An ATP 250 outdoor clay court tournament, the 2024 Argentina Open, known as the IEB+ Argentina Open for sponsorship purposes, takes place from February 12 to 18 at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. It’s the 27th edition of the tournament, which was won last year by Carlos Alcaraz. He headlines this year’s draw and is one of four players ranked inside the top-25, including Cameron Norrie (No. 19) and Nicolas Jarry (No. 20).
Other top-50 players in the draw include Laslo Djere, Arthur Fils, and Argentina natives Francisco Cerundolo, Sebastian Baez, and Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming 2024 Argentina Open tournament so you can bet against ATP betting odds along with a look at each of the top three seeds and a prediction for the final.

Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, Buenos Aires, Argentina
2023 ATP Winner: Carlos Alcaraz
Argentina Open Top 3 Players
Carlos Alcaraz -138
A two-time grand slam champion, Alcaraz is a strong clay court player and the defending champion in Buenos Aires, so it’s no surprise he has the shortest odds to win the tournament by a wide margin. He hasn’t played since the Australian Open, where he won four matches before losing to Alexander Zverev in the quarter-final.
Because it’s just a 28-player tournament, Alcaraz is among the top four seeds who receive a bye into the second round. He’ll play the winner of JP Varillas and qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli. His quarter-final opponent would be one of Andrea Vavassori, Thiago Seyboth Wild, Marin Cilic, and Laslo Djere. Alcaraz has favorable records against all of those potential opponents.
Cameron Norrie +1000
Norrie, the second seed in the draw, will play his first match on Wednesday against either Sebastian Ofner or Federico Coria. Norrie reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, beating Varillas, Giulio Zeppieri, and Casper Ruud before losing to Zverev. He’s 5-2 overall this season and ranked No. 20 in the world.
Clay is Norrie’s best surface. He went 18-7 on clay courts in 2023 and is 77-43 on the surface in ATP Tour matches going back to 2017. In contrast, he is just 42-44 in his career on indoor hard courts and 23-25 on grass courts.
Sebastian Baez +1100
Sebastian Baez has the third-shortest odds to win the tournament but is actually the fifth seed in the draw, meaning he has to play a first-round match. He plays Bernada Zapata Miralles in opening round action on Tuesday. Baez has never played Zapata Miralles on the ATP Tour. He’s in Norrie’s quarter of the bracket, so should he win his first two matches he could potentially meet the second seed in the quarter-finals.
Baez is coming off of a semi-final loss to Italian Luciano Darderi in the Cordoba Open in Argentina last week. The 23-year-old reached the third round in the Australian Open, losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
2024 Argentina Open Finals Betting Pick
This tournament should be a lay-up for Alcaraz after a disappointing result in Melbourne. He’s the defending champion here and has the easiest path to the final. There’s a lot of players to like in the bottom half of the draw and, because it’s more wide open, someone like Arthur Fils, a promising young French player, could really make an impact.

2021 Argentina Open Betting Predictions
No. 1 Diego Schwartzman Vs Lucas Klein
22-year-old Slovakian Lucas Klein dispatched Ernesto Escobedo 6-2, 6-3 on Monday. Klein is ranked 291st in the world rankings. Klein did win the doubles title at the Cherbourg Challenger event in France last month. 28-year-old world No. 9 Diego Schwartzman has gotten off to a modest 4-3 start. He split two matches in the season-opening ATP Cup before winning two matches at the Australian Open before bowing out to an incendiary Aslan Karatsev. Schwartzman should be hungry after getting unexpectedly knocked out in the second round at Cordoba last week against world No. 47 Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
Prediction: While these two players have never met before, I don’t think there’s any way Diego Schwartzman fails to win this match. The diminutive star is probably semi-desperate to pick up the level of his play and this is match he just can’t afford to lose. Lucas Klein is the far lesser player in this affair. Schwartzman gets it done in straight sets.
Pick: Diego Schwartzman in Straight Sets
Miomir Kecmanovic Vs Thiago Monteiro
- When: Wednesday, March 3 at 9:00 AM
- ATP Odds: Miomir Kecmanovic +145 / Thiago Monteiro -196
Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic is ranked an impressive 42nd in the ATP rankings. The 21-year-old is off to an uneven start in 2021, having gone 3-4 in seven matches. the 6’0″ Kecmanovic reached the second round in Australia but lost his opener 7-6, 5-7, 2-6 at Cordoba last week against Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
26-year-old Thiago Monteiro ranks 74th in the world. The 6′ 0″ Brazilian has gotten off to a nice 8-4 start coming into this affair. Monteiro reached the second round at Delray Beach and followed that up with a nice run to the semis at Melbourne 1. Monteiro then reached the second round in Australia and the quarterfinals in Cordoba last week.
Prediction: While these two have never met before, my money is on Thiago Monteiro. The Brazilian might be the lower ranked player in this affair, but he’s been the far better player this season. Both of these guys are the same height and possess the same amount of power. Keep it simple and go with the guy that has looked like the far better player this season. Thiago Monteiro.
Pick: Thiago Monteiro in 3 Sets
Pablo Andujar Vs Gianluca Mager
- When: Wednesday, March 3 at 9:00 AM
- ATP Odds: Pablo Andujar -169 / Gianluca Mager +125
Pablo Andujar is 57th in the world rankings. The 35-year-old Spaniard is off to an uninspiring 1-3 start this season. Andujar won his opener in Australia but bowed out in the second round against Filip Krajinovic in four sets. Andújar rebounded in his Argentina opener, beating Juan Ignacio Londero 6-3, 6-0 on Monday.
26-year-old Gianluca Mager is 101st in the world rankings. The 6’2″ Italian has gone 2-4 in six matches coming into this affair. Mager lost his opener at Melbourne 1, the Australian Open and last week at Cordoba.
Prediction: This pick amounts to a selection for the lesser of two evils. Pablo Andujar isn’t setting the place on fire, but Gianluca Mager has been completely and utterly awful in his last three matches. While Mager is 1-0 in head-to-head matches against Andujar, that match went the distance. This time around, Andujar extracts some revenge against the struggling Italian.
Pick: Pablo Andujar in 3 Sets
Sumit Nagal Vs Cristian Garin
Not to be confused with Rafael Nadal, world No. 150 Sumit Nagal was off to an 0-2 start this season before getting past Nicolas Kicker in his Argentina opener on Monday.
If you didn’t know, the 24-year-old Garin is ranked a stellar 22nd in the ATP rankings. Garin lost his opening round match at Delray Beach against Christian Harrison to open the 2021 season. Garin sat out the Australian Open with a wrist injury, so he should be seriously motivated in this match.
Prediction: Sumit Nagal got a very nice win on Monday, but this is where the party comes to a crashing halt for him. Cristian is by far, the more accomplished player with bigger and more dangerous weapons. Garin looks poised to make a deep run that challenges for the outright win in Argentina. Garin cruises in this one.
Pick: Cristian Garin in Straight Sets
