Betting 2024 EFG Swiss Open Gstaad

The 2024 EFG Swiss Open Gstaad is an ATP 250 event being played concurrent with the Hall of Fame Open in Newport during the week of July 15-21.

The clay court tournament is one of the oldest in the world, first played in 1915, and has been part of the ATP Tour since 1990.

Recent winners include Pedro Cachin (2023), Casper Ruud (2022 and 2021), Albert Ramos Vinolas (2019), and Matteo Berrettini (2018).

Top Seeds and Favorites

  • Stefanos Tsitsipas (World No. 11)
  • Ugo Humbert (World No. 16)
  • Felix Auger-Aliassime (World No. 17)
  • Tomas Martin Etcheverry (World No. 31)
  • Jan-Lennard Struff (World No. 41)
  • Matteo Berrettini (World No. 59)
  • Fabio Fognini (World No. 94)
  • Stan Wawrinka (World No. 95)

2024 Swiss Open Gstaad Top 3 Players

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the clear betting favorite in the Swiss Open Gstaad because of his preference for playing on clay and his impressive 30-12 record this season.

The top seed in the tournament is an 11-time winner on the ATP Tour and won this season at the ATP Masters 1000 Monte-Carlo on clay.

He also reached the finals of the clay court ATP 500 event in Barcelona and the quarter-finals at Roland Garros.

He lost to Emil Ruusuvuori in the Round of 64 at Wimbledon, but a return to the comfortable clay courts could be just what Tsitsipas needs. He has a first-round bye and will play the winner of Hamad Medjedovic and wildcard Marc-Andrea Husler in the second round.

Ugo Humbert

Ugo Humbert is playing some of the best tennis of his career.

The 26-year-old French player is currently ranked No. 15 in the world, down just two spots from his career-best ranking of No. 13, and won his fifth and sixth career titles this season in Marseille and Dubai.

He’s 24-14 overall this season and coming off a Round of 16 exit at Wimbledon.

He is the second seed in the Swiss Open Gstaad and will play the winner of Stefano Napolitano and qualifier Gustavo Heide in the second round.

Felix Auger-Aliassime

While he hasn’t been able to live up to the hype he had as a junior, Felix Auger-Aliassime has shown some improvements this season after a down year in 2023.

The five-time ATP winner hasn’t won a title this season, but is 20-15 and reached the final at the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid before losing to Andrey Rublev.

He has surprisingly become quite comfortable on clay courts despite their absence in his native Canada.

Auger-Aliassime reached the Round of 16 at Roland Garros before losing to eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz.

Swiss Open Gstaad Final Pick

The top half of the draw has the makings of a Tsitsipas and Auger-Aliassime showdown in the semi-finals.

In that case, I like Auger-Aliassime to reach another clay court final and potentially earn his first title of the season.

He should be well rested and hungry for success after a first-round exit at Wimbledon.

Jan-Lennard Struff, meanwhile, is a strong pick to win the bottom half of the draw.

The fifth seed won his first-round match early Monday morning and is up against wild card Leandro Riedi in the second round.

ATP Pick: Auger-Aliassime def. Struff

ATP 2023 Swiss Open Betting Analysis, Odds Favorites & Predictions

Previous Betting News

The ATP Tour will soon turn its attention to North America and the hard court season in a build-up to the U.S. Open, the final grand slam of the season. But before heading across the Atlantic, there are still a few summer tournaments in Europe. This week the players in Europe are split between two clay court tournaments at the ATP 250 level.

At the EFG Swiss Open in Gstaad, Switzerland, 28 players are competing at Roy Emerson Arena. The two-time defending champion, Casper Ruud, is not in the field this year, but past champions Donimic Thiem, Fabio Fognini, and Albert Ramos Vinolas are in the draw.

Roberto Bautista Agut is the top seed, followed by Miomir Kecmanovic, Lorenzo Sonego, and Yannick Hanfmann. Those four each get a bye into the second round.

That said, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Swiss Open Gstaad tournament so you can bet against the ATP betting lines.

ATP Betting Preview for the 2023 Swiss Open Gstaad | MyBookie ATP Betting Preview

2023 Swiss Open | 3rd edition of the Swiss Open Gstaad
ATP Tour 250 series
July 17th – July 23rd, 2023
Roy Emerson Arena | Gstaad, Switzerland

Hanfmann the Favorite

Despite being the four seed, Hanfmann is the betting favorite at MyBookie with +600 odds as the tournament opens. Ranked 31st in the world, Hanfmann is 13-7 on clay this season and 17-11 overall in ATP matches. He has never won a title on the ATP Tour.

