her spot into the quarter-finals.

Tuesday, Sep. 3

Qiang Wang vs. Serena Williams

2019 US Open Odds: Qiang Wang -340 / Serena Williams -526

Serena Williams has played like the old Serena at the 2019. U.S. Open. She lost a set to Cat McNally in Round 2. However, outside of losing a set to McNally, Serena has dominated. She beat Maria Sharapova 6-1, 6-1 in the first round, Karolina Muchova 6-3, 6-2 in the third round, and Petra Martic 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16.

Williams faces her toughest opponent yet when Qiang Wang steps onto the court on Tuesday. Wang has been virtually untouched in her four matches. She dominated Ashleigh Barty 6-2, 6-4 in the Round of 16. Wang shouldn’t beat Serena Williams on Sep. 3, but the odds are too good to pass up. Serena has had a tendency to fall flat later on in tournaments. If she falls flat versus Qiang, she’ll bow out of the U.S. Open before the semifinals.

US Open Women’s Pick: Qiang Wang

Johanna Konta vs. Elina Svitolina

2019 US Open Odds: Johanna Konta +137 / Elina Svitolina -185

Johanna Konta hopes to do to Elina Svitolina what she did to Karolina Pliskova, beat her favored opponent with grit. Pliskova had Konta on the ropes after winning the first set 7-6 (7-1). Anybody who saw that 7-1 set would have dumped on Katerina to end it in the next set. Johanna fought back and turned the tables on Pliskova.

Things should be tougher versus Elina Svitolina. Elina was the underdog versus Madison Keys in the Round of 16. All she did was beat Keys 7-5, 6-4. Svitolina hasn’t lost a set in 4 matches during the U.S. Open. She should get past Johanna Konta.

US Open Women’s Tennis Pick: Elina Svitolina

Donna Vekic vs Belinda Bencic

2019 US Open Odds: Donna Vekic +136 / Belinda Bencic -181

Bencic upset Naomi Osaka in the U.S. Open Round of 16. Naomi had been playing great. Bencic beat her rather easily, 7-5, 6-4. Her opponent, Donna Vekic, beat Julia Georges 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 6-3.

Bencic’s getting the love because she beat Osaka. Vekic has played as well in this tournament as Belinda, though. Donna Vekic is the better play because Bencic’s being overplayed after knocking out the 1-seed.

US Open Women’s Tennis Pick: Donna Vekic

Elise Mertens vs Bianca Vanessa Andreescu

2019 US Open Odds: Elise Mertens +150 / Bianca Vanessa Andreescu -204

The higher-seeded player, Bianca Andreescu dropped a set to Taylor Townsend in the Round of 16. She bounced back with a 6-2 third set win. She’s expected to easily handle Elise Mertens on Wednesday. That might not happen.

Mertens hasn’t dropped a set in 4 matches. She’s playing as good, or better, than any other player left on the women’s side. Elise Mertens most definitely can upset Bianca Vanessa Andreescu. Mertens also offer great odds. Back with confidence.

US Open Women’s Tennis Pick: Elise Mertens

Tuesday, Sep. 3

Grigor Dimitrov vs. Roger Federer

2019 US Open Odds: Grigor Dimitrov +642 / Roger Federer -1428

28-year-old Grigor Dimitrov has put together a nice U.S. Open run. He beat Andreas Sepi in 5 sets in Round 1. He beat Borna Coric, the 12-seed, via a walkover in the second round. Then, he took down Kamil Majchrzak in 4 sets in the Round of 16.

Even with the wins, Dimitrov only has a 12-15 straight up singles matches record this year. That doesn’t bode well for Grigor when he attempts to knock out the great Roger Federer on Tuesday.

Federer has become the de facto U.S. Open co-favorite along with Rafael Nadal after Novak Djokovic had to go home due to a shoulder injury. In his Round of 16 match, FedEx dominated tough David Goffin 6-2, 6-2, 6-0. There’s no reason to believe he lets Dimitrov hang around after 3 sets in the quarterfinals.

US Open Men’s Pick: Roger Federer

Daniil Medvedev vs. Stan Wawrinka

2019 US Open Odds: Daniil Medvedev -104 / Stan Wawrinka -126

Medvedev-Wawrinka should be an excellent match. Before Novak bowed out of their Round of 16 battle, Stan Wawrinka had won the first two sets 6-4, and 7-5. He was up 2-1 before Djokovic’s shoulder forced him to the sidelines.

Wawrinka has played better than Daniil Medvedev during the U.S. Open. While he’s cruised to the quarterfinals, Medvedev has struggled. It took Daniil 5 sets to beat unranked Dominik Koepfer in the Round of 16. It took him 6 sets to beat Feliciana Lopez in the third round.

Although Wawrinka has played better, this could be Daniil Medvedev’s tournament. Yes, he hasn’t looked sharp in every match. However, he’s won every match. He deserves backing in this spot.

US Open Men’s Pick: Daniil Medvedev

Gael Monfils vs Matteo Berrettini

2019 U.S. Open Odds: Gael Monfils -188 / Matteo Berrettini +140

The 33-year-old Monfils is having some tournament. He marches into the quarterfinals after having beaten Pablo Andujar 6-1, 6-1, 6-2. Monfils has a singles title this year. He’s also 26-11 in singles matches in 2019. Those are signs he should beat Berrettini on Sep. 4.

Although that’s true, Matteo Berrettini keeps answering the bell. As an underdog versus Andrey Rublev, he got by his opponent in 4 sets. Berrettini upsets Monfils and moves to the U.S. Open semifinals.

U.S. Open Men’s Tennis Pick: Matteo Berrettini

Rafael Nadal vs Diego Schwartzman

2019 U.S. Open Odds: Rafael Nadal -2499 / Diego Schwartzman +844

Marin Cilic won the second set against Rafael Nadal. Rafa didn’t blink. He calmly took the next two sets and now has a chance to make it to yet another U.S. Open Semifinals. His opponent Wednesday, Deigo Schwartzman, easily handled Alexander Zverev after losing the first set. He won’t keep up with Rafael Nadal.

U.S. Open Men’s Tennis Pick: Rafael Nadal