Hanfmann made the semifinals on grass at Mallorca before falling to Adrian Mannarino, and he lost a five-set match in the first round at Wimbledon. On clay this season, he was 1-1 at the French Open while reaching the semifinals in Houston and the quarterfinals in both Rome and Santiago.

On the season, Hanfmann has four losses against the top 10 players in the world, and he won’t face any of those in Gstaad. The key for the German player is to win the first set as he is 16-2 this season when he opens with a win but 1-9 after dropping the opener.

Bautista Agut, Sonego Rank Next

The top seed in this tournament, Bautista Agut, and the No. 3 seed, Sonego, are both +650 to win the title. Kecmanovic is +800, despite being the No. 2 seed.

Bautista Agut came into the season with a 90-62 career record on clay, but the Spaniard is just 4-6 this season. He has career clay-court titles at Kitzbuhel (2022) and Stuttgart (2014). He has yet to win two matches at the same event on clay in 2023.

Sonego is 17-18 overall this season and 7-5 on clay. He has three career ATP titles including a win on clay at Cagliari in 2021. He reached the round of 16 at the French Open and two of his other losses on clay this season came to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev.

Grand Slam Champs Have a Chance

This draw includes two former grand slam champions who are looking to recover their form. Both Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem are +1100 to win in Gstaad this week, and they are both in the top half of the draw. Thiem won this event back in 2015 and is one of three former winners in the field.

Thiem is 7-8 on clay this season and 160-68 in his career with 10 clay court titles. He lost to Tsitsipas in the first round at Wimbledon and enters Gstaad on a four-match losing streak.

Wawrinka is 4-5 on clay this season and 190-102 for his career with seven ATP titles. He won two matches at Wimbledon before falling to Novak Djokovic, and he also won a match at the French Open this year. Wawrinka hasn’t won a title on tour since 2017.

ATP 2023 Nordea Open Betting Analysis, Favorites & Predictions

Previous Betting News

Of the three events on the men’s tennis tour this week, by far, the best field is at the Nordea Open in Bastad, Sweden. The ATP 250 event is played on clay at the Bastard Tennis Stadium in southwest Sweden, just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The field includes five players ranked in the ATP top 20, including the last two event champions.

Casper Ruud is the top seed, and he won the event in 2021. Fresh off the quarterfinals run at Wimbledon, Andrey Rublev is the No. 2 seed. Lorenzo Musetti is the No. 3 seed and the defending champion, Francisco Cerundolo is the No. 4 seed. All four receive a bye into the second round.

That said, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Nordea Open tournament so you can bet against the ATP betting lines.

ATP Betting Preview for the 2023 Nordea Open | MyBookie ATP Betting Preview

2023 Swedish Open | 3rd edition of the Nordea Open
ATP Tour 250 series: July 17–23, 2023
WTA 125 tournaments: July 10–15, 2023
Båstad Tennis Stadium | Båstad, Sweden

Ruud the Favorite

Ruud is not only the top seed, but the Norwegian is also the MyBookie favorite at +205 to win the title this week. Ranked No. 4 in the world, Ruud crashed out of Wimbledon early with a second-round loss in his only grass tournament of the season. Much more comfortable on clay, Ruud reached the French Open Final in June before falling to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

Ruud is 17-6 on clay this season and 116-43 in his career, with a .730 winning percentage. Of his ten career ATP titles, nine have come on clay. He won this event in 2021 but last year lost in his first match to Cerundolo, who went on to win the title.

Ruud is 21-4 this season when winning the first set and just 2-9 when he loses the first set. Eight of his 13 losses in 2023 have come in either grand slams or ATP 1000 Masters events. Ruud has one title under his belt in 2023 at the Estoril Open, a clay event.

Zverev, Rublev Rank Next

Rublev and Alexander Zverev are next up in the odds at +450. Rublev has a bye to the second round, while Zverev, as the No. 5 seed, has to play a first-round match against Alex Molcan. The draw has both players in the bottom quadrant, and they would go head-to-head in the quarterfinals.

Rublev has made a big jump in 2023, winning the ATP Monte Carlo Masters on clay and reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon before losing to Djokovic. He is 14-4 on clay this season and 35-14 overall. He has a tough draw with potentially playing three straight matches against Zverev, Cerundolo, and Ruud/Musetti.

Zverev, ranked No. 19 in the world, is 13-6 on clay this season, and 121-48 for his career. He has six career titles on clay but hasn’t won a title since the 2021 ATP Finals. Zverev missed all of last summer after an injury at the French Open and is still getting back to the form that saw him win six titles, including the Olympics, in 2021.

Cerundolo, Musetti Nearly Even

Cerundolo, the defending champion in Bastad, is +750 to repeat, while Musetti is +800. Both players are clay-court players and in opposite halves of the draw. Cerundolo is in the bottom with Zverev and Rublev, while Musetti is in the top half with Ruud.

Cerundolo is 16-10 on clay this season with a title. He is 18-2 when winning the first set and 13-6 when the match goes to a deciding set. Cerundolo reached the final 16 at the French Open, lost in the finals on clay in Lyon, and recently won a grass-court title at Eastbourne.

Musetti has two career ATP titles, both in 2022 with one coming on clay. Overall this season, he is 22-16, and he is 12-9 on clay. Winning the first set is huge for the Italian as he is 19-1 when taking the first set and 3-15 when losing the opening set.

Previous Betting News

MyBookie brings you free betting previews for the 2021 Nordea Open & 2021 Hall of Fame Open with best bets and top odds. Here are our betting previews and predictions for games played on Tuesday, July 13, with all the information you’ll ever need to place bets on ATP Betting Odds.

Tennis Betting Preview for the 2021 Nordea Open & 2021 Hall of Fame Open

2021 Nordea Open

When: 5-18 July
Where: Båstad tennis stadium in Båstad, Sweden

Pablo Cuevas v Norbert Gombos

When: Tuesday, July 13

World no.84 Pablo Cuevas will clash with world no.94 Norbert Gombos on Tuesday, July 13, in the Round of 32 at the 2021 Nordea Open.

Cuevas enters the match as a -208 favorite, while MyBookie prices Gombos as a +154 underdog. That makes a lot of sense, considering Cuevas already won a title here, albeit way back in 2014 when he beat João Sousa.

Cuevas also enjoyed some success on the Challenger Tour, winning in Lyon in June, where he made it past Elias Ymer. Last week, Cuevas traveled to Salzburg, only to get eliminated by Juan-Ignacio Londero in the quarter-finals.

The Slovak has yet to win a single senior ATP title; however, he has been fairly impressive on the junior level, appearing in 24 finals and winning 10 of them. What’s more, half of those victories came on clay.

Gombos should prove to be a worthy opponent, but it’s hard to make a case for him as he faces an experienced player. Cuevas is in better form, has already played here, and should be heavily favored to win.

Prediction: Pablo Cuevas to win -208 at MyBookie

Facundo Bagnis v Roberto Carballes

When: Tuesday, July 13

A clash between two clay-court specialists in Facundo Bagnis and Roberto Carballes promises to be an exciting one, but it’s hard to overlook Bagnis as the better player. He reached finals at Chile Open in March and has had a very impressive career on the junior level.

Bagnis reached 31 finals as a junior, winning 18 of them – all on clay.

Since reaching finals in Chile, Bagnis also made the final two in Portugal, in a Challenger event, and semi-final in Lyon.

Carballes has had some success as well, particularly on clay courts. However, he has been struggling in 2021 and hasn’t managed to reach the same heights as Bagnis.

Outside of winning a Challenger event in Belgrade, Carballes regularly crashed out of tournaments in the early stages. Bagnis should win this bout with relative ease.

Prediction: Facundo Bagnis to win -140 at ByBookie

2021 Hall of Fame Open

When: 12-18 July
Where: International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island

Tennys Sandgren v Joao Sousa

When: Tuesday, July 13

World no.120 Jao Sousa of Portugal will take on world no.32 Tennys Sandgren on Tuesday, July 13, in the first round of the 2021 Newport Open. Sandgren enters the match as a -175 favorite, which might make sense; however, he hasn’t been in the best of forms in 2021.

The 29-year-old enters the match with a 5-10 record on the year and is 2-4 on hard courts. What’s more, he is 1-7 on clay and 2-2 on grass.

Talking about poor form, Sousa is 2-17 in his last 19 outings and has won only one match on the year from his last ten main draw fixtures. His only win of 2021 came against Christopher O’Connell, and has a 14-21 career record on grass.

Both players are in terrible form, and while Sandgren should have an edge, having previously played in Newport, he hasn’t shown enough for us to believe he can win this one in straight sets. Expect three sets.

Prediction: Joao Sousa +1.5 sets -144 at MyBookie
